Psychology

Quiet - Empathic - Kind - Naive

Lemon is by nature very forgiving and non-judgmental. She is lead mostly by her heart, feeling her emotions very strongly. She tries very hard to do what's 'right', but this has proven much more complicated and difficult than it might at first seem. She is at once both childish and an old soul. At her worst she is rash and hysterical, at her best she is calm and empathic.

She tends to be very shy, and has difficulty making new friends -- but the bonds she does make are never broken. Her loyalty knows no bounds, and even when injured either emotionally or physically, she is quick to forgive. When interacting with unfamiliar faces, Lemon will go between being very quiet and oversharing her personal details. Among young ones she automatically takes up a motherly guardian role, shedding her fear of strangers for a more open, playful nature.

Some view her forgiving nature as open tolerance of evil acts. In truth, Lemon believes very strongly that even the darkest of souls are deserving of kindness. Above all, she believes in the innate goodness of all beings.

Appearance

She may be portrayed as either human-faced or deer-faced.

Her face is shapely and delicate, with slender, feminine features and large eyes. Her yellow eyes have glassed over and clouded due to blindness. Her neck and other extremities are long and thin. Her thick coat of fur and fat gives her a slightly rounded appearance, specifically around her midsection. Her body is covered in scars, but her fur hides it well. Her tail is thick and fluffy, and quite long.

Lemon's pelt is a lovely shade of medium blue-grey. The fur is lighter at her throat, belly, and backside -- while a strip of thick, dark fur runs from the top of her head to the base of her tail. She has bright dapples along her back.

Lemon's peacock feathers grow from her neck like a mane, but given forest magic they are removable. She wears a dark blue bird's face mask painted with closed false eyes and tear stains. Lemon does NOT go without her mask except around those she trusts most. Having no idea what she looks like, she is very self-conscious -- especially about her eyes, which she assumes look like the horrifying stare of a dead deer.

Positive

+++ Walter - Lover. - Loyal to him. He is one of her oldest friends in the forest. Theirs was a very long and tangled affair, with Lemon denying her feelings for Walter for a very long time. He has done terrible things to her, but they have shared infinitely more good days than bad, and she sees a goodness in him. She is highly submissive to him and easily persuaded by him, but has stood up for herself and others when the need arose, even going so far as to physically fight him at times. Has trouble forgiving him for the death of Kaoori's child, but understands that it was a mistake.
++ Ahn - Friend. Initially drawn to the feline due to her calm nature and relation to Walter, has grown incredibly fond of this lovely lady. Finds great comfort in her quiet company, and is happy to spend time with her even if they don't say much. Was comforted by Ahn after a particularly trying night, and will not be quick to forget this act of kindness.
+++ Atiq - Beloved friend. Very drawn to him and his calm, collected demeanor. Able to relax around him and does not feel judged. Quite enamored by. She considers him a true friend. He is one of her strongest support pillars, and has been there for her during trying times -- whether by offering sage advice or simply making her smile with his playful antics. She looks up to him, admires him, and respects him deeply.
+++ Ba/Titilayo - Very close friend, informally adopted. Met when Ba was a young fawn. They became very close, and Lemon protected her from the evils of the forest. Recently reunited with her, much to her excitement. Still considers her a daughter of sorts.
+++ Crescent - Beloved friend. Adores him, is comforted by his presence, often seeks him out whenever possible. Crescent was a vital shoulder for her to lean on at a time when Lemon felt her world was falling apart, and offered her comfort when others turned their backs. He is one of her dearest friends, and she respects him deeply.
+++ Cydae - Friend, "the other mother". Met this lovely lady during unfortunate circumstances. Has begun getting to know her better as they work to raise the child Sayuri together.
+++ Jude - Distant friend. Keeps an eye on him from a distance, ensuring he is as safe as he can be. Has begun coming to terms with the idea that she may not see him again until he is much older.
+++ Kaoori - Beloved friend. Kaoori and Lemon's friendship stretches far, far into the past. She is particularly protective of the doe, and would go to no end to keep her safe. Feels extreme guilt due to the situation with Walter, but has been working through those issues. Still thinks dearly of her, considers her a sister.
++ Llyr - Friend. Instantly hit it off with this doe while drinking at the bar. They have a quiet, peaceful relationship, in which they mostly drink and chat like old ladies. Seeks to get to know her better, is quite charmed by her. Enjoys her company greatly.
++ Maggot - Curious of. Finds him interesting. Amused that the children are so scared of him. Has spoken with him a bit, which has cooled her initial intrigue. He has made her an unusual offer in granting her eyesight, but she's suspicious of what he would want in return, as he refuses to name a specific price.
+++ Nishi - Son. Formally adopted this sweet young child with Walter. Has been seeking a cure for his nervous tics and spasms, but hasn't been able to find anything yet. Loves him dearly despite (and because of) his oddities. Does her best to accommodate him knowing he dislikes touch and close proximity, but often can't help but cuddle him. Would die for him.
+++ Pagan - Beloved friend. Feels a powerful connection to this girl that cannot be explained. Has recently learned that the feeling is mutual. Has known her a very short time, but feels quite strongly for her, and would go to great lengths to protect her. Worried for the enemies Pagan seems to have made in her honor, feels regret and guilt that the kind doe was involved in her troubles.
+++ Sayuri - Daughter. Witnessed the death of Sayuri's only living relative, her mother Moriko. Has taken the child under her wing along with Cydae. Sayuri is quite the little spitfire, and would be turning Lemon's hair grey if it wasn't already. She adores the little fawn, and would go to great lengths to protect her.
+++ Seed - Older brother. Lemon's very first friend in the forest, she considers the bond as strong as any blood relation. She looks up to him and seeks him out for guidance, admiring his calm nature and gentleness. He is perhaps the only one who truly understands her relationship with Walter, having also shared a friendly relationship with the demon in the past. However, he is not particularly pleased with Lemon's choice of partner, and has made that known.
+++ The Oak Guardian - Friend. Is enamored by this little doe, and tends to follow her around. Slight crush on. Is quite curious about the doe's magic abilities, and would like to learn more about her.
+++ Vala - Beloved friend. Vala befriended Lemon when Lemon was a fawn. The spirited mini-deer will always hold a special place in Lemon's heart. She is the one deer who can always bring a smile to Lemon's face, no matter what is happening in her life. She cherishes Vala deeply.

Unclear

- Halla - Wary of. After a misunderstanding in which Lemon was attacked by a mob coming to Halla's defense, she has stayed clear of the female as best she can. Now that a little more light has been shed on the situation, she holds no grudges toward Halla and secretly hopes they might be able to talk civilly some day in the future.

-+ Nikhil - ? Caught between distrust of the male given his hatred of Walter, and finding him intriguing and surprisingly level-headed. She is not sure what to think of him, but her opinion is bordering on positive despite their brief negative interactions in the past.

+ Riften - Beloved Friend. Dearly misses this goofball. He no longer considers her a friend due to her choice of mates. Had a long talk with him about Walter, and ended with Riften walking away. She still loves him dearly and misses him. Completely heartbroken over the situation.

Past

Mystress - Spiritual adviser, Godmother. Mystress is Lemon's adoptive mother and her closest friend. She deeply admires the doe's ability to see the good in everyone, and tries to emulate her godmother's characteristics. Mystress is her counselor in all things -- both spiritual and worldly.

Peppa - Daughter. Lemon and Seth adopted the deaf mini-fawn together. Peppa is presumed dead, but no body was ever recovered. The death hit Lemon hard. Peppa was lost shortly after Seth, compounding her grief.

Seth Best childhood friend, ex-mate. Seth was Lemon's first love, her first mate. He was a kind, gentle soul -- but she betrayed his love by falling for Walter. After finding them together, despite Lemon's claims that they were little more than friends, Seth disappeared permanently. He is presumed dead, and Lemon still mourns his absence. Her betrayal has become something of a complex. She refuses to let herself love a good soul, seeking out instead the attentions of aggressive, violent stags.

The Phantom - Guardian, best childhood friend. The Phantom was a mysterious figure who appeared in the forest and refused to let anyone near him -- but through persistence, Lemon managed to befriend him. The two became inseparable for some time, until Lemon began falling for Seth. Shortly after Seth and Lemon became mates, the Phantom disappeared. Lemon blames herself for not talking to the Phantom about his feelings, for she believes he may have loved her... Of all her lost loves, the Phantom is perhaps the one she misses most.

Other Information

♦ Lemon is blind. She gradually lost her sight as a fawn and is now completely unable to see. However...

♦ Through magic, Lemon can 'see' and even speak to the souls of other deer. This means she has some sense of a deer's good or bad nature before meeting them. She is also able to recognize and locate pictograms, though she cannot see them in the traditional sense.

♦ Above all else, she loves fawns. Lemon is not shy around fawns, and often annoys them with excessive affection. She is sometimes known to informally adopt them, taking it upon herself to watch over them even if they already have parents.

♦ She tends to chew on things when she's nervous -- bark, other deer's fur/feathers, her legs, etc. When she's particularly happy she will flick her tail like a rabbit.

♦ Lemon does not go without her mask unless she's feeling extremely comfortable with whoever she's with.

♦ Lemon was created as a spirit in a distant realm, and was brought to the forest after she was abducted by a malevolent demi-goddess. She has since broken free of the demi-goddesses clutches. She sometimes ventures outside the forest into distant realms, but has so far not found a way to materialize in the forest with her eyesight intact.

♦ Lemon claims to be infertile. In reality she is likely low-fertility, making conception unlikely but possible.

♦ She has mild healing powers, but is unaware of this. She is well-versed in herbology and can expertly care for wounds with herbs and wraps, but she also has a very gentle healing aura which surrounds her.

LOL! Like I said to Verdalas, Lemon's a little bipolar. A little. >u> Sometimes her depression/mania lasts for long periods of time (weeks, months), and sometimes it switches a few times per day. But that's certainly one of her many mental... issues.

Aww, I did have a ton of fun at the ruins, yes. <3 Queze and Quad are both always fun to hang out with. c: I thought it was quite funny when everyone had the Gazelle pelt on, by the pond. Even a nameless got hit with it! xD

Aww! xD <3 Yeah, it's crazy! Not only have both Raj and Peppa already grown up, but today Lemon discovered that Umbrella-fawn and Ball-of-yawn-fawn (I don't know their names, but Lemon was quite motherly of both) have already grown up, too! Four fawns, all grown!

I could see Rowan and Lemon sitting in their rocking chairs on a front porch somewhere, reminiscing about when their kids were young... xD

Lemon, remember your little "Ball of Yarn" fawn? He grew up too, and he really liked to abuse the surprized exression + laugh, Myst played with him for a really long time! c: When Jag (Myst's adopted son) grew up, she felt real old but that was forever ago lol!
