It isn't about posting perfect work. It's about posting your work. It's a way to keep track. There is only a sense of accomplishment for making at least one new thing every day. As you create, you learn.

It's fine to ask for advice or critique. Please do not offer critique unless it is requested. Please use a link for Not Safe For Work (NSFW) images.

The only rule: post only what you have done today. Not yesterday or last month. Only today.


ps- for those who are shy. Don't compete with others. Compete with yourself. Do not be discouraged by others' success. Learn from them instead, and continue forward on your own path.

Hang in there, Unplugged, Melusine. Even sketches and quick paintings are good to make. There will be a time for laborious concentration later.

I was unconscious yesterday... I did not draw.
But today I drew several things.

I'm terrible at posting here

I'm terrible at posting here every day, but I'm not an artist. At all. And despite trying to just not care, seeing everyone else's work makes me wonder why somebody would look at mine. It's alright, though. My writing's far better. 8D And hey, this is with touchpad and Paint.



I have no idea why I decided to draw a Robert Plant deer.

Under your hand is the

Under your hand is the smooth, plastic surface of your keyboard. Hundreds of points of light shoot into your eyes and bounce into your mind. You are surrounded by wood, brick, drywall, paint, carpet. The lights are electric now. White noise hums. The sound of a refrigerator and a computer fan.

Close your eyes. A robin's chirp sounds almost like a bark. A distant raven croaks five times. Under your open palm is cool, loose soil. If you press against it, it packs more tightly around the thin, flexible stem of the sprouting plant you are swaddling in earth. Light slips through the thick blanket of clouds above; the warm, summer sun slowly moving across the sky. It hits sections of leaves of the trees around you and turns them into brilliant neon green patches in a softly whispering, swishing lake of breeze-blown foliage. Under your knees is short grass. You could lay down in it, feel each blade bending and submitting to your back and arms. It would stand itself back up again, once you left, though you would leave a shape there for a while. A phantom self in the grass.
Your hand in the soil, your face to the gentle sun, you are an unimaginably small part of an orb that is slowly spinning, sunning itself. You belong here.

The petal of a lobelia cardinalis hangs like a drop of spilled blood from the dew covered strand of a spider's web. Wavering in the wind, a forgotten memory, like a lost feather.
And even the spider rejects it, casting it from its line in favour of ugly flies.
Beauty, does not win everyone over.
