It isn't about posting perfect work. It's about posting your work. It's a way to keep track. There is only a sense of accomplishment for making at least one new thing every day. As you create, you learn.

It's fine to ask for advice or critique. Please do not offer critique unless it is requested. Please use a link for Not Safe For Work (NSFW) images.

The only rule: post only what you have done today. Not yesterday or last month. Only today.


ps- for those who are shy. Don't compete with others. Compete with yourself. Do not be discouraged by others' success. Learn from them instead, and continue forward on your own path.

...do you ever get the feeling you're being stared at by something that really badly wants to rip your throat out?

Also this almost looks like something you'd see on a biker's leather jacket.

And also I'd like any critique on how to make eye glows and shading better for these guys. I'm starting to understand that shading makes things look more realistic.

I think the eyeglow looks

I think the eyeglow looks good, Quad. I assume you're working in MS Paint. Something you could try to make it smoother (which is not necessary, but could be interesting for you to experiment with) is to try using the spraycan tool. If you have two colors meeting on a hard line, try using the spraycan to blend one color out, then take the other color and blend in, so the line is about where it was, but is now softened. If you need a demonstration of what I mean I don't mind making one.

Eye - Yeah sadly I use Paint

Eye - Yeah sadly I use Paint for this, but I really like the art style as it is fun to work with. And if you have the time to show me an example of what you mean, that would be great! I have an idea but I'd rather get a visual.

It's a shame Paint doesn't have a blur tool like iScribble does.

I tried it and actually am really impressed with how the glow looks now

This looks really good now Quad! If you want to you could try adding some red highlights on the skull itself. The red glow is a light source too so it casts a red light to the objects around. Smiling The closer to the light source, the stronger is the highlight.

Unplugged - I'll give that a shot a little later, but I'm worried that it's going to make his skull look all bloodied rather than glowing. But it's worth a try at least.

I think i like working with the spray tool, maybe my next doodle will involve it again.
