I found out today that deer and horses have the same scary eyes that goats have. :c They freaked me out when I was a kid.
I need to track this.

Spoiled, thank you for posting, your studies look great. I was weirded out by the rectangular pupils as well, but now I find them charming. My only advice with faces is to remember the eyes are far on the sides of the head, unlike humans and predatory animals, who have eyes in the front. What helped me the most was drawing skulls. I still need a lot of practice, but knowing what's under the skin reminds me where features should be.

Having such trouble focusing
I did some writing today, in this thread.
An excerpt:
The last few feet were especially vexing. A jump in any direction would be a blind one. He stared through the holes of his mask into the blackness, listening to the wind whispering in through the gap of light above. It couldn't be that much deeper, could it? The doe had gone silent, too.
"Hello?" He called. His voice bounced up to him from the floor. Surely, it was close enough...
Straightening up his neck, he tried to feel the space between him and the close walls. He'd never been in such a tight spot. The navy-colored night sky above seemed like daylight compared to the blackness of the hole. He breathed deeply.
His strong hindquarters bunched and lifted his little hooves, and him, into the void. The distance must have been higher than he'd expected, or maybe it was just not knowing when he would land, but the instant he spent falling seemed longer than it really was.
His shoulder was once grazed by the unforgiving rock, but he found himself uninjured with all four hooves on the uneven floor. He reared up with a laugh of jubilation, only to knock his stubby antlers hard against the jutting wall with a sharp crack that echoed the length of the rift.

I actually drew something
I actually drew something today, so I thought I should post it. The lines on the paper threw me off, hence the gap on the back right leg, haha.
This creature came to life in my mind as I was driving a couple hours from college to home. I was listening to a song by an Iranian band called "Niyaz". A lot of inspiration for this came from the Seth animal. The stuff on its neck and back is supposed to be feathers xD
I have three ideas about what direction I want to take it. Make it into a unique OC, make it my "fursona" (I just love it so much), or make several designs and turn them into different species. Or something.

I got inspired to draw my representation of the Seth animal. Never tried drawing paws before... Eh. And I BS'd the right front leg a little. I absolutely hate drawing straight knees.
I'm a fan of long necks. I blame Ryuu. The pose was partially inspired by Eyestrain's painting of Ryuu too. Though unlike with Ryuu, I love longer legs and shorter bodies.

Melusine, here is a redline, though others may have better advice for canines. I had to look at an anatomy book and am still unsure, haha. I brought the stomach higher but it was fine where it was too.
Some thoughts. It looks a little catlike. Some canine features you could emphasize, if you wanted; the fur on the ventral side of the tail usually doesn't get bushy right from its base and the tail is usually a bit shorter. Ears are also usually a more towards the top of the head.
