I am kind of wondering, could not comments on others' work be kind of discouraging? for the artists who do not receive comments?
I think it creates an air of competition that is not needed here, or makes it look like certain art is more valued, and this is not the purpose of this thread.
would it be ok to ask if they could be toned down? at least unless artists explicitly ask for them? I don't post here right now but I feel it is slightly discouraging, because this thread is not about posting perfect work, and having art valued where it is not supposed to be valued kind of takes /my/ sense of security away..

I'm not taking seriously what I post here so I don't really mind, but as a member who regularly take a peek in this thread, I do think too that comments ( when feedback isn't asked) given to some pieces and not to others may be frustrating and discouraging for the artists posting here.

A day of firsts! First background/landscape thing and first digital painting! After much trial and error(and ragequitting) I FINALLY had some luck with digital painting. <: That is my third try today at starting something that resembles an actual painting. o 3o Done from scratch in paint tool sai with the brush and pen brushes. xD Man my wrist is cramping but I can't bring myself to stop. HNNNGH. That skin must've taken me like three hours. D;

Ah, my shading is hardly anything good, it's just hatchet lines. I've tried to do real shading, but it never works out. Shame too, I have so many images in my head, but I can't create any of them because of the state I'm in, drawing wise.
