Jay's passing is still sore, I find myself thinking about him if I'm driving in the rain. He has brought to light that I've not really been living for a while; my hobbies were consumed by work, so I'm making an effort to get those back or at least find new ones.

One of which is enjoying a certain fantasy deer characters again, at least low key now that I've brought my old pc back from the dead. Maybe Dag will see you in forest sometime?

He'll be 11 years old on the 21st March (:

    Identity }
Dag's full name is pronounced 'I-or-dag-nyre', and was given the title 'The Fortress' in recognition of the guardianship he gives to and inspires in others. He is a symbol of unyielding strength of will and exhibits an impenetrable, one-pointed focus to rise above any situation. The emblem of victory - the Peregrine Falcon - still remains with him from his first and very old title of 'Wings of Peregrine'.

    The Fortress }
Voice - Deep bass; an equal balance of gentility and authoritative power associated with a voice of moral substance and leadership. Feral vocalizations are rare from him, though he is known to produce brontidal rumbles and has an extraordinarily low, growling bellow.
Scent - His scent is very gustatory - likened to the smoulder of a warm, damp bonfire in the middle of open fields; burnt soil of old forests long gone.
Build - Based on an old-world ice giant Eucladoceros species; the first species of deer genus to have highly evolved antlers yet is a primitive mass of strong bone and muscle. His body type is a visually solid domination with a dense muscular structure most noticeable around his barrel-chest and shoulders, reinforcing the relatively short, strong neck that bares the weight of a heavy square skull - resembling more bull than deer - and its gargantuan artillery; both of which being the most prominent indication of his skeletal bulk. Being top-heavy, his posture is almost restricted to one position when still. A long body means legs are stationed far apart to accommodate and spread the weight, and his head is always held high in balance giving him a kingly air, which is also reflected in his fluid and powerful gait. At full speed, there is very little that can stop his bulldozer momentum.
Antlers - Fortress by design. Supernumerary, elongated branched-antlers where the beam has grown outward behind him, tines growing upward; his outer primary tines are the largest and grow into long forward-facing pincers. There are 12 tines per pedical and are split into four sets, all of which together are specifically designed to interlock with any antler type. Central clusters suited to single beam pronged deer, outer and brow tines designed for the larger supernumerary or palmated antlers such as Irish Elk. They are incredibly thick, astonishingly heavy, and an impenetrable defense that cannot be breached.
Visual - His coat is made up of dense, varying shades of grey that give him an overall arsenic colouration, but his mane and face are the most striking; dirty white for the most part with a carnelian-red pattern draped around the contours of his beady-eyed, frill-cheeked face. The white of his mane continues only half-way under his stomach, and ends in a point with a very thin separating line of charcoal.
There is also an enormous patch-scar that tears through the left side of his neck which is coupled with the nick in his ear on the same side. This was given to him by the Spring Wolf in 2010*.
Conqueror - Being the placid giant he is, Dag never lowers his antlers without reason; rarely has his combat been seen within the peaceful confines of the forest. However, heed the warning of his scar. Events leading up to his present existence shed further light on this war-hardened battler. There is something prehistoric and almost predatory about his combat - the misfortune of colliding with such a monolith is simply an all-sensory deluge.

    Antediluvian }
Iaurdagnire's story has become that of Endless Forest legend, starting in 2009 and ending in 2013. His story involves the Forest, the Gods, and the spiritual embodiment of the Seasons whom he served with perpetual lives as a God-given duty. Dag wanted to escape, and continually fought for a life and death that was his to dictate; to cease to be a higher power's fuel for intellectual evolution. But in learning about his place in the world and a way to put an end to his duties, he became even more lost. Ultimately, Dag's story is an exploration of purpose and morality in all forms, and almost entirely community driven. The community has been involved in each section in some way, and these are referred to as "Season Events" by those who have participated; the events were designed for everyone to enjoy, regardless of the story.

    Core }
Ravenflight - The Queen His love and greatest treasure; indescribably bound to her like no other. Their history had long ran parallel, and although their paths crossed only rarely in bygone years, they were connected by a deep empathy for their respective trials and desire for freedom. Behind closed doors they each played a part in helping each other fulfill a purpose in order to escape, and then found themselves lost without it. When Dag returned to the forest, Ravenflight tried to help him re-adjust through her understanding of what it is like to feel truly detached from the world around you. As they spent more time together, Dag increasingly began to dote on her and fell very deeply in love. Captivated by her in every way. Ravenflight has given him a new purpose, and Dag is utterly devoted to her continued happiness. Adores and is enchanted by everything she is.
Cry - The Ace Guardian; a source of security; life indebted to. Dag has known Cry for a long time, and upon his return was healed by him (see 'War Drum' Act V). Displays an affectionate "big brother" attitude towards the small white stag when around him.
Ephiré - The Jack An unspoken natural affinity; indebted to. The two giants have much in common with the way they cope with the world around them, and it is this understanding that lead Ephiré to become the catalyst in Dag's journey (see 'Catalyst' story arc Act I-III). Has a profound trust in him and admires him greatly. He is also the only deer within the forest to have witnessed the full brunt of Dag's combat.
Virgil/The Red - Part of the Fortress' strong foundations. One of his oldest friends of a different world to his own, wild and unrestricted. At the time of his trials, Dag thought of Virgil's existence as "real", moreso than his own and one he wanted to achieve. Events between then and now strongly effected Dag, but their friendship remains strong and has been rebuilt. [to be re-written]

  • Bonus Material

Autumn '09 Act III: I'd choose right now, was the first song 'read along' blog to appear on TEFC (to my knowledge!).
War Drum '12 Act V: Your Supremacy was my most successful community-wide event, where 68 TEF players participated.

Antediluvian - There are two reasons why I chose to use this word for Dag and his story. The first is that it was originally a biblical word meaning the time between the creation of earth and the great flood/deluge myth; a narrative in which a great flood is sent by a deity to destroy in an act of divine retribution (the Spring Wolf). A parallel of this is a metaphor of rebirth, which was the premise of Dag's rebellion against his original purpose. Secondly, the modern meaning for this word is simply to be old fashioned/ancient in the most possible way (as if they lived before the great flood).

Playing card references - A great metaphor for life in general, where one must simply play the hand they are dealt, good or bad. One of my favourite card games is Whist, where the object of the game is to simply score the most "tricks" by having the highest card in the suit that is being played. Therefore the cards you would like to see in your hand are the highest: Ace, King, Queen and Jack. The Jack is a good card to have, because it will generally weed out the other players higher cards in their desire to win the hand, so it is more common for you to lose that round but win others as you have exhausted the other players good cards. The Jack was the role of Ephiré, in Jack to the King. He killed Dag - referenced as the King - and although the hand appeared to be lost, the game was not over. The card that trumped Velocity's hand was the Ace, Cry, in Your Supremacy.

As a character, Dag was originally inspired by naturally powerful characters like Mufasa from The Lion King and Riki from Ginga Nagareboshi Gin - characters the hero-type protagonists typically look up to for guidance and leadership.

OokamiAzura's picture

One must wonder when too much

One must wonder when too much sugar is too much.

Like a quick flurry of snow, she races through the Forest, though not in distress or anxiety.

There's a rush of happiness making her blood run fervent, running and giggling like a school girl who just met the crush of their life.

Within the wind, she picks up a familiar scent. And she races towards it.

She skid stops, managing to stop just inches from the large stag, wondering if it was possible to bounce off of him if she ever crashed into him.

Taking a moment to catch her breath, her smile stretches her face, pure and joyous.

No one had ever seen the girl this happy before.

I'm here! If only for a little bit!

She plops down near Dag, rolling around on the ground, tufts of white fur leaving a small pile on the forest floor. Her laughter, loud and innocent, echoes through the air. Flopping over to one side, her back against the stag's side, she breathes deeply, letting her rush die slowly.

I can't wait to be back here more often...I hope life is treating you well.

Iaurdagnire's picture

As the white blur came

As the white blur came closer, Dag braced himself for impact; chuckling when she skidded so professionally to a halt.
"Lacie! I have missed you, but I'm glad to see you so happy." He smiles proudly, quite flattered that she ran to him with so much vigor.
"I am always being treated well, hm-hm, and all is well with you I trust?"

It was the third and last

It was the third and last night of this months' full moon that an all too familiar Hart came to visit. However he, for a change, did not make any attempt to hide himself until the very last moment - expecting that the magnificent stag he decided to visit this evening knew him all too well to be any bit surprised.
Iaurdagnire had become good at predicting him. And Virgil had trust in him so immense that he was most comfortable this fact.

Recently, the red stag was asked that he kept Iaurdagnire up to date with events that have occured throughout the forest, so after a long while of comfortable silence, the deer started to update Dag with very short stories of newly wed couples, and little information a magpie in the birch forest informed him of(which brought a very subtle smile from Virgil as he spoke of it).
He then proceeded to tell Iaurdagnire of the more amusing times he had missed. Such as spontaneous little parties over nothing joined by Walter. Which then lead to confrontations with Saosin that were not unexpected.
There was a brief mentioning of a cheeky little fawn among these little updates. And more "gossip" from the birds regarding another potential future couple. (Only you know this one so I'm not gonna post it C:)

Not too much had been missed it seemed, but there was few things that seemed not too serious, but sweet. The Hart then paused, then mentioned that he had been hearing thunder in his head; such an oppressive sound, thunder is. One can be standing in sunlight but hear a distant storm slowly rolling in soon to strike. Perhaps Virgil is hinting that something might be about to happen, or maybe it was just the lead in his head talking again.

Hm.

C': This was so cute, handy links! Thanks for those, I like being able to keep in the loop so to speak.
I am well (: we rescued a hummingbird yesterday who had a broken wing. We had seen her flying around very clumsily the past few days. She's at a nice wild bird hospital now which is good. I would have taken pictures of her (she was so gorgeous) but the hummingbirds really don't like my camera when I've tried to take pictures of them, so I didn't want to give her a heart attack 8D I mean if you were the size of a bumble bee, something 100 times your size isn't very nice... haha.

----

Dag listened intently to his friends stories; if there was one stag who always knew what what going on, it was Virgil. He was the equivalent of Dag's daily newspaper. It had always been difficult for Dag to keep up with the goings on in the forest right from the start, though he did as well as he could. Perhaps he didn't feel the need to know the business of others so didn't seek out the information himself, but it was always good to at least show interest when these stories were told to him.

After Virgil had finished, Dag nodded and thanked him, but not before saying,
"I have also heard that the Enigma has finally been found, even though it is clear there is more to them than they've given; I remember seeing them on occasion."
Dag sighed in a full, satisfied manner,
"Thunder, hm? I wonder if something exciting is afoot."
Verycrazygirl's picture

The night air was

The night air was particularly refreshed after a recent downpour of rain, but the sky was clear again, letting way for a half moon and a brightly starlit sky.

The Hart offered a deep bow then took his place beside the giant again, this time facing the opposite way, as though he was keeping an eye out for something. He had to be extra vigilant for some reason. Who knows, wild animals get into all sorts of things, and not all will necessarily know what it is, perhaps he'll speak of it soon.

He liked to just sit quietly until the smallest gestures were made to encourage him to talk.

Such silence probably lasted around an hour this time. Only one of his ears stood erect as he started to update of curious things, and of a friend finding one of his voices. Tension had been everywhere around the forest as of late, and near everyone was feeling the effects of it.

He then spoke of not one, but two fawns Iaurdagnire may be interested in meeting someday.
Something may not be right with a certain respectable villain. Maybe Dag should find time to express himself.

The Collector wasn't the only one curious. The Hart's dear friend Poltergeist was gathering a list of sorts too.
On the subject of Poltergeist, Virgil humerously mentioned that Iaurdagnire should be careful not to underestimate her; she can be dangerous!

The stag had mentioned previously he could hear thunder, and this time a storm did strike. However, it was not quite as big as anticipated. Not only that, the distant rumblings were still present, and louder than before.

He reported with a subtle frown that Kaoori had been attacked and severely hurt by Walter, it was fortunate she had so many to look after her at the time...

"Enigma isn't safe..."

Usually he left encounters

Usually he left encounters between several days, but this time he came early. Not only that, he came at dawn; the forest was misty, cool, difficult to catch anothers scent until they were up close.

The deer sat (more like ungracefully collapsed) behind the tree, so that he was not in sight unless the greater one looked; Virgil had gotten into a fight. With a few gouges across the flank and chest, he wasn't looking all that well at all.
But he will heal, physically at least.

The Hart layed his head down, ears completely flat against his head and sighed deeply. He came with very grave news.
"S-sir..."
He wasn't there, but news travels fast around this forest, especially to those who listen.

There was very conflicted emotions about this news. Yes, Walter had done crimes and was very deserving of such punishment.
But it didn't have to be death.
The Demon Gazelle was surprisingly a very important character to The Sentinel.
It's unlikely he'll ever be able to forgive those involved in the killing.

((Unfinished Snalf art for you!))

The small doe quietly sat

The small doe quietly sat next to Dag, towering over her, although today he seemed even more larger. Littered with wounds, her eyes seemed dull and lifeless. She had been through much. After a time, she spoke, and one would have to prick their ears hard to listen.

Sir Dag.. I.. I'm so troubled. I fear I may have lost a brother.. maybe it is my fault.. but.. I am in so much pain. I didn't mean for it to happen.. Wesker only did what any stag would do when his mate was in trouble..

She closed her eyes, sitting quietly.
Iaurdagnire's picture

vcg Dag's ears folded back in

Dag's ears folded back in an unsettled way when listening to Virgil. He could smell blood.
The giant sat there motionless and digested the news that Walter had been killed, but showed no sympathy or any clear emotion; it seemed - to him - that the way he died was an inevitable one, and one that Dag expected sooner or later.
Though, he knew that deep down others knew this as well, no matter how much the Demon meant to them.
And so, he said nothing; he didn't need to.

-------------

Kaoori
"Oh..."
Dag's head turned to find the small doe curled up tight in a tense ball next to him. He leaned and managed to reach just far enough to clean some of her wounds, which wasn't hard to do with such a large tongue. When doing so, he listened to her cracked, worried voice.
"You are right," he said eventually, "I do not know the full details of what took place, but we never mean for these things to happen. Furthermore, we have no control over those who care for us in those situations... It is not your fault, and it is not Wesker's fault.
Demons dig their own graves, but lay in them with the help of others."

Ravyn
The hummingbird didn't make it /: I knew it wouldn't, but it was a conservation species so we had to take it to a wild bird hospital anyway. It died because of a broken wing, and an egg that it couldn't lay. It is possible it was effected by pesticides from a flower it drank from, so it was sent to a science school of some description for educational purposes (:

Clear skies, young moon and a dimly lit forest.

He takes his place beside the great stag. Looking far healthier than before save for a couple of scabs in their later stages.
Time passes.
"Have you seen the falling stars tonight?" The Hart eventually started in a quiet contented voice.
Nights like these brought back fond memories indeed.

There was more silence.
"There have been performances you have been absent from, sir. Not only from the gods, but the Dancing Twins have been frequenting recently..."
A fellow storyteller like yourself had shared a wonderful tale to us by the bridge.

.. It would seem dear Poltergeist is nearing the end of her pregnancy... does not time fly by, hm~

Yesterday was indeed a dramatic day, we came so close to loosing a dear friend."

Posting this here incase Fin deletes it before you have a chance to read it. (: Hope that's okay with you, Fin!

Scabbed hooves broke the glassy surface of the pond, sending ripples across the stillness to disturb the water lilies floating nearby. The butterfly stag hobbled through the shallow water, his weight sinking in the soft sand. His wounds protested with dull pain as the water rose to his chest, finally spilling over his back, as he gracelessly lowered himself to his knees and collapsed.

He knew what he was about to do. Never once had he considered it, even when so many had done so before. The pond was never a watery graveyard to him, but a peaceful, soothing escape from the worries of the world. He remembered the many times in his past he had napped in these waters, allowing the hum of the dragonfly's wingbeats and the whispers of cattails blowing in the breeze to lull him to sleep. The deaths that had occurred at this sacred place did little to tarnish his pleasant memories of it. So now, as the stag listened to the familiar sounds for what would be his last time, a fondness for the pond grew in him, and he knew he wouldn't have wanted to die any other way.

He had hurt her. Again. Her pain was all his fault. He had seen hope in mending his first wrong, but not the second one. He had glimpsed her this morning... it had been the first time he had seen her totally consumed by her scarf, the entity of her emotions. He had never really understood what the scarf's purpose was. But over the course of the days, he had noticed it increase in length, though it was hardly noticeable to him. But when he laid eyes on the dark doe with empty eyes and the a coat of dancing colors, he understood everything, and his heart broke. He never wanted to see her like that again. What he was doing, he knew, was for the better. He would be sparing not just her, but countless others, of the pain he was sure to cause again, and again...

Slowly, the stag allowed his eyes to close as he dipped the snout of his skull into the crystal water. His neck lowered, his head going down with it, and he adjusted himself to rest comfortably in the white sand. His eyes still closed, he thought of every happy memory he could come up with in order to distract himself from the ache in his lungs. Small bubbles rose to the surface as he let out his last breath. White spots flashed behind his eyes, and his lungs screamed for air, but he forced himself to be still. The image of a small, white doe with a colorful scarf was the last memory his mind could conjure before the world went dark...

"Foolish creature."

Air filled his lungs. The stag gasped, gulping for breath, his chest heaving. The tremendous ache in his lungs gradually faded as he inhaled frantically, then more calmly. He was breathing again, but the darkness hung over his eyes like a curtain. They weren't even opening on his command. When he tried to move, he found he could not. Beginning to panic, he thrashed around in vain.

"Be still. You are not dead."

The voices belonged to neither male nor female. There were two, but they spoke as one. It was both beautiful and frightening. The stag found it in himself to lay calmly in his bed of sand. He couldn't understand how he was able to breath, for he knew he was still beneath the pond's surface; he could feel the water around him.

"What are you doing, Esll?"

The question bothered him. It was obvious what he was trying to do, didn't the voices understand that? The stag found he was unable to speak, so he thought his answer instead. "I don't want to exist anymore. I made a mistake... I allowed myself to get too close to others, to her. I hurt her. This is the only way to fix what I've done wrong."

"Have you considered the consequences of your actions?"

"Their pain for me at the news of my death will not outlast the pain I would continue to bring down on them if I were to live."

"Then you have a lot to learn, stag. Your decision has been one of selfishness and inconsideration. You are letting your insecurities feed your actions. We have watched this, in both lives we have seen this happen. You cannot leave this place yet, child. There is still so much for you to see and learn."

"Both... lives? What do you mean?"

Vivid images came charging into his mind, blinding his vision. A magnificent grand piano... a white mansion overlooking a garden of colorful flowers... an elegant carriage abandoned by the side of the road... a ballroom filled with graceful masks and flowing evening gowns... a beautiful young woman with raven-black hair tied back with a red ribbon... Esll started, awed by these series of images. An overwhelming peace filled his breast and, although he didn't recognize what he had seen, it filled him with admiration and hope.

"Get up, Esll."

Fear immediately barged into his state of serenity. "I can't... I cannot bear the shame of my actions by facing them. Please, let me stay as I am. I can't face them."

"You cannot be afraid of others forever. Your friends love you, Esll. Love them back."

"I can't... they will hate me, refuse me. I can't..."

"Get up."

The stag got up.

This time, Virgil will stay with Iaurdagnire until dawn.
Unless the final week ahead is to be heavy with drama. The Sentinel may not be visiting anymore.

"A fallen star?"
Dag nosed the lush grass in front of him as a quiet suggestion for her to eat. He understood that Kaoori had been under a lot of hardship in such a short amount of time, so she was bound to have not been eating properly.
"If you eat, you'll sleep better..." He smiled and tilted his head encouragingly. When he did so, the scar on his neck wrinkled. There was a covering of very fine fur on it now, so it didn't look unpleasant.
"You can stay by me as long as you like." The stag liked to think that his fatherly attitude to everyone meant that he was a safe place to be, especially for those who felt they could not bear to stay anywhere else.

"I do not wish to find you half-dead upon my return." There was a faint growl in his voice; could he be angry? No, his emotional range didn't seem to tip the scale so easily as others. It was getting there though.
Getting there.

Azura
"M-hm."
His eyes were not as bright as usual; she took the words right out of his mouth. Sighing, he reached over and placed his neck over hers, stroking her back and forth in another imaginary-itch, secure way. As much for his sake as for hers... Though he wouldn't admit it, he didn't feel as connected to his friends as he thought right now. Lacie was a sure thing.
"I'll set things right before Polt's fawns see the world." Dag spoke with confidence,

"Starting with two brothers of mine if they fail to calm down before I see them."

She could feel the detachment, and felt a certain tension from his last words. Still, the rubbing was helping to calm her down somewhat; though careful minds could feel her heart become heavy from anxiety not quite ready to leave.

She stretches her legs out, now looking like an animal that had slipped on ice, all fours splayed out. The stretching was a natural reflex for her to combat stress; she would personally say it helped her breathe a bit better too.

But she wasn't here to make others upset, and in an attempt to smother any last minute anxiety, she breathes deeply, her ears drooping, as she nonchalantly reaches over to nibble on the stag's front leg.

It's...almost time for them to arrive, la~...

Time never stood still. She knew that much. She only hoped she would be able to see Polt's children at some point.

I'm worried...about Virgil and Saosin...frankly...I think the rivalry's gone too far...

She nibbles more, feeling unease again.

If anything, she always failed at masking things.

And she hated that.

I don't want either of them to get killed over this...

Kaoori
A caring smile sat on his face as he watched the tiny doe curl up comfortably.
He would not move for as long as she was there.

Azura
Dag was silent for a while, thinking. As an idle distraction, he decided to begin grooming the base of Lacie's neck - as a parent would to sooth their fawn. Funny, how no matter how large a deer you are, it is almost impossible to not submit to such a basic instinct. He hoped it would relieve some anxiety, no matter how relaxed she looked splayed out in the grass.

"I sincerely hope it does not come to that," he spoke quietly, "and... I sincerely hope that me being in the forest is not the only reason they decide to show restraint..."
His voice trailed off, sounding genuinely... sad.
"I know that Virgil is gravely injured. I hope that is all it takes for him to realize it has gone too far."
He ended with a smile,
"It will be okay."

She feels her eyes become

She feels her eyes become slightly heavy. The gesture was comforting, something she needed right about now.

She listens carefully to his words, hearing the sad tone in it. A deep sigh escapes her, like it always did. She laughs quietly, wondering how humorous it would be if someone thought she had breathing problems.

Still, anxiety was persistent, but Dag's grooming was smothering it soundly enough.

Dag...when the cat's away, the mice will play. Destructively.

Her body is what feels heavy now, almost like she doesn't want to move. And she hopes she won't have to anytime soon.

I...hope you're right.

A brief, awkward pause, before she suddenly asks,

Has the world...failed us? Somehow...I feel like it has...

"Hm-hm-" There it was, that

"Hm-hm-"
There it was, that signature chuckle meaning he had been tickled just right by another's musings. Mice indeed...
"Fail?" a single brow raised, stretching his face markings; they made his face a very animated thing. Perhaps that is why when he told stories, he could feel every stare burning him as they watched his expressions.
"... I'm left speechless. Perhaps I'm tired... All I know is that the world has not failed us." He smiles warmly,

"Will you stay for a while?"

She is suddenly embarrassed

She is suddenly embarrassed at having shared a thought.

My mind is toying with me.

She shakes her head, forcefully shoving away any other thoughts. Though she isn't looking at him, she can feel his warm smile.

She finds herself smiling back.

I'll stay for as long as I am wanted.

Oh dear, it would seem little

Oh dear, it would seem little Robin thinks that tying violets into Dag's antlers would be the most perfect way to celebrate Fathers Day. Hope he doesn't mind.

Azura "Wanted?" He nods and

Azura
"Wanted?"
He nods and gives a short... almost teasing laugh, but not in the least bit mocking.
"My dear, as if anyone can turn to you and say 'be gone'!" A wide nose nudged her playfully, well... as playfully as it could, sitting down.

"You're forever welcome in my company whether I ask it or not. I always look forward to seeing you, even if all I see is a white blur scuttling past to avoid the crowd."

Vee
That. Is. Adorable.

Hi! That wasn't me you were following I'm afraid, I only got back from my vacation today so haven't been in the forest yet. There is someone who has a similar pictogram to mine though, and there is also someone who uses the same set as my deer (:

However, I do feel like I've seen your pictogram... Perhaps we've seen each other before (:

I love this blog so much. :>

Mmph, sometimes I can't help

Mmph, sometimes I can't help but feel I'm not welcome. Not necessarily with you, it's others.

She sighs deeply again, her face scrunching slightly. It gives way to a wide smile though.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. That means a lot to me. It truly does.

She scoffs playfully at the crowd remark.

There are times I can be persuaded to play in a crowd. Most days, it simply gives me a headache though.

I just have to say that you

I just have to say that you have great taste in music. Smiling

Thanks Glory and Fin! (:
Psst, Fin, I'm so not a Esll x Noelle fan girl... THE SLY DOG. XD

Azura stop the whipping, I bruise like a peach D:
"Hm, I can relate to not feeling welcome. But the way I see it, one must at least acknowledge someone else even if they are sent on their way. Far better than being ignored or scowled at, don't you think?"
Dag paused, tilting his head to the sky in such a way to suggest that the very fabric of the universe was being pondered. It was like watching a man stare out a window whilst swirling a cupped glass of brandy in one hand, rubbing his chin with the other.
"Polite, or simply old-fashioned? I don't see how any of it is different from saying 'good morning' to a neighbour, if anyone does that anymore." He shrugs and brushes off his own comments,
"Well, I suppose we all have prior engagements and distractions that make us all seem unapproachable at times. As long as we take the time to play in between those headaches, hm?" He grinned, one eye half-closed on the cusp of a wink.

(FFFF, I DO IT OUT OF LOVE. D8 )

Hmmm...sure. Even if it is a bit awkward...

She always felt awkward being greeted if she was simply walking past. A part of her never wanted to stop, but she would anyway, if only to be polite.

Both, the way I see it. Though I doubt neighbors even greet each other anymore...Time doesn't wait. Neither does the World. Everyone's always busy busy ~....

There's a sad hint to her tone, but she tries to keep it as smothered as possible.

One could only take so much melancholy from one individual.

She half chuckles.

For me...it's laziness. And a bit of just not being comfortable with strangers. They....put me off. Especially when they act so familiar...

She shakes her head, not quite sure if she should really be talking about her feelings concerning such.

Of course. You're one of the few that can spur me to play...

A sudden thought crosses her mind, and she tempts asking it.

Mind as well bite the bullet.

Have I...ever annoyed or disappointed you, or anyone else...?

She shakes her head again, suddenly feeling embarrassed and vulnerable.

Sorry, it just...crossed my mind...
