The Diary of Seed, 10-3-11

[=#006400]
I've taken up running again. I used to, long ago, take quite a bit of enjoyment from athletics. I get a drink and take off. There's no planning in a course -- only moment. The forest is full of obstacles, to a runner of fine enough quality. Leap over stumps, zig-zag between trees. Follow paths of light. It's effortlessly beautiful, easy in its motion. There's no thought beyond the route, or of thinking about the route -- it grows recursive, self-inflicting, spiraling and devouring inward, like a person seeing through the eyes of their own reflection.

Eventually, I come and stop by Da Drinkplaats. I've not much mood to be a bunny or a dove when I'm alone (except, perhaps, the shrug on the illusion that I am not myself), but I love it. This and the crying idol are all the sacred waters from which I wish to drink. The water is clean and pops with magic, sending sparks, almost painful and shockingly clean, in the mouth. It is one of the most beautiful places in the forest, and certainly, it is the only place in the inhabited Forest where the rabbits come out. They are so still, and quiet, their noses trembling in the air. Perhaps they realize how powerful and clean the fountain is -- perhaps they love it because, as I like to suspect, they are not all they seem. Or perhaps they love it like I love pretty words, odd metaphors and sweet similes, stories and poems and songs -- they love it because it is more magical than them, and better, and more noble, and because of this, they cannot be torn away. (...I wonder if they love it like I love, loved, will still love, her -- but then I realize I have thought about it, and besides which, thought the same sentence twice in a row.)

I meet a few strangers: cuddling friends, a deer having a snack, an admirer of the fountain...

Kaikias - Mr. Fawnbrain

Name: Kaikias (pronounced Ki-qu-ee-us )
Kaikias' "deer name" would roughly be translated as "wind disturbing a water surface", translated in human tongues he was named after one of the ancient greek wind gods.
Species: Sambar Deer (full grown about 16hh) No. 29 on the chart
Current Height: 13hh (about size 13)
Diary

Build: slender, but slightly taller than the normal TEF deer (1,30 m to withers) antlers are rather short and small and messily decorated with flowers and moss
Coat: dark brown winter fur
Face: Skull

Character:
Kaikias is curious and interested in most things around him. He is highly distractable, unsteady in his decisions and has a really poor sense of direction. If he gets out of sight, he will be lost in a minute. Due to his very first experience with other deer in the forest he is often insecure about the feelings of others towards him, so for example though others might be very welcoming and friendly, Kaikias always wonders if he should stay with them and is afraid he will be chased away, so he might now and then stay behind on purpose or stray in some distance from the group.

He is fascinated by power. This includes the typical physical power of a stag, but also more subtile powers and deer that have "something" about them.

He finds joy in casting spells on others, but is not amused if others cast spells on him.

Behaviour:
Sleeps only closely next to trees, stones or walls. Seldomly on the top of the stone plates at the playground. Will accompany lonely sitting fawns (not to adopt them or out of any "herding" behaviour, just because he disliked to be lonely when he was little)
He acts foolish and is very often running around, jumping, "pole bends" around trees.
He is a fawn in his brain, and will be for quite a while, regardless of his outer appearance

When he is facing aggression against him: smaller deer, will get an agressive or a confused response (depending on his state of mind); bigger deer will chase him away successfullly

________& other deer ?__________

Aquaintances A-z

- Ammy (very protective doe) -long time no see
- Fawn - used to see her more often, but hasn't found her for a long time now
- Gehirn (intimidating at first until... needs to find out how to do that bunny spell again... ) Gehirn has evolved into a role model, somehow. Still it is somehow strange around him he always thinks twice if he is doing something wrong. The Irish Stag seems to enjoy his company usually though.
- Herla (fascinating, has that "something" though she seems so small an fragile (he is now bigger than her)... try to breath the water like her ended in almost drowing and a coughing attack... he is almost sure she won't chase him away suddenly
- The Lich King - first encounter with him was quite interesting, retreating from the stag was a new experience, he is very eager to meet him again, though it might not be a good idea
- Kylikki - good friend
- Maith - fun to play around with
- Neruk - Aquaintance, found her injured at the Crying Idol, she is a strange doe, who does strange things, like stealing fawns and getting beaten up for that...
- Seed - http://www.endlessforest.org/community/Seed totally awesome to play and do foolish things, beware the sillyness of a double spell attack Laughing out loud
- Oceanoc - long time no see
- The Red http://www.endlessforest.org/community/node/53523 A strange but interesting stag in the company of Gehirn and Herla. Seems afraid of Kaikias' face
- unnamed fawn www.endlessforest.org/community/Ruskaristi
- Uroluk http://endlessforest.org/community/node/66129 fun fawn to play around with
