Extra information
Verve is here to offer her crafting skills to the needy! This is an interaction blog, where your deer asks for Verve's service. She can paint faces, skull masks, antlers, anything. Her other speciality is beadwork, she makes necklaces and any trinket you can think of.
Depending on the difficulty of the task, Verve may ask something in return.
Anything requested will be drawn by me, your deer can give pointers of what they'd like!
You are in no way obliged to use the designs or put them into your deer their design. You are allowed to do with these, when made for you, as you wish, no permission needed.
In case you're curious, Verve's biography is located
here.
If you have questions, ask!
Sounds fine by me! Will you

The tall black doe had settled in the birch, next to the tree she held her crafting supplies in. Going through different fabrics, she seemed to be picking out supplies for her next cape. It was time for a summer-cape, really.
She saw the red doe approach in the distance, though was at first not sure if she was here for her or not. It had been a long time since anyone had approached her for crafts. When it became clear she was indeed approaching Verve, the tall doe got up to greet them politely, returning their bow. "That would be me." She smiled in a friendly manner, trying to reassure the somewhat unsure sounding doe. "Is there something I could help you with?" She asked, her eyes silently gliding over the red doe's trinkets. The skull was one she had never seen before. Not with a horn like that at least. Otherwise it looked like a deers. A little damaged, possibly.. Not strange if used as a mask. She found herself rambling off in her mind when she realized she was staring. "Ah, apologies." Verve smiled a little awkwardly. "You're wearing an interesting mask."

--
Baroness blinked from under the skull she wore, before she dipped her head slightly to show the item better to the tall other. "I came about my mask, actually... It belonged to someone dear, and I wish to have it... repaired and fixed up... I had intended to do it myself, but I cannot bring myself to... So I thought I would find someone else to... As you can see, it is rather worn and tarnished... I am willing to trade anything you need." She straightened up and gave a hopeful look, though the look was lost behind the coverings of the skull helm protecting the doe's head. Her eyes searched the other doe for any physical signs that she may not want to undertake this task, long ears pressed forth in a manner of alertness.
I suppose that could be
--
Verve stretched out her neck towards the skull when the Baroness dipped her head somewhat to show it. "I see." She answered, inspecting the damage of being worn as she spoke about it. "It just shows some signs of being a mask." She smiled as she retreated her head again, looking at the doe herself instead. Trade? Oh, yeah. What did she need? The tall doe glanced at her stash. "Uhm. Whatever you can come by, I suppose? Don't make it too difficult for yourself. Any type of " Again the reassuring smile. "But I'm sure I can fix your mask up. Would you like an extra paint job? Maybe you could tell me something about it so I can think of a fitting theme for it? Maybe she didn't want anything extra done though. It'd be easier to show examples if she didn't always give her skulls away. Oh well.
I'll use the split bit. c:
The red female nodded her head quickly. " Whatever you see fit, really... I started to paint the teeth a long, long time ago... but I had to quit... I would enjoy a paint job on it..." The doe paused, thinking for a moment. " The being it belonged to was black... He had an affinity for spider webs, feathers, and bones... He also bore blue tear markings on his face, and the casing over his horn was red..." Her eyes glistened as she spoke, and a smile adorned her normally placid face. " I have a few things stashed away somewhere that I could trade you for your services... I am a bit of a collector of bits and bobs... All I have is bones, feathers, a few snake skins and various types of carnivorous teeth though... I have to leave collections behind as I move from forest to forest... Taking everything with me is a bit hard. How soon would you like me to get the things for you?"
--
Through the warm, sunlight speckled forest the doe traveled, holding a furred sack filled with all sorts of things. Her red eyes searched the forest, following the trail she'd found that was supposed to lead her to where she wanted to go. She looked attentively for the other she searched for, stepping quietly around things that could potentially make loud noises so as to not disturb anyone sleeping in the heightening grasses. She spotted a dark doe next to a birch tree, and approached her. Nadezha stood off to the side, waiting to be invited closer, in case she was intruding on the doe; assuming this was the right deer. The fur skinned bag swayed in her mouth as she looked around, before turning her ruby eyes back to the deer she'd come to see.
There we go! I'll send you
--
Verve nodded, listening to the story first before speaking up again. "That's good information, sure I can do something with that." She looked thoughtful for a moment. "Bits and bobs sounds perfect." Her dark face bore a big smile now. It was good to get back into business. "Oh you travel?" The doe looked exited for a moment, reminded how long she had been in this forest now. Way too long. "How soon.. Hm.. I suppose I should have this done in a week." She had another skull to finish first, but then this one would surely get done. "So if you come back then, I'll have the skull done and we can trade no problem." That was how she usually arranged it.
"Suppose though you'll need to leave the skull with me. It'll be kept safe, I promise."

A few long feathers in a mouth and a skull under her hooves, the doe seemed concentrated on the task at hands. A big beetle helped her painting, and a large row of bees were huddled together on her antlers. When she suddenly noticed a silhouette in the corner of her eyes, the bees seemed to stir for a moment as she lost her concentration. Dropping the feathers and lifting her head, she looked curiously at the new face not so far away, a bag dangling below them. "Hello?" Verve called out, tilting her head somewhat. "Are you looking for someone?" Of course at the sight of the bag she kind of hoped it was her.. Because who didn't get curious of bags?

Good to hear! Thanks XD

Ha thanks! I really like the idea of big bird skulls I think.
Wish I knew, combination of things? I like to pay attention to characters that get made or die, and what kind of skulls those would have. If anything inspires me I might take it on. And from there on it's usually drawing on a skull until I'm pleased, paying attention to how it'd curve and stuff. I tend to keep to thick lines because that seems to be the most used in african culture too, fingerpaint and the likes. And then yeah. Colors is either me playing with hues and stuff or poking people on skype to ask for a cool color scheme, which is always fun.
So no not really a specific place.. I suppose mostly the forest and the options people give me in trades on this blog too.
Got it! Thank you so much!

Baroness nodded her head solemnly, and the mask seemed to shimmer for a moment as she lowered her head to the ground once more. The mask simply fell off, expanding a bit to reveal it was a bit bigger than it looked on her face, hinting that some magic had been used to make it fit so well.
It clattered to the ground with its broken beads and tattered feathers making hollow noises around it. The strings slipped from her figure and she nuzzled the beloved object towards the doe, her ears falling back uncertainly against her head. " Please take care of it... I will bring you your payment in a week? I shall try and get some uniquities to repay you for this." She raised her head slowly and watched Verve, somewhat shy now that the mask wasn't covering her face as it had been doing for so long.
---
The blue doe shifted forth, her feathers prickling up slightly. She dropped the bag so she could speak, clearing her throat slightly as she stood a respectable distance from the other. " Pardon me, miss. But are you Verve?" She queried, bobbing her head slightly as if that would aid in her question's asking.
Farelia: uuuAAA and then I
uuuAAA and then I completely forgot HAHA But atleast I got free time now. I’ve started on the design for Baroness so hopefully that one is done soon.
Also I emailed you the high res version of that engraved skull, did you ever recieve that?
-----
Verve’s expression shifted ever so slightly when she realized the mask had been enhanced magically. It was that she didn’t have to do anything drastic to it, otherwise she’d worry about possibly breaking the spell. Magic wasn’t her cup of tea. Not that she had anything against it, quite the contrary.
”A week should be plenty of time.” The doe smiled reassuringly, reading the worry upon the others’ face. This was going to be quite the job she realized upon getting a better look of the many decorations the skull held. But she’d manage. ”I’ll do my best to make it into something you enjoy.” She took another good look at the doe in front of her, taking in her features. They’d come in handy during the design process.
-----
The tall doe blinked curiously at the figure in front of her with the bag. ”Yes, I am Verve. Is there something I can do for you?” She pushed the skull aside as to not seem rude, focusing her attention on the doe. ”I can do repair jobs on jewelry, or design something for you. Anything like that of use?” Just besides her a couple of skulls rested in the grass. Some finished, some unfinished.

Poppyflower: Where do you
Where do you people read you need to give anything in return! XD If anything, I'd like it if people'd come up with ideas for an item their deer could give in return. No art. Possibly a description of said item. And if they want it for an upcoming, not-existing character yet or whatever they can have it without giving said item back. Then I'll just make something up or else I'll run out of resources for Verve hehe.
Firefli:
She'd be very welcome to! Would be fun to work with her design!
Spider:
Very glad you like it. Again, I don't ask for things in return for these. But in this case I would rather not hand it to you for personal reasons. Sorry. You're welcome to email me about those, but I'm not going to go into this any deeper on this blog.

I read you were only accepting skull paintings, so even though these are small rabbit skulls it'd be fine to use the deer skull lines. If you're not open or something though then I'll quietly scoot away. xD
__
Hälla's eyes were bright and enthusiastic, glowing with the pride and elation of a new parent. On a long, thin line of tree root, three small rabbit skulls were hung. Perhaps not large enough to wear as helms, but rather as necklaces. And that was how she carried them now. The spring in her step dimmed slightly as she neared the tree, where the large black doe sat, and she contained herself for the sake of politeness. She had heard from her cousin, as he wore a skull painted by she, of where to obtain these gifts. Not being nearly talented enough herself to add just the right, special touch, she decided to go to Verve instead. Stranger or not.
"Hello!" she greeted brightly, dipping her head so the necklace slid over her neck. The rabbit skulls hit the ground with a quiet thump. "Are you Verve, miss?" the grey doe asked, tilting her head to the side hesitantly.
Oh yes! I got it! c: Thank
________
Baroness felt the need to mention something before she departed, kicking one of her back legs slightly to be rid of a nagging fly. " You don't have to worry about the magic, it's embedded in the skull. The original creature this skull belonged to housed much magic, even in his bones." She cooed softly. Her head dipped in gratitude an she turned to walk away. "Thank you. I shall return soon with that I have said I would get." And with that, albeit nervously, the tall red doe would begin leaving the area, both ears held back to listen to the sounds of the doe and her precious skull.
_______
Nadezdha nodded slightly, thinking before she spoke the words, making a request. "I am in need of a gift for my son... He has been a blessing to me, and so I want to get him something... fitting. He consists of golds and earthy browns... and will be a great stag one day... He recently lost his favorite mask and is in need of another... I do not want to ask for you to make something fresh if it is too much trouble, but I do have things to trade for a mask you may already have and are willing to part with." The doe picked up the bag and trotted closer before dropping it before the larger, long necked doe. From it spilled a few trinkets; glass and wood beads, metal rings, some long colorful strings, and a few of the doe's own feathers. Also came forth some tarnished masks the blue doe had collected over her stay here; One with the resemblance to an Orca, and one a bent wire one made to resemble a butterfly. " I know it is not much... I have more furs and things if you require more, though." Nadezdha stepped back, offering a hopeful, kind smile to the other before her.
Tornpaw: Ah I think I’m
Ah I think I’m starting to work on regular jewelry requests anyway XD It kind of flows into eachother.
--------
She had seen the brightly smiling small doe coming from a distance, but had kept herself silent. It was like one of those moments you saw someone waving in the distance. But if you’d wave back they were actually waving at the person behind you. So maybe Verve had thrown a confused glance around herself before realizing this doe was indeed here for her.
”Hello there!” She greeted in return, getting up to greet the stranger with a bow, her long limbs making a graceful sweep down. ”Yes, I am, how can I help you?” She had caught sight of the rabbit skulls of course, would she possibly want them into a better looking necklace?
--------
Farelia:
Awesome! ♥
--------
”Really? Alright. I’m sure it’ll be fine.” Phew, okay, maybe that did relieve her somewhat. As Baroness left, Verve nodded once more, now turning her attention to the skull. The feathers needed replacement, the cracks needed filling, a nice new paintjob would look good.. She started to silently ponder as she shuffled through her materials, collecting things to use.
--------
”I got gifts!” Verve suddenly grinned brightly, though first hearing the doe out. A mask huh. She glanced towards the skulls she had in the work, a particular one finished. And especially fitting with the colors she mentioned.. When the bag opened, Verve’s ears perked up, her neck stretching just a bit to see it all better. ”Oh no don’t worry, it’s plenty!” Gosh, she didn’t remember many that had rewarded her that plentiful. Not for something non-custom at least. ”I might have something for you. But otherwise I can definitely make something new too if you want.” She answered, turning to her stash and dragging out the large skull she had recently finished. A young moose it looked, painted a dark goldish brown with some brighter lines and black antlers. ”It’s been carved, so it’s not so much a battle mask as a decorative one. At least I wouldn’t recommend using it as a helm.” She would barely ever recommend that with bone, but it seemed plenty others thought otherwise. Which just gave her work so, all was fine. ”If you like it you can definitely have it.” The doe looked eager. She liked seeing her crafts get a new home.
The grey doe smiled quickly
"Really?" Verve smiled. "Well
"Other bones.. Sounds fine by me. Bones don't always tend to be easy for me to come by so, things like that in trade would definitly be fine."
The birch forest is warm with
"Hello," she murmurs in greeting, her voice muffled by the long black feathers that she carefully holds between her lips. Once she's in the clearing she sets them down, each resembling the same feathers that fall gently against the back of her neck. "I had hoped you could help me? I have no demons or haunts, but I have seen your work on the other deer. They're beautiful, truly. Would it be too much to ask for something for myself? My antlers.." she trails off, flicking her eyes up to the arching black bones before they return to Verve's painted face. "I do not fight with them and so they have only been ornamental to me, but I'm afraid they do not look that way. Would you be willing to make something for them?" she asks, bending briefly to nose the feathers at her hooves in a gesture of giving.

Hälla looked visibly
Firefli: She had kept
She had kept herself fairly busy so far, sorting out her inventory. Rows of ants carrying beads passed her by, putting the beads down in different baskets so they’d all be sorted by color. There were times Verve forgot she no longer had hands and had tried to reach into the bowls with her hoof to grab some beads. Resulting into all kinds of beads rolling down her little hill. And she liked being so organized. At a shy ‘hello’, uttered by a doe nearby, her head shot up and the ants seemed to go in all directions for a moment in confusion. They seemed to go back to their little rows before long though. ”Oh hello. Apologies, I wasn’t paying attention..” The tall doe lowered her head in embarrassment, but looked curiously upon this new arrival. Feathers in mouth and all.
Verve looked on with interest as Oseaan spoke. She seemed a gentle doe, the colors on her face very striking. It didn’t take much more than moments before Verve seemed comfortable in her presence. ”Thank you for the compliment! And no, that would be no problem. I’d love to make something for your antlers.” She spoke with enthusiasm, already plotting in her head. Stepping forward to meet the doe properly, Verve lowered her head to inspect the feathers. “Are these what you would like me to use?” She questioned, making sure she got her facts straight before assuming. ”Or do you have any other ideas on how I should do that, or colors you like.. I can also just make it up, of course.” Verve smiled reassuringly. That would be fine too, of course. But she did want to make sure a customer would possibly be satisfied.
Tornpaw:
Verve nodded silently at the smaller doe’s answer. Well phew, she certainly didn’t need that long, although fawns did grow a lot more rapidly than she often realized. She listened silently, nodding once in a while, as Hälla explained about her new additions. Making mental notes of the three siblings, designing the necklaces in her mind as she spoke. Below her legs, large ants seemed to drag about different colored beads, putting them down in three groups of colors. Her mental notes being played out real-time. ”Alright. Well, it’s definitely helpful to know a little about your customers when you’re designing for them.” Hälla’s enthusiasm had visibly rubbed off on Verve, who couldn’t really kick the smile off of her face after hearing the grey doe speak so fondly of her children. ”Haha! Well, thank you, I will certainly do my best this time around as well.” It was always nice to hear her works had been seen about.
The tall doe bowed once more. ”I will start as soon as possible. I have a few things to finish for others first. And well, I guess we have the time huh?” Unless her children were growing up in a week. Then she possibly had a problem.
Farelia:
Psst. I [url=https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/28055354/Css/Verve/Crafts/Forfarelia.png]finished a first version.[/ur] I didn't get to drawing the rows of beads, the ones you had seemed so nice already I figured possibly you'd have some good ideas for those yourself XDD I couldn't seem to stray from what you had. It was starting to take too long so I went back to the basics. But tell me if you like this
Oseaan's eyes brightened at
Verve and her endless legs came to approach the fair doe, but Oseaan was hardly fazed by her height. In fact, she found it familiar and some anxious part of her faded in her presence. "You would? I mean, thank you! And no, I think I have enough of these feathers already," she answered with a short laugh. "They're for you. Even if you hadn't chosen to make me anything, I'd have been glad to give them to you. They're not as colorful as the peacock's blue or the canary's yellow, but perhaps their simplicity would be to someone's liking," she said, reaching for compliments for her feathers in hopes they wouldn't come across as bland. She pushed on, carefully eyeing the beads and jewels Verve wore. "I think I'd enjoy something that was intricate but not bold, much like the spider's web or the veins of a leaf. Perhaps it could hook between my antlers in some way, and then fall to a point on my forehead?"

Baroness took a last look over her shoulder before she traversed out of sight. She felt so strange without that mask on, like her entirety was missing something. But her fur raised when she became excited for the improvements to be made for it, and the way it would feel back on her face; her loyal helm returned to her and alight with color and life once more.
___________
Nadezdha smiled softly and gave an enthusiastic nod when she spotted the skull; it would be perfect for her son. The smile turned into a beam of enthusiasm, and she pointed one of her small golden hooves at it. "He'll love this... I can't wait to gift it to him... If you really don't mind, I'd love to trade for it." The doe looked down at the bag of trade items and furrowed her brow. A few little black birds flew down from the trees and took one of the feathers from the bag, placing it back on the doe's headdress. Then, they delved into the mass of feathers, and she winced, jerking her head to one side, as one of the longer, free flowing peacock-esque feathers was plucked from her neck. The large feather was set down in place of the one she'd just taken back, and seemed to shimmer with the stars themselves. The blue doe smiled confidently, and made no more changes to the trade, her feathers perking curiously towards Verve.

The large white male was returning back to the tall doe who created beautiful things here in the forest upon hearing that she had finished adding something to his bowl. Since the day she left him, he had seemed almost naked without the bowl but knew he would get it back in the end and that was the important part. Noticing Vere now, as she came into view, Radish called out a greeting. "Good morning, Vera." The morning air was chilling seeing as winter was just around the corner now.

Rope in mouth and spider on her cheek, the tall doe seemed to be struggling with what looked to be a pile of fur. Sewing parts together was never an easy task, especially not if it had to be sturdy. She looked up as she heard a voice call out, the spider scrambling down her neck and back into the hollow tree she sat besides. Her yellow eyes looked a little puzzled at the stag. Sure she recognized him, but he did just get her name wrong. The doe chuckled. “Good morning Radish. It’s been a while. You’re here to pick up your bowl right?” She asked, tilting her head slightly which caused the dangling skulls in her antlers to gently bump into one another. “I’ve got it right here! Give me a moment.” Verve jumped up in one quick motion, her red cape swooping behind her. She turned to stick her head into the large hollow tree. Sure enough, it took her but moments before she took out the red bowl. The work she had done on it was fairly simple, drilling tiny holes without causing cracks had taken her the longest. The amulet she had found a long time ago, when on a trip with her friends. She figured it’d hang nicely around his neck. “Here you go, now it won’t slide off so easily.” She said before gently taking the bowl between her lips, offering it to Radish.

Watching, hoping he wasn't bothering the female as she seemed to be in the middle of crafting something. Ears twitched, glancing over the fur as she turned her focus onto him now. "Yes I am, and take your time." Shifting his weight from one side of his body to the other. Once the bowl came into view as it was pulled from the trees belly, he took in what she had added to it. It looked wonderful and the item that hung from it rather stunning; like a gem almost. "Oh my, thank you so much." Taking it and placing it on the floor so he could slip it onto his head before lifting his neck now with the bowl on his head. The strings helped it snug to his head rather snug. A good fit. "This is exactly what I needed, you are truly a clever soul." His grateful smile wide, then seemed to remember something. Twisting to pull a wrapped item that was loosely hanging on his side; offering it to Verve. "For you, for helping me with this." It was a bundle of some dyed herbs. White sage, moss, lavender and dragon-blood blossoms. They were wrapped in a lily-pad with a willow vine hugging around it to keep everything together.
That’s fine! I thought it was
“You’re welcome.” She said with a big smile on her face. Relieved he liked it. She watched as he put it on, stretching her neck towards him slightly to give it one last check-up. It seemed to fit well, good. “Thank you. I do my best.” The doe bowed her head slightly at the compliment, though looked up when he turned to grab a package wrapped in a lily-pad and vine. “Oh? Ah, thank you!” She smiled, inspecting the package he had given her. It smelled like they were filled with herbs. “What are these used for?” The doe asked, not so good with the herb side of things herself. But she knew they could be very handy.
If the other doesn't claim
You'll have to battle that
That would be very super nice
It was a forest after all,
Slowly tottering through the thicket his legs would sometimes seem to pause at the slightest sound of a twig snapping. Each movement sent out vibes of caution. Anything would be in these woods. It wasn't a forest full of simply deer as one would have thought. Many things hid within it's depth. Things that wouldn't be explained. All the same...nothing needed an explanation. For to him it gave the forest it's own unique beauty. This, however, was something he hadn't noticed before. A thin trail where deer and other things have come and gone. The music of insects growing louder as he ventured down the path. A few scattered about and hid, appearing to watch him even.
Was there a place that a insects reside? In one unity..no...spiders. Not many..but a few managed to catch his eyes. Normally this would deter anyone...but he was curious. So, Lionel continued onwards in a slightly faster pace to see where the paths ended. Another opening, but it wasn't empty. Many trinkets and what appeared to be crafts littered about some finished, others not. All a strange form of artwork. Trinkets and gadgets. Eye candy to those who adore those kind of things. Appearing simply awestruck he spun around simply to take in the view. Who made them? This question instantly dwelled within his usually scattered mind. Causing him to pause, falling stiff in his own thoughts as his now glazed over eyes continued to take in the sights. Only snapping out of this daze when his attention was drawn upon a single item. A bird's skull. Owl from the looks of it.
Finely painted with intricate lines, vibrant colors, and even decorated with finely placed feathers. None of the frayed, and dyed to match. He wanted it. A small urge to own it bubbled within his chest and sweltered up though his neck, and before he knew it.. he heard himself speak, " Hello? Is there anyone here? "
