Dag's full name is pronounced '
I-or-dag-nyre', and was given the title
'The Fortress' in recognition of the guardianship he gives to and inspires in others. He is a symbol of unyielding strength of will and exhibits an impenetrable, one-pointed focus to rise above any situation. The emblem of victory - the Peregrine Falcon - still remains with him from his first and very old title of 'Wings of Peregrine'.
The Fortress }
Voice - Deep bass; an equal balance of gentility and authoritative power associated with a voice of moral substance and leadership. Feral vocalizations are rare from him, though he is known to produce brontidal rumbles and has an extraordinarily low, growling bellow.
Scent - His scent is very gustatory - likened to the smoulder of a warm, damp bonfire in the middle of open fields; burnt soil of old forests long gone.
Build - Based on an old-world ice giant
Eucladoceros species; the first species of deer genus to have highly evolved antlers yet is a primitive mass of strong bone and muscle. His body type is a visually solid domination with a dense muscular structure most noticeable around his barrel-chest and shoulders, reinforcing the relatively short, strong neck that bares the weight of a heavy square skull - resembling more bull than deer - and its gargantuan artillery; both of which being the most prominent indication of his skeletal bulk. Being top-heavy, his posture is almost restricted to one position when still. A long body means legs are stationed far apart to accommodate and spread the weight, and his head is always held high in balance giving him a kingly air, which is also reflected in his fluid and powerful gait. At full speed, there is very little that can stop his bulldozer momentum.
Antlers - Fortress by design. Supernumerary, elongated branched-antlers where the beam has grown outward behind him, tines growing upward; his outer primary tines are the largest and grow into long forward-facing pincers. There are 12 tines per pedical and are split into four sets, all of which together are specifically designed to interlock with any antler type. Central clusters suited to single beam pronged deer, outer and brow tines designed for the larger supernumerary or palmated antlers such as Irish Elk. They are incredibly thick, astonishingly heavy, and an impenetrable defense that cannot be breached.
Visual - His coat is made up of dense, varying shades of grey that give him an overall arsenic colouration, but his mane and face are the most striking; dirty white for the most part with a carnelian-red pattern draped around the contours of his beady-eyed, frill-cheeked face. The white of his mane continues only half-way under his stomach, and ends in a point with a very thin separating line of charcoal.
There is also an enormous patch-scar that tears through the left side of his neck which is coupled with the nick in his ear on the same side. This was given to him by the Spring Wolf in 2010*.
Conqueror - Being the placid giant he is, Dag never lowers his antlers without reason; rarely has his combat been seen within the peaceful confines of the forest. However, heed the warning of his scar. Events leading up to his present existence shed further light on this war-hardened battler. There is something prehistoric and almost predatory about his combat - the misfortune of colliding with such a monolith is simply an all-sensory deluge.
Antediluvian }
Iaurdagnire's story has become that of Endless Forest legend, starting in 2009 and ending in 2013. His story involves the Forest, the Gods, and the spiritual embodiment of the Seasons whom he served with perpetual lives as a God-given duty. Dag wanted to escape, and continually fought for a life and death that was his to dictate; to cease to be a higher power's fuel for intellectual evolution. But in learning about his place in the world and a way to put an end to his duties, he became even more lost. Ultimately, Dag's story is an exploration of purpose and morality in all forms, and almost entirely community driven. The community has been involved in each section in some way, and these are referred to as "Season Events" by those who have participated; the events were designed for everyone to enjoy, regardless of the story.

Ravenflight - The Queen His love and greatest treasure; indescribably bound to her like no other. Their history had long ran parallel, and although their paths crossed only rarely in bygone years, they were connected by a deep empathy for their respective trials and desire for freedom. Behind closed doors they each played a part in helping each other fulfill a purpose in order to escape, and then found themselves lost without it. When Dag returned to the forest, Ravenflight tried to help him re-adjust through her understanding of what it is like to feel truly detached from the world around you. As they spent more time together, Dag increasingly began to dote on her and fell very deeply in love. Captivated by her in every way. Ravenflight has given him a new purpose, and Dag is utterly devoted to her continued happiness. Adores and is enchanted by everything she is.
Cry - The Ace Guardian; a source of security; life indebted to. Dag has known Cry for a long time, and upon his return was healed by him (
see 'War Drum' Act V). Displays an affectionate "big brother" attitude towards the small white stag when around him.
Ephiré - The Jack An unspoken natural affinity; indebted to. The two giants have much in common with the way they cope with the world around them, and it is this understanding that lead Ephiré to become the catalyst in Dag's journey (
see 'Catalyst' story arc Act I-III). Has a profound trust in him and admires him greatly. He is also the only deer within the forest to have witnessed the full brunt of Dag's combat.
Virgil/The Red - Part of the Fortress' strong foundations. One of his oldest friends of a different world to his own, wild and unrestricted. At the time of his trials, Dag thought of Virgil's existence as "real", moreso than his own and one he wanted to achieve. Events between then and now strongly effected Dag, but their friendship remains strong and has been rebuilt. [to be re-written]

Seed clearly needs to see Dag
There was a small, stubborn
I'm recovered, just readjusting, that's all...
She was a bit shakey on her feet, but she did everything she could to keep up with everyone around her; only to be forced to fall behind and sit back, her body still not quite used to the strains of movement.
She was really beginning to truly hate being in such a sorry state.
Don't overdo it.
But how else was she supposed to build her strength back up? Surely, limits would have to be pushed to do so.
Stubbornly, she stands up, her legs quivering slightly.
It's all in my head, it's all in my head.
It was good to see you though, and everyone else. I've missed being here. Thank you.
Then, almost as an afterthought, she says cheekily,
It's awful rude for a naked man to nuzzle a girl, you know. I was thoroughly confused, ha ~
Calinka >>>> Dag smiled
Dag smiled at how her mouth seemed to run away with her. After all this time he still didn't quite know how to respond to such sweet excited compliments, and acted much like a father who would do no more than clear his throat elegantly and pat his little admirer on the back, saying few but choice words.
"No-one has ever said that my colours mean something. Your Mother sounds like a very wise doe; I consider myself very lucky indeed."
Suddenly he realized Aurora spoke of her Mother in a past tense,
"... What was your Mother's name?"
SoL - *Joy-jumps* If it's one thing I love, it's pokémon references.
vcg - How dare you Sir *slaps with wet kipper*
Seed - My ventures into the forest haven't been for very long lately; Seed isn't the only deer Dag seems to miss (:
Azura - Awh Lacieeeeeeee *hug* it'll take time ♥...
"Ah... S-Sorry about that." Pfffffff.
I'm still all "fkskfskfks" on
I just don't want it to take too much time. I suppose I'm selfish like that :< I have to have a follow up blood draw done tomorrow morning too; apparently, one of my results came back as slightly anemic, and they wanna retest me. JOY.

Aurora slumps down on her
"I have to admit, I don't know her name. I always remember her as being my kind mother, who cared for me. And even if she is gone now, I carry her with me. Her memories, her teachings - they live on, and so does her spirit. She will never die! I don't think anybody ever dies. How can we speak of a person as being dead, when we can remember? When we can still do as this person would have wanted it? Just because we don't see them..." She shrugs.
Her glance gets a more questioningly note. "What do you think? Do you think anybody is -dead-?"
Azura - I hope it went okay?
Calinka >>>>
Dag took a long inhaled and sighed. It was a very clever question, and his relationship with death was a rather odd one to say the least. Technically, his purpose was to die, but with having another life to start over with; he could therefore not be considered dead, ever...? It was difficult.
"I believe... It is other people who make you alive, and keep you that way even when you die and leave the living and breathing. Forgetting is when you let someone leave your memory forever... I know that I have forgotten others from long ago, but I can't say for sure if that is what makes them dead. Dead to me, maybe, but alive in someone else's memory."
He trailed off and smiled a little before finishing,
"I guess saying that, then no-one is ever dead. Even if you've forgotten, it doesn't mean everyone else has. I'm happy that your Mother is remembered so fondly by you. I suppose she is to thank for your delightful spirit! I can tell just from you that she must have been wonderful."
Aurora purrs a soft chuckle
The thought about what her mother may think or not sends another happy smile over her muzzle. Yes, she loves her - though she may not be able to see her anymore, she was with her. Always. Ever.
"She was... is. She told me everything in life is pretty, from the smallest flower to the strongest stag. It is our goal to seek out this beauty. This happiness. And even if it may be hidden behind a shroud of things we consider unpleasant... it is there. That is what makes me happy. Optimistic. The knowledge things will always be good in the end."
She pauses a moment. Her voice got a different tune while talking... it seemed... more wise. The word may be most unfitting for this young, lively doe... yet... it wasn't. Her tune firm, but gentle, reassuring and kind, she speaks up again. "I think... we all have to believe in this, one day. Forgive our foes, ... enemies ... and show them that we seek the beauty they all contain. Just imagine. If every single drop of blood was revenged, we'd all be dead one day, no?" Another soft chuckle.
I haven't heard anything
Azura - A whole week? Last
Where's my whip...
Calinka >>>>
It is our goal to seek out this beauty. This happiness... I think... we all have to believe in this, one day. Forgive our foes, ... enemies ... and show them that we seek the beauty they all contain.
"Show them that we seek the beauty..." His ears lowered. There was a slight concerned look to his eyes as he suddenly looked away and upward, to where the leaves of trees were only just starting to turn. It wasn't noticeable unless you were looking for them, and lately, Dag was always looking. Watching, waiting.
Perhaps his senses were so on guard that he saw too deeply into the does words. Or perhaps it was simply the fact that Aurora was a kindred spirit set on happiness. The only real difference is that Dag had to fight to maintain those same ideals.
He allowed one of his trademark chuckles to escape,
"Hm-hm, you have great potential, Aurora. Your growth in this forest will be something I'd very much like to be around for."
Well, I honestly have no

S-sir Dag..!
She looked sheepishly at him, a blue-green color.
^Omfg, loll.
Whilst keenly, but in thought
No, instead, Aurora pondered on her own. Everything her mother taught her... what she felt when thinking... seemed so... distant, but true. Was there another way of life? Was she blind? Was she demanding? Or just... well, kind? Like mother? If only she could see her. This warm feeling Aurora got when thinking about her was pleasant, anyway. Like the rays of the sun. Her mother. Warm. Friendly.
Dag's voice got her out of the thoughts. Pleased by his chuckles, another smile forms at the cornors of Aurora's muzzle. Her azure eyes gaze up at Dag again, like two shining lights in the darkness of her face-fur.
"That is very kind of you, Dag." A satisfied sigh escapes her lips. "Many people seem so surprised by my life's philosophy. Is it so weird? Or do I seem demanding when explaining it? Am I... annoying you with it, Dag? I mean... I mean... you are so nice. I would never want to annoy you, nor anyone. I am just... Aurora... I guess..."

"S-Sorry!"
Dag spread his front legs forward so that he could rest his chin on the ground, but his rear still remained in the air which made him take on the stance of a dog wanting to play. He tilted his head to the side she was on so that he could get his antler as close to the ground as he could,
"Are all four hooves on the ground now? Maybe you can untangle your...self..."
It occurred to him that his rear was actually... quite exposed like this, so he sat his back end down rather quickly hoping no-one had caught a glimpse from behind.
(lololololodagdingledangleslololololololl)
Calinka >>>>
"Weird? Annoying?"
He laughed a very hearty laugh, the low base of his voice leaking through the ground beneath his chest,
"I think you worry to much about what people think of you for being happy."
Dag sniffed and shook his head from side to side to dislodge any debris gathered in his mane. Specks of dust and seed floated up and caught the light, just like all the other little golden nothings that meandered throughout he forest air. There was a gentle hum as he did so, of his grand antlers meeting and cutting up the air.
"As long as you guide others in your philosophy and never force, you can do no wrong."
Hey.
I'll try to be on MSN between wednesday and friday late. Hope to talk then. ^^

Kaoori began to set one hoof on the ground, attempting to untangle herself. She looked rediculous, like an ornament in an ornate antler Christmas tree. Eventually she had chewed through one vine, setting another hoof on the ground, and then another, and finally the last hoof had settled on the ground. She stood, shaking her head. Finally she spoke, her voice shaky.
S-sir Dag... you're so very tall.
GNNENNYNNERFFF. DAG. The new
Back to RP, before I turn out to become a fangirl again. <3
An honest, happy smile stretches over Aurora's muzzle, setting the azure eyes alight once again. Low rustling of leaves can be heard beneath her as she shifts her weight a bit around to sit more comfortably in front of the magnificent Dag, still gazing up to him.
Being quite joyous (and probably excited) her head tilts forward to nuzzle Dag's thick fur, accompanied by a purr of enthusiasm. Closing her eyes, a thought came to mind. What her mother's fur would have been like. Was it so thick and soft, like Dag's? Aurora would love to have it that way. As quick as her head bobbed forward, it come back to gaze once more up to Dag's face.
"You are right, I guess. I mean... I -can- express my own opinion, no? I am never saying people must believe it. I would never do that! It's selfish." A short pause of ponder, filled with the slight a slight breeze of the fresh wind through the forest. "No. No, I don't think I could ever act selfish. At least not on purpose! I would never disappoint mother like that. But... I guess... we can't control ourselves always..." Another pause.
"Did you ever lose control and did something selfish, Dag?"
Hay no worries, Corvi felt
Kaoori >>>> Dag waited
Dag waited patiently and moved his antler slowly away when he felt that all of her had left. He didn't look at her at first, frightened that he had scared her.
"I am sorry for the... flying lesson. You gave me quite a shock. I hope you're not hurt."
He cautiously put his great big nose under her chin, as if to hide while at the same time comfort-seeking.
(Fawn-like guilt trip ftwwwwwwwwww)
Calinka >>>> omg she purrs? I want 10 of her.
His eyes closed briefly while Aurora was burying herself into his coat. Being so close to others was a very baser instinct that Dag liked to indulge in; he loved being cuddled up to.
The Fortress made a very good furnace in the cold.
"Mm?" He opened his eyes and suppressed a yawn. Not because he was bored, but because he was comfortable and relaxed.
"Well, I suppose I must have at some point. I think it's simply nature for us to take little selfish liberties that are small enough not to be noticed by ourselves or anyone else. I can't recall doing anything noticeably selfish, though. I'm sure my friends would confront me if I ever did."
onyx - I do have quite a few forest friends, so it's very rare to see Dag on his own. I was glad to see you though, I liked the set Corvi had on. There's no need to be shy around me/him (:
And thanks! ^^
Kaoori blinked, the nuzzled
Shame on me to try to play silly tricks on you when you're asleep, anyway.
YEY. Purry purr of ethusiasm
Aurora took herself a few moments to ponder about Dag's response, gazing briefly down, to Dag's side. Not to be noticed by ourselves or anyone else? A shiver ran down Aurora's back fur. What would she have done already? What tiny actions have been selfish? Perharps when satisfying her own needs? Was that selfish? Or is selfish something that is on other's costs?
If only she knew. Her azure gaze, now remarkably more thoughtful and wise than childish wander up to Dag's face.
"I... it is difficult to understand. What... what is selfish behaviour, anyway? What makes something we do selfish? It... it can't be just the satisfaction of a wish. I mean... then things like having friends would be selfish. No? Is a selfish action then always bad... so... is it doing something on the cost of others?"
Another ponderous pause that the wind fills with a cold chill... the seasons were turning. The warm days of sun were definately over, it seemed. If only such a cleaning chill could run through Aurora's mind. So often she would dwell in philosophic problems, such as defining good or bad behaviour. And so often, she seemed to be lost in it, like in a maze.
A sigh escaped her muzzle. Her gaze stayed friendly, kind, but the wise note made it older. More adult. There certainly was some of it in Aurora. "If only my mother were here. She knew... she knew so many things. But she is with me, not matter what, I know it. I will stumble over the answer, sooner or later..., may it be with her wisdom or not."
A another shiver through her fur, quiet rustling sounds. She was shaking a bit - the cold, perharps?

The doe bowed gently her head and looked at the stag, shyly. "Hello, sir, Dag. Do you remember our first meeting? Yesyes, I do. I think we should meet more, no?"
She chuckled gently and smiled at him.
Kaoori >>>> Dag allowed
Dag allowed himself a broad smile when Kaoori nuzzled him. He felt better,
"I hope your stomach is settled soon. Hm-hm, but I like when you try to play silly tricks with me. It's fun to pretend to be angry and chase you... I like to see you laugh and have fun with me."

Calinka >>>>
Part of Dag's wise and wistful air was that if one were to study him, they would notice that he didn't often look straight into the face of another looking at him. He would turn to them at specific times when needed, but usually he was staring into the distance observing the world around him.
He didn't look down when Aurora looked up at him.
"I don't believe selfish actions are always bad; there are two sides to everything."
His dark eyes move to look down at her then,
"It's all about other peoples perception, really. We're often selfish when we don't realize, but that is the beauty of it all; you will be told you are selfish one way or another, and you can either fix it or ignore it. Making such mistakes are not worth worrying about."
Seeing her shiver, Dag shifted his weight so Aurora could be right up against him. A warm wall from the cold wind,
"We all have to do things at some point that will be a the cost of ourselves or at the cost of others. Such is life."
Munk - I'll send you some later if I can't be bothered to do a screenshot dump xD
Zeekii - "I was incredibly happy to see you, Nerri. I will be keeping an ear and an eye out for you so we can meet again." <3
Nopje - Dag bowed back and matched her chuckle, feeling slightly embarrassed,
"I'm afraid my dear Waarhijd that I don't remember our first meeting, but I certainly remember you. The same can be said for all friends and deer I've met; my memory is terrible and I simply cannot remember first meetings." He smiled sheepishly, hoping she wouldn't take offense,
"You know, I noticed you earlier sitting the other side of the tree I sleep under; it's nice to see others keeping it company, hm-hm."
(Seriously, my memory sucks with first-meets 8D hahaha)
