Sushi for the Soul - We Weren't Born To Follow

I seriously found the perfect song for my deer:

Check it out:

Quad -
"This one goes out to the man who mines for miracles
This one goes out to the ones in need"

Quad is naturally helpful, and has gone through countless miracles in his life.

Blixt -
"This one goes out to the sinner and the cynical
This ain't about no apology"

Blixt plots to seek revenge on his brother, who he will never apologize to for trying to (and almost) killing him

Zephyr -
"This road was paved by the hopeless and the hungry
This road was paved by the winds of change"

Zephyr seeks to change things in the Forest, much of her personality comes from her father. Plus 'winds' in the lyrics made me think of her.

Trunks -
"Walking beside the guilty and the innocent
How will you raise your hand when they call your name?"

Trunks is a ghost who guides lost souls to the afterlife. He himself is going through his own penance, and one day hopes he would be able to pass.

Caw -
"This one's about anyone who does it differently
This one's about the one who cusses and spits"

Caw is an old man who sees things differently, and he doesn't like the company of others.

Pent -
"This ain't about our livin' in a fantasy
This ain't about givin' up or givin' in"

...Pent talks to trees. He lives in a 'fantasy' world.

Yeah...I swear I listened to this song like 8 times last night (and 3 times this morning). It's totally my deers' themesong.

What Disney character do you most relate to?

LOL so I asked Mick this question, but I thought it would be interesting to make a blog about it: What Disney character do you most relate to and why? You can choose yourself or your deer (or both). And yes, you can pick Bambi.

I'll say both mine and Quad's:

Mine would be...

Quasimodo, the Hunchback of Notre Dame. I relate to him really well because we're both misunderstood - on the outside we look tough, but inside we both have a soft side. I'm not saying I'm in any way shy or a loner, I just often find myself on the edge of a crowd. While I might not act as 'burly' as I am supposed to, I'm not afraid to speak my opinion (respectfully), and also I am very adventurous just like Quasimodo.

Quad's would be...

The Great Prince. He sees Bambi's father as someone noble, who is kind and wise...and secretly silly. *nodnodnod*

In Bocca al Lupo! Learn Italian with Pega's Leowolf!

Hello everyone! I wanted to share a little of the Italian language with you, and teach you an Italian phrase! I got some help with this too - the Leowolf came to act out the phrases for us!

So in English, you know that if you say "Break a Leg!", it's like saying "Good Luck!" Italians have a phrase similar to that:

In Bocca al Lupo!

Which literally translates to "Into the Wolf's Mouth!"

(In the Leowolf's case, since she's female, it would really be "In Bocca la Lupa!", but generally they use the male version for the saying.)

The person being wished to be 'in the wolf's mouth' replies with:

Crepi al Lupo! or simply Crepi!

Which literally translates to "May the Wolf Die!"

If the person replied "Grazie!" (Thanks!) instead of "Crepi!", they'd be wishing bad luck upon themself.

So to recap - to wish someone to 'break a leg' or otherwise 'good luck' in Italian, say:

In Bocca al Lupo!

And make sure the person replies with:

Crepi al Lupo! or Crepi!

Thanks for reading, and hope you enjoyed learning a little Italian! Ciao!!

Brilliant and cheesy idea! (my Divine series)

HEYA! I just came up with a great but really tacky idea.

This is for my Divine series, particularly about certain characters in the story. If you haven't read the series, this might be a little spoiler, but I GOTTA get some opinions on this before I follow through with it!

Please read below if you have read the stories or if you don't really mind being spoiled.

So those of you who have read know that Quad has three older siblings - Una, Duo, and Trio. I've already introduced Pent as his younger brother, but with the older ones, I never really defined who they were.

Originally I was going to have them be three other characters, who never appeared in the series, ect ect ect...

But then I got the idea that a certain other three characters of mine could be them!

Caw, Blixt, and Trunks could be Quad's long lost brothers!

Obviously I might have to make a couple of adjustments to accommodate this idea, but really, what do you think? Caw, Blixt, and Trunks never had any kind of relation to Quad or each other, but what I could explain is that they had been living their own lives the whole time Quad had been living his, all of them really unaware that they were siblings.

If it sounds really cheesy, please let me know. I'd like honest opinions on this - if it sounds like it doesn't really work, then tell me and I may leave the stories alone. I just was like, "Hey, I have three deer that could be Quad's siblings!" this morning.

And that way, my six deer would all be family...I really like the idea personally.

Unraveling the Wirewood - Zephyr's Story

The Artificial Deer

Zephyr awoke, her body feeling strange. Her vision wasn't so great, she felt like she was drowning...

Her eyes opened up a little more, and she realized that she really was in water! Cables and other mechanical parts were connected to her body, which floated within a tube filled with water. Her face was covered with a breathing apparatus, which kept her alive in stasis.

She tried to move her legs, and she strangely could feel them there, but...

Zephyr looked down at her body - her front two legs were missing!

She panicked at once, she wanted out of the chamber, she wanted to see what had become of her body.

And then...a small needle stuck into her neck from a little machine within the tube, and she was sedated. Her eyes closed, and all she could think about was her family...and if she'd ever see them again...

When Zephyr awoke, she was no longer in the tube, but on an operating table. Her body was mostly covered with a cloth, and her eyes were blinded by several lights that shone down on her. There were several humans around her - some stroking her back and forehead, others tinkering with strange metal appendages that had been attached to her. She didn't understand what was going on, and little by little her vision and hearing came back. She didn't struggle, she just lay there and waited to see what would happen next.

"It's ready to go.", one of the humans said. The others uncovered Zephyr, helping her to her feet. She was still drowsy from the sedative, but she managed to stand on her hind legs coming off of the table. Then they helped her move her new front limbs onto the floor. The legs made a slight 'clink' sound when they hit the ground, and Zephyr was slightly wobbly on them, but she was able to stand.

"Come here, my doe.", one of the humans said from a distance. She held a bowl of water, and upon seeing it, Zephyr suddenly felt very thirsty.

Unraveling the Wirewood - Fledermaus' Story

Warning - blood and gore warning

Forest of the Zombie Harts

Fledermaus awoke with a nasty headache. The air was strangely foggy and had a decrepit smell. He coughed a little, trying to get used to the air. He noticed many of the trees were rotting, and the limbs were bare. What has happened to the Forest?, he thought.

Standing, he looked around, not seeing any other deer in the area. He began to walk toward the Pond, hoping to find someone there. Approaching, he could see the water wasn't quite what he remembered.

He stopped, staring in horror when he saw the water. The Pond was murky, and bones littered the shoreline - deer bones. Fledermaus was sick, and he could not stand to see the Pond in the condition it was in. Turning away, he ran toward Twin Gods' Hill. He wanted answers.

"Michael! Auriea!", Fledermaus cried out. The hill was coming more and more into view, and his hopes rose with each hoofbeat. Sliding, his hope sank in one moment. The stag collapsed, saying under his breath, "...no..."

The idols were completely destroyed. Bits of the Gods protruded from the ground, and thick weeds were already growing in the area. The Hill had never been unkempt.

"Fledermaus?", someone said nearby. The voice was familiar, but odd to his ears, and turning, he saw a zombie stag standing at the base of the hill. "Who...who are you?", Fledermaus questioned. The stag was nameless - their pictograms had vanished when the Twin Gods' magic left the Forest.

"It's me, Fled! It's Masque!", the Zombie said. "Masque? But...you're...", Fledermaus began to say, when the zombie nodded, "I know...and you need to become a zombie quickly. I'll take you to the Big Zombie Deer, you must submit to him, or...", he shook his head, "...or we'll have to kill you!"

"Masque, what do you mean by that?", Fledermaus questioned him.

Bellingrath Gardens, Take Two! (Image Heavy)

So this time I took my aunt with me to Bellingrath Gardens, which is a huge area that was turned into a really cool garden. In addition to going to the gardens, we also went on a boat ride along the Fowl River. Hope you guys enjoy these pics!

The flowers are a lot different in March than they were when I went in October. That's because the people who work there change out the flowers yearround! Must be a heck of a job!

And you will see a couple of pics of my Aunt and myself in there.

Deer Nationality (meme)

Just an idea I had - what nationality do you see each of my deer as? You can pick any country for each of them (please don't pick the United States since that's where I live Eye ) based on anything about them - their personality, their set, ect.

Quad - Selfless, lovable, always happy, and a glutton. He enjoys the company of others and is always willing to help out.

Zephyr - Shy, but very outgoing. She is curious about many things and makes close friendships.

Pent - A silly pronghorn antelope who talks to trees. He is an environmentalist, but he doesn't like to hang around his own kind.

Trunks - The ghost of a fawn who walks the Endless Forest as a great spirit. He is a guide for lost souls and particularly loves the company of fawns.

Blixt - A fallen warrior who lost his memory. He ultimately seeks revenge against his brother, but for the time being, he is a suave and tacky gentleman. He is often depicted wearing a feathered hat.

Caw - A deer who was banished to an island for a hundred years. He is naive when it comes to religious beliefs, but as far as his personality, he has a survivalist nature and is often wary of others.

Anyone who wants to do one of these yourself, please feel free. I just thought of this.

I have ideas for each of them but wanted to see what you all thought first. I might associate their personalities based on the nationalities I see most fit to them.

*Bonus info* - I have Irish, Italian, and German bloodlines Eye

Unraveling the Wirewood - Phelim's Story

Crystalline Soul

The fawn cried out, in terrible pain from her torn leg. She was lucky that two nameless stags came along to ram the coyotes off of her, but the damage had been done. Her back leg bled terribly, and she was starting to go into shock.

"The beasts are long gone.", one of the nameless said. The other was mending the fawn, trying to help her as best as he could, but he didn't really know what to do. "She's in bad shape.", the second nameless said.

"We can't help her, but maybe the Shaman can.", the first said.

---------------------------------------

The two transported the youngling as best as they could. They took turns carrying her on their backs, both with an eye out for her attackers. They followed a road into the Endless Forest, making it into the birch area toward the Playground.

There they approached the rocks. One of the stags called out, "Shaman, are you here?"

Silence for a moment, and then... "Wh...what do you want, nameless?", the voice came from beneath one of the boulders. The two stags saw a figure shadowed underneath, who kept to himself under the stones. He was willing to help anyone, but he had somewhat of a fear of nameless deer.

"Shaman, this fawn was attacked, and needs your help.", the other nameless said.

They laid the fawn before the shadowed figure. Her breathing had deepened - she had lost quite a bit of blood along the way, and was already beginning to cling to life.

The Shaman began to speak a few chants, and reaching out, he placed a hoof on the young one's leg. The leg at once was covered by crystal.

"What?", one of the nameless questioned. He noticed that the Shaman's leg was pure white, and as soon as the spell was done, he quickly retracted his leg.

"The wounds will heal. She needs to eat something as quickly as possible.", the Shaman said.

The two nameless bowed, "You are a hero.
