Blackbuck Antelope Video

Partially TEF related - I love these antelope because they look so much like my Quad. I wanted to share this video because it shows how beautiful they are. I will admit I laughed at the slow-motion bounding - these antelope can really soar!

The last one it shows is my favorite - I imagine him to be Quad, walking off without a care in the world. Eye

Enjoy!

The Wirewood Tales ~ Quad's Shortstory Collection

I've noticed I've been writing a lot of short stories lately, so I wanted to make a little topic to link them all together. Hope you enjoy, and I plan to do more when I think of more ideas.

If you'd like me to (and if I have enough people ask for it), I could add a little synopsis of what each story is about.

Banished (Shortstory)

This story is inspired by the song The Islander by Nightwish (which is just a beautiful song anyway + the music video is pretty cool)

Quad in World of Warcraft

I stole this from Verdalas' post

I actually have four 'toons' in the game, two on the Alliance and two on the Horde, so I don't really favor either faction. Here's my lineup:

The Great Cycle (Shortstory)

In a portion of a forest, a small herd of whitetail deer enjoyed the entire area to themselves. Their natural predators feared the area.

Near to the deer's home was a set of train tracks. The rails passed close by to the forest, and the deer were not afraid of the sounds of metal and steam that would travel the tracks. The large metal serpents kept the predators away, and the deer lived a virtually peaceful life.

On an unfortunate day, one doe chose to explore the tracks. She stood on the metal bars, sniffing them and staring at them curiously.

In the distance, at the most perfect and horrible time, a train steamed toward the doe. She heard it coming, and soon she saw it coming closer. The doe froze, her heart rate accelerated, and her legs became stiff while her brain screamed at her to run. The train's operator spotted her, and in a drastic attempt, he applied the brakes on the train as quickly as he could. The wheels locked and screeched on the rails. Sparks flew from the metal, the sound was unbearable in the ears of the animals nearby.

The train came closer and closer. The doe still stood in its path, her body shivered as she stared death in the face. She closed her eyes and...

"Oof!", she grunted, feeling something shove her out of the way. One of her herd, a stag, pushed her off the tracks as soon as the train would have hit. He landed on her, protecting her as the train sped past them.

It was already too late - the train was uncontrollable, and catching a sharp turn on the path, it lost its wheels on the rails and slammed into the ground, sliding through the dirt and colliding into many of the trees on the border of the forest.

The train finally came to a halt, the front of it rested on the ground. Steam bellowed from every part of the machine. The doe and the stag stood, both gazing at the wreckage in awe and terror.

What's the silliest screenshot of your deer?

I just thought this would be a funny topic. I'm sure if you have a slow computer, be aware that there will probably be a lot of screenshots posted on here.

Anyway, here's mine:

Taking a break....

Hey everyone, I'm going to take a break from the community site, the Forest itself, and also on Impressive Title if you usually hang with me on there.

Last night we had a bad thunderstorm, and my desktop got messed up. We finally were able to get the wireless router to work today, but the computer has a corrupted system32 file and will not load. I'm working off of my laptop now, and I can get the Forest to work on here, but I never was able to get IT to work.

Anyway, I'm going to have to get someone to come and either fix this problem, or I might have to get a new desktop. So it might be a while before I can be as active as I was before.

In addition, I've been under a lot of stress from school. Managing 5 classes is really tough. I really wanted to get Divine Sanctuary worked on, but I've been so swamped with my school work that I haven't had any time to even consider it. I apologize to everyone who have been waiting for me to continue the story.

I *might* be able to get Quad into the Forest a little more than I have been, especially in the afternoons. I'll see what I can do.

So in short, I'm having computer issues and I won't be around as much as I have been. Eye

Deer Dreams

"I never really told you this before...", his voice softly spoke, "I often dream of you."

"How so, you ask? Well..."

"I see a young boy. He is holding a fossil in his hand, staring at it proudly and saying to his parents, 'See? It is a trilobite! It's called that because it has three lobes!' Oh he has other possessions, but this is one of his favorites. He loves the animals, even those who have died long ago..."

"Then I see him a little older. He enjoys the company of others, and still loves to collect things. He is very adventurous, and is listening to his CD player. Journey is playing into his ears, and as he listens, he dreams of other worlds and other beings..."

"Now I see him as a young adult. His mind has slowed, and he struggles in college. He lost his dream of being an adventurer, and is trying to learn how to program but has become frustrated. He feels like his life is meaningless, and even at one point considered throwing it all away..."

"But now I see him a year later. He is studying geology. His life is starting to come back into focus, and little by little he is seeing his dream come into view. Maybe one day he will be a great explorer, maybe one day he will go unearth the old fossilized animals he once loved, maybe one day..."

"His goal is set now. He is almost done with his college work. He has learned much in the past few years, and I even see his confidence growing.

The Story of Your Life...in One Song!

I thought this would be a fun topic, but what do you consider to be the one song that describes your life?

Mine has to be Bon Jovi's Lost Highway
