The Sweet Sound of Silence
The world was moving. Or maybe it wasn't. She couldn't really tell, but the white doe felt her body shift as the ground seemed to bump and shake. She didn't really understand it at first, why things didn't feel right.
The howling of wind, along with a constant 'clunk clunk' sound echoed in her ears. She opened her eyes from all the movement and commotion, and at once sat up.
Her eyes adjusted to the dim setting. She was in some kind of strange metal box, and it was moving wildly, making terrible noises. Was she in the belly of some creature...or...?
"Oh Twin Gods, where is this?", Exile cried out. There wasn't a soul around her. She stood, trying to keep her balance on the constantly moving floor, and making it to one of the little windows on the side of the box, she could see clearer what she was in.
A great metal serpent followed tracks on the ground. She had heard tales of these things, but had never seen one in person.
She was inside a train.
Exile at once began to shiver. She hated being alone, and worse, the moving box was making her sick. If that wasn't enough, the loud sounds of the train ringed in her head. She could barely hear herself think.
The sky looked like it had been early morning. There was a slight smell of water in the air, like the morning dew was just beginning to evaporate from the strands of grass on either side of the rails. She saw that the surrounding field seemed to go on for miles. She began to wonder where she was, and how far away she was from the Endless Forest.
With each passing second, Exile felt her hope of ever returning home diminish.
A loud bang hit the side of the metal box she was in. The sound made her ears go out for a second, and her mind went from helplessness to rage. The doe cried out, running at one of the sides of her cell and hitting it with a loud crash.

Voices of the Past
Noelle awoke suddenly, her heart racing from seeing the burst of light from the Wirewood Tree. She looked around - she WAS in The Endless Forest, but there didn't seem to be anyone around. The forest was lit by the dusk sunlight, and little by little it was getting darker. Standing, she called out and listened for a response.
Nothing - the air was completely silent, even the usual sounds of birds and insects seemed to be absent.
She tilted her head, and then started to walk, looking around for a sign of anyone. She didn't really understand what had just happened, and with no one around to talk to, she felt more and more confused.
Noelle stopped and called out again. Her eyes caught a glimpse of something for a moment - she could have sworn she saw a young fawn dart past the trees in the distance. Curiously, she ran that way, calling a third time.
Stopping to catch her breath, she caught something in the corner of her eye. The old ruins were...glowing?
Looking, she confirmed this - small orbs of light floated around the place, all in different colors. Hesitantly, she approached the Ruins.
As she neared, a blue orb drifted toward her, and she heard the faintest sound, "...Noelle?"
That voice, it's..., her senses rose immediately, "Fay, is that you?", she asked.
The reply was hard to hear, but she got a little of the response, "...rrible happened, sister."
"What? What happened?", the doe questioned. Other orbs approached, seeming to be drawn by the presence of the living deer. The greater numbers helped Fay be able to speak clearer, "There was a mass extinction. We don't know how we all died, but...something terrible happened."
"How did she survive?", one of the violet orbs questioned.
"She must be the chosen one.", another answered.
"Fay, what's going on?", Noelle asked her sister's orb.

TheQuietOne:
Me -
Does your name originate from anywhere? If so what does it mean?
"Well, I was born in December, so my name comes from Christmas."
Who was your first friend in the forest? how did you meet him/her?
"Probably Laruna. It's been too long for me to remember how we met, I think I just liked her picto."
Have you ever killed anyone? If no , then are you willing to under any curcanstences? If so what are they.
"I haven't, but my circumstances would be if they threatened my family or if they were trespassing."
Quad -
Does your name originate from anywhere? If so what does it mean?
"My name means 'Four'. It has to do with the amount of times I've been reincarnated."
Who was your first friend in the forest? how did you meet him/her?
"Laruna." (would be the same as the real me since Quad was my first deer)
Have you ever killed anyone? If no , then are you willing to under any curcanstences? If so what are they.
"No, but if the Twin Gods wanted me to, I would obey."
Zephyr -
Does your name originate from anywhere?

*edit* I put the wrong frame 1 up there. The background doesn't sync up so it looks wierd, sorry! Look at my last comment for info
Sorry to ask, but I had an idea for a funny animated gif, and I don't have any animation software or anything to make it with. It's really simple - only two frames:
With the words "*nod nod nod*" on it. I wanted it just to loop between the two frames so it looks like Quad just keeps nodding his head.
I didn't crop the pictures so whoever made it could crop it to the dimensions they're comfortable using. I just need Quad in the picture with the words off to the side or in a corner.
Thanks to whoever does this for me. I'll love you forever, and maybe write you a story?

One Antler
Seed awoke from what seemed like a long nap. He stood and stretched his legs, taking a short walk to the Pond from where he had slept. Drinking from the water, he looked at the reflection, and tilted his head.
"What the...?", he questioned.
In the reflection, instead of having two antlers that grew away from his face, he had one antler that protruded forward. The antler was adorned by the purple flowers he normally wore, but it seemed very odd.
Seed could see the antler when he looked up - it was really there. One antler, right in the center of his head.
"Whoa!", he heard nearby. Turning, he saw a doe staring back at him, her eyes wide open. "You've got one antler, how did you get that?!", she asked immediately.
Seed didn't answer the doe - he was just as surprised himself. Without really thinking, he started to walk away, the doe tilting her head when she didn't get a response. Curiously, she began to follow him.
As Seed kept moving, others saw what he was - a unicorn stag. The lone antler was quite a surprise to them, all wondering about it and coming to a similar conclusion - the Twin Gods granted him with a gift. Seed, however, was thinking otherwise - the lone antler was causing a commotion, and he was getting much unwanted attention.
Several does were following him around, as if he was a source of immense beauty that they could not take their eyes off of. Fawns gasped and gawked at him, the little boys calling him names, while the little girls were envious of his lone antler. Stags nearby noticed the does following him, and immediately became infuriated that they had two antlers, and yet a stag with only one was drawing the does away from them.
It wasn't too long before the stags stood in his way. "You're pathetic!", they roared at him, "Why would the does want a stag with one antler?"
"I don't want any trouble.", Seed replied to them.

Although MickKreiger decided to shut down the gift writing a thon, I still want to write my stories, so I'm trying to think of a way to collect characters to write them for without it only being people I know or it being a "first post first written" thing.
Maybe there aren't any other options. I don't know, but I guess what I could do is make the list of the stories I have available and let people choose which one they'd want. It's not much different than the "first post first written" thing but at least it would be a little meaningful to each person.
What do you guys think? Any suggestions? I've got 10 stories that need to be written (not including the one I was going to write for myself [and I reserved one of them for a friend]).
Maybe I could put specifications for each story, like "this story needs a doe" or "this story needs someone who doesn't wear the zombie set".
I'm still a little bummed that the writing a thon got canceled, I was really looking forward to when my week came.
Here is the link to Unraveling the Wirewood's prologue and index if you have no idea what this is about.

Acceptance
An early morning mist blanketed the Endless Forest. The trees appeared like ghosts, and the bodies of sleeping deer lay in their various beds. The air was too cold for Gabe, he could not sleep this night. Sitting up, he shook the little bit of ice from his black fur, and went to the Pond for a drink of water.
The stag walked through the foggy forest like a specter. He had not met very many of the deer here, for the ones who have looked upon him were struck with fear. His face appeared painted, and four red horns sprouted from his head. The other deer had not seen one like him.
Making it to the Pond, he bend down and lapped the water. It was just as chilly as the air, but quenching his throat helped his body relax. He didn't notice a fawn nearby, who also drank from the pond's water. The little one looked up to him, her heart skipping a beat.
The stag heard her and turned, revealing his face. The fawn was immediately terrified, running off as quickly as she could.
Gabe shook his head, "Perhaps I will never make any friends here.", he said to himself.
"Not necessarily.", another voice said nearby. The dark stag turned to see another stag sitting in the water. He enjoyed the light waves from the Pond on his green fur, and his face was covered with a green mask with lightning bolts on it.
"Who are you?", Gabe asked the other stag. Smiling, the masked deer replied, "They call me Blixt."
The green one stood and gave a light bow. He was a gentleman around others, and unlike so many that Gabe had met before, he would never judge another by appearance. "So, why do you think you're having a hard time making friends?", he asked.
"I don't know. Maybe they're afraid of me.", Gabe admitted. Blixt nodded his head, "Some deer are wary around those they have never met before.

We decided on the Beach Set! Thanks to everyone for the votes, I can't wait to play him in the Forest!
Heya guys, I can't decide between two sets, so I need a vote.
It'll be for my new deer,
Caw, who lived on an island for many years and finally was brought back to The Endless Forest.
The two sets below were put together from suggestions, because I wanted him to have kind of an island look.
Set 1 - Tribal
Pega liked the long mask, and I love the venetian carnival antlers. I thought the kabuki pelt would look neat with this, like the red line was a symbol of his rebirth or something.
Set 2 - Beach
Suggested by Cato, the golden butterfly pelt gives him a kind of sandy look, and the magpie antlers look like grass. The antelope mask has a kind of tiki feel.
So yeah, which one do you like better? They both are awesome to me, so I can't pick XP
