Holly on the Old Oak - Final Thoughts

Holly on the Old Oak

Final Thoughts

A boy named Jake gives a lone stag a place to rest for the night, and the next morning, he found a surprise surrounded by hoofprints in the snow.

A King and a Page were charitable to the poor, setting an example for us all.

The antics of three deer who tilted their heads at a Christmas ornament on a tree, who discovered the meaning of the season.

A kind deer listens to a lonely ghost fawn, and helps him find his long lost mother.

A disfigured stag, who nearly gave up hope, was invited to dance with others and shown true friendship.

A lost deer, believed to be one of Santa’s reindeer, was treated kindly and became the talk of an entire town.

The dance of the deer, a celebration that all are welcome to attend.

A doe and her mate, seeking shelter from the rain, give birth to a miracle fawn.

The strange party of the most evil and vile monsters, who in their own way enjoy the season.

A storyteller retells a Christmas classic for a group of fawns, and later discovers that the story is really true.

A curious doe who wants to learn how to fly, and soon becomes the center of an extraordinary event.

And the tale of Walter Scrooge, who was shown the meaning of generosity and changes his view on the world.

These stories express several important virtues – kindness, generosity, and merriment.

--------------------------------------------------Dum dadi do--------------------------------------------------

Curry hails from Ireland, a place where being drunk is actually permitted by law. Certainly Curry would do such things. But on most nights, Curry isn't chugging down strange liquors in random containers. Curry is the type to venture into things that it knows it shouldn't. Curiosity is a good word for the peculiar fellow. A unique way of looking at the world is the way to go. Even if hellbent on certain obscure ideas, Curry is convinced their way is the right way.

-------------------------------------------------Appearance----------------------------------------------------

Curry's antlers are decorated with red flowers, adding a hint of femininity but also giving it a decorated appearance. The antlers themselves come straight from Curry's noggin, branching outward in a bent U-shape. Some kind of paint adorns Curry's face. His fur is a deep russet brown, covered in lighter tan speckles upon his rear end.

------------------------------------------------Personality------------------------------------------------------

Happy go lucky and full of cheer, Curry is an excited and rowdy deer. Well that rhymed...anyway. Curry will do all it can to make sure that people know it exists. Acting out, being shameless, it's certainly the way things go. Curry can also be very quiet and shady. For the sake of being just plain strange, Curry likes to paint with his hooves. Any color imaginable will decorate the ground and trees. An obscure Irish accent paints Curry's voice. Curry is rather young, in its twenties.

Question to artists/viewers of art.

I see a lot of artists on this site advertising the fact that their work is bad.
Even before you can see the picture, you are being informed it is bad.

Do you find this takes away from your experience of the artwork?
Does it make you feel the work is better, in comparison to the bad artwork you were expecting?
Do you as an artist find yourself calling your artwork bad?
Does this sort of thing impact your views of the artist themselves?
Do you not care at all?

I am curious, and simply want to know.
I also understand not everyone has confidence in their artistic ability, this blog isn't necessarily a criticism of this trend, I simply want to know how it effects people and how they experience art.

edit: guh riddled with typos, my apologies.
