The animal swished its tail, nibbling on what was left of a swathe of green grass. Fall was coming, so the grasses were becoming tougher, wilting or freezing depending on the flux of hot and cold weather. Iphea raised his head, inhaling the crisp air before he began his trot in to the First Forest. His destination was the Great Oak, smiling as he went. A meal awaited him there, a meal of acorns.
Iphea's instincts took him to find more acorns than he could eat. The closer to winter, the more the stag had to bulk up. There would be no food soon, with all of the plants beginning to go dormant for the seasons of sleet, ice, and snow again.
The shade of those huge branches was dappled with even darker shades. Little, semi-round achenes littered the ground. They ticked and scuffled as the big stag walked through them, snuffling to find the ripe kernels. They crunched between his lower-teeth and the hard palette that replaced his upper ones, such as would be found in any other deer. The distinct taste of acorns filled his senses, and he grunted in appreciation. He would fatten himself up off of them for the next months.
Sons and daughters of the mighty Sun
Those burning with the fires of strength
Upon golden wings you shall endure
The tests of power, cunning, and tactics
Blessed are you who remember the fallen
Their sacrifice shall not have been in vain
For you carry their strength on your back
Sons and daughters of the changing Moon
Those who dwell with the essence of wisdom
Let the waves of inspiration flow through your mind
Those who seek balance and understanding
Shall be rewarded with splendors eternal
Go forth and be the leaders of free thinkers
And teach the world all that should be
Sons and daughters of the Stars above
Those who the virtue of courage favor
For generations shall be told your tales
Of compassion and humility, and endless will
Live, dream, explore, walk without worry
For mountains and oceans shall test your dedication
And you will endure and conquer all obstacles
Sun, Moon, and Stars, bless our children
Harmony of strength, wisdom, and courage
For we are all bound together through each other
The strong need the wise,
The wise need the courageous,
And the courageous need the strong
May we all live forever in perfect unity
