The Book of Riven: The First Page

The First Page. Still virgin to ink. It's an awkward beginning with more questions than answers. New faces, frights and strange experiences await me in a stranger world. Here, danger seems to be as much an illusion as the Forest itself. A land of the impossible.

I tap my quill impatiently on the page, searching for words beyond my command to describe. Little did I know the map lay innocently in front of me, inert to my prodding. A journey is nigh.

A name has been forged, the stars have been cast, and the bond has only begun to be made. The Forest beckons, but can I find the voice to answer?

The Book of Riven: The Cover

Books are wonderful things aren't they? They can be anything that man has created, in mind, heart, or concept. This is my book. The Book of Riven. Within it contains all the lore that I have observed with Riven wandering in the Forest. Rivenlore. That is my name here, and I am content with this.

The pretense for discovery is observation and notation. Having seen the Forest from afar many times gave me some expectations of its verdant secrets. Only time will tell if they are true. My curiosity treads lightly, as a deer.

It is noted that the Forest is something entirely new to me, relying more on the Herd and its interactions then the Forest itself. The trees muse, the rocks mumble, and the waters murmur - whispers of Twin Gods reach my ears, and so, my page. My quill quivers, can this really be? How extraordinary to see the work of gods before my very eyes! I anticipate Their Coming with bated breath, as does my Book.

Being this close to the Herd is unnerving to me, what do I do? How can I say what I mean to say? It is a terrifying, yet enthralling concept - one that I suspect I will spend much of my time dealing with. It is clear to me the Forest is not a place for the trifling concept of objectivity, and so I feel very much out of my element here. Everything is worth trying once, if only for the sake of it, but can I untrain my mind to understand what I see? I almost feel this opportunity is spoiled on me.

The Forest is so alien to the Main Stream from which I came...I wonder if it is something that can be visited with on end, frolicking in the timeless wood til dusk, dawn and there again. Or perhaps it is something to simply be savored on a rainy day; taking shelter in the emerald boughs as the animals do when Man gives little hope of peace? I remember there is no objective here, and I will have to discover this for myself.

From here on I shall catalog my efforts carefully - perhaps it shall be a notary for some traveler not unlike myself. Perhaps it will be as a birth-book, with smiles, stories and memories. Or perhaps a tragedy, a story of pure intentions gone awry in the midst of confusion - the whisper of leaves the throat of madness itself? Books are wonderful things aren't they?

This is my Book, and so I go forth - my curiosity treads lightly, as a deer.

Zoey's rutting blog

Now, please take note that this is STILL UNDER MAJOR CONSTRUCTION. I hate the layout for this page too.

UPDATES:
Added a picture of Zoey
Changed her stats
New rut diary

INTRO:
Zoey awoke for her first time in the forest to see some strange behaviour between the stags and does. Stags were rounding them up, and fighting each other over stray does. Deer were rubbing trees, and rearing antlers with a great bellowing.

This isn't all new to Zoey. She's seen it before in her old home.. what was it again...?

Oh, that's right. It's the rut.

ZOEY'S STATS.

Name: Zoey
Gender: Doe
Age: Young adult

Current health: 99%
Hormones: Strong; taking over Zoey
Mood: Restless, flirty, frustrated.
Energy: 70%
Doing: Looking for stags
Thinking: ...

ZOEY'S RUT BEHAVIOUR
Zoey often will walk around on her own or just sit around the outside of a mob of deer. If a stag tries to round her up, she will probably go along, even though she dislikes it. She will try to befriend other does that end up rounded up by the same stag. If Zoey isn't interested in the stag, she will probably wander off, hoping that she won't be pushed back into the mob.

She will put up with deer following her for a short while and if she gets tired of it, she'll run. It's very hard to win the affection of Zoey, and if someone does win it, she'll probably stick by them, even if another stag tries to "steal" her away.

Now that her hormones are getting stronger by each day, Zoey will often rub a tree in a rutting stag's presence.

A very important question!

I suppose this problem was discussed here, but i'm very interested...

What do your friends and family think of TEF?

For example my mom thought it's strange an meaningless and was about to quarrel. But then I told her about how relaxing TEF is and how friendly the players are. And now she says it's OK Laughing out loud
My best friend told something like: "Wow, that's crazy! I like it". And then she forgot about it.
And today i was chatting with my groupmate. We rarely talk usually, but now he suddenly became curious... So we were sharing interests. And I decided to take a risk and told him about TEF. He answered it's freaky and changed the subject...

So...it turned out that it's rather hard to understand The Forest...
