Wow, i've never made a journal before... what to put in it? Well, i'll start with when I woke up, I suppose... Hmm...
Um, I woke up next to a tree by the riverbank. It was quite peaceful there, no fawns were up yet, surprisingly. I stood up gracefully and trotted to the edge of the pond, where I waded for some time... nibbling on pond grasses is one of my favorite pasttimes. After quenching the morning thirst, I pricked my ears to hear if Dag or anyone else was up. Nothing... nothing except the small tingling of Virgil's voice hitting the back of my eardrum. Recognizing it, I trotted in that direction until I came upon him, resting contentedly under a birch tree. I called his name softly, trying not to startle this perfect trance. Eventually, he stood up, and we frolicked and romped about for a little bit. It was all good fun, but afterwards we rested under the tree, and soon fell asleep...
I woke up later in the day to a harsh, windy snort in my ear. I looked up to see a large stag--one with plated, blood red antlers, a torn pelt, and a viciously scary skull mask. He reared up on two feet, ready to smash my head open. I rolled out of the way-- Virgil had gone while I was still sleeping. His hooves hit the ground with such a thud that the trees dropped leaves at the sound. My heart was thudding in my chest as he advanced, rearing up before charging. I ducked to the side, throwing myself to the right just as he went zooming by, the wind whistling through his mask. I looked around frantically, but there was nobody there to help me. Snorting and rearing, the stag changed me once more, but, like a deer caught in the headlights, I could not will my body to move, and he crashed into me head on. Cursing under my breath at the pain coming from my shoulder and neck, I roared deeply and charged him without thinking.
