But yes, that was a typo. I meant to type Ravus. Darn R-names. They are eligible if they play the game. My selection process isn't really anything in depth. I try to keep it to players who don't have a lot of art already, or who don't have artistic ability to draw their characters themselves. I'm not saying this makes anyone less deserving. I'm just trying to spread the love around the community evenly. (: If that makes sense, its not my objective to upset anyone.

I was not on board with this project for the earlier weeks such as Verve and Seed. I'm sure Cicadia had her own methods and reasons for choosing who she did, just as I have mine. But I went through the comments to see if I missed any suggestions recently. And it seems there were a few. But, you'll notice, that one of my own characters was nominated and I chose to reject that as well. So, its nothing personal toward anyone. But a list for reference...

Well you didn't need to post a list up? And it still didn't really explain why you choose to mention it this time but not the other times it happend. Lampshade's player choose not to be elicted if I am right, your own character you choose against and then that just leaves two. Who both have a lot of art and are great artists, but so are a few others on the list who have recently been nominated. I choose my own character as an example though because I feel it's unfair to point out others that can't help being choosen. I also didn't say it was anything personal, didn't think it was, but if you decide to make the rule "people who don't have a lot of art" then I guess that should be a consistent rule?

Oh I'm sure you'll get to all of them eventually, that wasn't my point. I didn't think those who weren't done immediatly were quietly rejected. Could've been the case I suppose, which is why I asked.

There's no need to please me. But there is also a certain risk involved with a blog or 'contest' (dunno if that's a good word here) about people their favourites or etc. I guess you know what I mean. The nature of the blog asks for a certain amount of fairness or people might feel bad. Because our characters mean a lot to us.

Hope I'm making sense? I'm really not trying to uh wiseass you or anything, or read you a lecture, but the comment confused me so I asked.

(For my part, although I'm so flattered Kimi, my chars don't need to be nominated. ♥ They all definitely have way more art than they deserve, and Ravus is probably the worst of the lot. xD)

That's not what I'm trying to achieve, at all, Sight. By selecting less-known characters, I'm hoping to get them noticed. Not just so they get art (though we are encouraging people to draw these characters, because, why not?). But so that they can hopefully gain interaction, friends, and a place in the community. I'm not doing it to.... punish? for lack of a better word, well-known characters. Or artists.

The only reason I posted the list, was because Mis mentioned that there have been people overlooked. I wanted to make sure that I wasn't leaving anyone she was thinking of it. It was not a "reject list". No one is really a reject, just because I used that word. It's just that.. A word. If you would have a better suggestion for me to use, feel free. I'll fix my vocabulary.


I think this is being read into a bit too much, is all.

There was really no reasoning behind my using the word "rejected". It was the first that came to my mind that meant what I needed. So, I used it. I don't see it as a harsh word, personally. I apologize that my vocabulary has offended you all. I didn't realize it was such a slur.

I also thought that if I mentioned someone wasn't going to be added to the list, it would encourage them to make another selection. I didn't know it would cause such an uproar. From now on, I won't acknowledge nominees past thanking the person making it. Done deal.


I'm through discussing this, however, as I've made my point already. I don't feel it needs to be argued further. It's already been blown up beyond reason, and read way too far into.

Those characters were not rejected at all. In the beginning of this thread, I was choosing older characters with the intention of going back and giving weeks to the other characters that had been nominated. The order in which people are nominated isn't what I was going by.

In addition, Lampshade was not rejected, his player (who I have on msn) felt he wasn't deserving and just asked me to give the week to someone else.

We never reject anyone on this thread. Everyone gets a turn, just sometimes not directly after they're nominated.

You know what i'm going through right now acer; my mind is only so clear. i didn't ignore it, it just wasn't written in.

Acer, I'd prefer if Ramsus was removed from the list. I didn't really appreciate my character being singled out and labeled as rejected. I don't think anyone would, especially on a blog that is supposed to welcome every kind of character. At least that's what I thought.

I don't really think the situation was handled "poorly", but meh.

Tuoho makes an excellent suggestion. I’d be scarred poopless to manage a thread like this, paranoid I’d be called out for favoritism. Managing something like this takes a lot of nerve and sensitivity. I’d make my life easier and use some random way to choose nominees too.

There a randomization generator online to randomize lists. Just do it that way. Then everyone is happy!
