August 9, 2018 P95% Quite well, small pains in the hind legs are felt when jumping or stretching. Eyes are permanently blind. M100% Well. E100% Happy "I've met humans before!"
Was hanging out at the Ruins when Darkweaver came by after finishing up with his pumpkins. Spent some time playing around with him and bumping into just about every gravestone in the meantime. Finally settled down in a hyacinth patch, content to rest and listen to his tales of yore. Spoke of her own stories too, how she encountered her first humans at the beginning of the year when her girlfriend Medusa took her to the country of Greece. March 11, 2018 Awakened in the night and went to the twin gods to retrieve her pelt. However, was spared the trouble when a kind little buck, Heilong, spelled her so she wouldn't have to do it herself. Thanked the little one and spent a few minutes running, jumping, and dancing with him and the buck Clarion. Found it all to be great fun, and said farewell to the pair when she needed to return to the Ruins. August 9, 2017 Found Sayuri in the afternoon and rested with her for a while before Lemon showed up, followed by a man-thing. Was told his name was Walter and bowed. Gave Lemon the most useless side-eye regarding the conversation that followed and fought to keep Sayuri's ears covered. Think of the children. >( Then fell asleep again because I don't check the game often enough to keep her awake lmao. Ended the day resting with Lemon, Walter, Sayuri, and a new stranger in the poppies in the Ruins. August 5, 2017 Assisted in the birth of Sayuri a while back, having helped Lemon take care of the fawn during these first precarious weeks. Created the headstone for Moriko, Sayuri's mother, and buried the dead doe once she and Lemon had mourned. Currently resting with the two in the Ruins. July 5, 2017 Accidentally adopted a strange, hungry dragon child who, with the help of Medusa, ate every single rabbit that was in the family cache. May 11, 2017 Met the ill doe Moriko. She's pregnant, but dying. Offered to let her stay at the Ruins until she gave birth and to be buried here. Learned about the far-off forest of Japan from the doe, and promised to make her a gravestone like the ones they have there. July 4, 2016 Sitting with her new niece, Chruthú. Running her nose over the fawn's fur and taking in its scent and traits. Grooming Chruthú if the fawn will allow it. March 18, 2016 Sat with more deer today. Made the acquaintance of Pippit and later on casted mask spells with a small fawn. Sat across from an unknown creature (Maggot) before they left, and then returned to the fallen column near the poppies. March 17, 2016 Tonight was a quiet night spent at the Ruins, sat with some lovely deer and got to meet new faces. Met Roo, a kind blue stag, and Eloa, another small doe. Found them both to be quite lovely, and despite accidentally falling asleep many times (many apologies, because as soon as I put her in forest I just crashed), still managed to have a good time. | /
/ | Basic Information Name: CydaeNicknames: Cyds, Pretty ThingSpecies: Key DeerMaturity: equivalent to a 22 year old humanDOB: May 11thForest Entrance: May 11th, 2012Sex: femaleSet: Whistling Mask, Kabuki pelt, Koi fins, Mini Spell (Reference)Mate: N/AOffspring: N/ASize: #12Orientation: No preferenceScent: Decay, mossVoice: Shelley Duvall (Goldenrod)Faceclaim: Maude Fealy / Relationships "Family" *All family is adopted family Darkweaver A tall, grotesque, and fiendish-appearing creature; golden chains still cling to raw ankles and the exposed throat produces a harsh and raspy voice, but Cydae loves him dearly. The gravekeeper took her in as an adopted daughter when she was small and still retained her sight. He taught her how to hunt for food and how to be safe in the forest. When she lost her sight, Cydae was saddened that she could no longer see her father and worried he might not want her around anymore, but the doe remains a solid part of his family. Enjoys listening to his stories he tells when his throat isn't pained, and eagerly awaits the fog so that they might have better conversations. Since she still lives in the ruins with him and Laghodessa, helps to tend the graves, and has learned a lot from Darkweaver. Cherishes dearly.Laghodessa An equally tall, but more elegant and beautiful creature than her mate. Laghodessa was deceased for the first first months that Cydae was a part of the Weaver family, but was soon resurrected by Darkweaver. Cydae adores the hind, and tries anything to please her and make her happy. Her mother figure, and adopted mother.Archelius Older brother, dear to her heart. Loves to annoy. Curious of the necromancer's powers.Adrastos Older brother. Enamoured by and looks up to. Considers to be a friend and curious of. Loki Older brother. Considers Loki and Archelius to be a pair when it comes to annoying them. Exponentially more mischievous when Loki is around, beloved.Laoise Dear sister. Enjoys being simply lazy with the black doe. Considers her a good friend, doesn't try to get on her nerves.Idaine Younger sister, one of the triplets. Since Idaine has grown, the grey doe has become Cydae's 'eyes', leading her around the forest and helping her out with tasks she cannot complete on her own. Invaluable. Cydae would protect Idaine and the triplets from anything.Arien Younger sister, one of the triplets. Though the doe has grown and now dwarfs Cydae, Cydae is still fiercely protective of her sister. Beloved. Would defend Arien and the triplets from anything.Cearul Younger brother, one of the triplets. Extremely defensive of and holds the buck dear in her heart. Would protect Cearul and the triplets from anything.Chruthú A new family member, her niece, created by Archelius. Hoping to become a good influence for the fawn, would care for it and babysit if asked to do so.Pathweaver Darkweaver's brother. Has never met, but has heard of. Intensely curious about."Beloved" Medusa The doe that Cydae now cares for was actually once a doe named Fayette, a ballerina from another world. Cydae sat with Fayette by the pond and walked with her in the forest. Had fallen for the purple doe's flirtatious manner and kept this happy crush tucked away inside her heart. Cydae went walking to the pond one winter evening and scented Fayette, but the doe had become someone else, a creature named Medusa. Medusa's soul had pushed Fayette's soul out of her own body, taking it over. Fayette was gone, though the body was pretty much the same with minor changes. Heartbroken, but invited Medusa to the ruins to take shelter from the weather. After some major reluctance for both of them, the two sat together, huddled against the cold wind. Tried to ease the purple doe out of her mean and untrusting shell, met with hostility, so Cydae attempted to give her things she had said she desired. Introduced Medusa to the stairs that led beneath the ruins, hoping the caverns below the cathedral would be something familiar. Followed Medusa down into the underground, and a fragile floor crumbled and trapped them down in the catacombs for days, Medusa was heavily bruised, Cydae's hind legs were fractured, and in caring for each other's wounds, they began to care for one another.Eventually Medusa became Cydae's super awesome gay girlfriend, and if they were humans would totally be punk rock and wear sunglasses all the time, the ultimate gay icons. Cherishes her dearly and considers Medusa to be her best friend. Pretty sure that she herself gets on Medusa's nerves way too often, but enjoys joking with her too much to care and will keep trying to be playful unless Medusa asked her to stop. Ikoll Bio #2Met the stag right after she was resurrected by Momma. Sat with him many times and enjoyed just hanging out with him. would chat about nonsensical things, and at the time was much too young to understand love, but now realizes her missed opportunity. Understands now he truly cared about her and loved her, and wishes greatly she could go back and tell him his feelings were reciprocated. A hole in her heart, misses intensely. Because of Ikoll, Cydae no longer fears the birch forest, and visits often. Doesn't know where he's gone to. Noa A stag she first met when he was a baby and she was a yearling, wanted to raise him and take care of him, but another doe had the same desire. Fought the doe, Quadda, only to lose her life due to wounds. Later resurrected by Momma and lost all contact with Noa, only to meet him later when they were both adults. Past events behind them, felt a crush for him budding in her chest. Lost contact with again when he disappeared from the forest. Noa reappeared a couple years later in the form of a fawn, having been reincarnated after dying. Hopes to rekindle their friendship. Misses his friendship dearly.Vanhi A fawn that Cydae found while tending to the Pagan statues. Fed the starving child and invited her to stay at the Ruins after finding out she was alone in the forest. Finds her incredibly silly but appreciates the levity the fawn provides to the melancholy Ruins. Hopes she and Medusa get along.Lemon Met the blind doe as they helped bring Sayuri into the world. Trusts Lemon to be kind and take care of Sayu if she ever needed to leave for some reason. Thinks the doe to be sweet and gentle. Fellow blind mom. Blind moms unite.Sayuri Her sweet baby. Feels a strong attachment to due to their shared impairment and the fact that Cydae was there to witness her birth. Promised her mother, Moriko, that she'd take good care of the child and protect her. Holds slight pride at being able to teach the young doe about how to navigate the forest as a blind deer."Acquaintance" Walter Lemon's man-thing. Told to be nice to. Finds him strange and wonders why he doesn't take his mask off. Like, dude if you can see why are you impairing yourself with a solid mask come on now.Fusion The dragoness would come to the ruins often seeking shelter when she was new to the forest. Chatted with Cydae briefly during those times. Cydae is extremely curious of the dragoness, learned of Fusion's history when the dragoness stumbled back into the forest in a doe form, drunk from a visit to the human world. Cared for her that night but hasn't heard from since. Will guard her secrets.Authieu Met the stag when he came to the ruins in search of artifacts and tools. Told him of the things stashed away in the catacombs below the ruins, but also introduced him to the wealth of different plants that grew around the old cathedral. Curious of.Heilong A young buck who helped her retrieve a pelt spell then spent time dancing and playing with her. Finds him to be kind and sweet. Clarion A silly and fun buck whom she met at the god statues one night. Spent time dancing and running around with him and Heilong. Absolutely amazed by his headphones, doesn't know what they are. "Lost" Moriko An ill doe who said she came from the forest of Japan. Tried to treat her ailments but failed, the doe dying soon after giving birth to Sayuri. Promised her that she would take care of her daughter.Berhdalemause Sat with him many times in the forest and greatly enjoyed the antics they encountered together. Has not seen in over a year, worries for.Momma Momma was an imaginary friend Cydae created as a fawn, brought about by Cydae's longing for a family. As she grew, the magick of the forest made Momma into a tangible being, though not entirely sentient, as she was still just a vestige of the void Cydae desired to be filled. Could not give the fawn any guidance or advice, only love and protection. Cydae's experiences were Momma's experiences, her knowledge of the world was Momma's knowledge of the world, and Momma could not venture far from Cydae without fading. When Cydae died from wounds obtained in a fight, would have disappeared from the forest entirely if it were for a brief gift from the gods that gave her the ability to think for herself and channel the magick into a ritual that raised Cydae from death. Slowly faded back to unreality shortly afterward, and disappeared completely when it seemed Cydae no longer needed her. Missed occasionally. Cydae doesn't really remember Momma that well, memories of the time before her resurrection are shaky at best.Aria Met briefly and chatted with, met her two children Authieu and Irie when they were tiny babies, and hasn't seen since.Quadda Killed by. Terrified of, and will sometimes wake up from nightmares of their fight. Has not seen in a long time, and intends to apologize and forgive the doe if they ever meet again. Would like to meet.Slenderman Met him in the forest on dark or rainy nights. Did not understand his danger, and considered his presence to be like Momma's, a friend, albeit a strange and odd one. Has not seen in a long while.Lilio Her first true friend in the forest. Sat with him and cuddled with him many many times during her first year in the forest. Worries about, has not seen in many years. Misses./ / / History -Born to the bull Riar and the hind Hearse, unbreathing. Abandoned by in her parents' haste to escape predators, awakened in the forest. Protected by the magick of the forest and random strangers' generosity at times. -Met many new faces, grew quickly then stagnated as a young child. Grew to be headstrong and hot-tempered, would fight at the sound of a fly's wing. -In an attempt to feel protected and loved by a mother, tried to be a mother to other fawns, especially fond of Noa. -Momma becomes a tangible being, imaginary friend turned real. -Adopted by Darkweaver -Suffered from many wounds in a fight against the doe Quadda. Died of her wounds and buried in the Ruins. -Resurrected a few days later by Momma. Trauma from the dirt and having to dig her way back to the surface from her grave induced damage to her eyes. -Slowly going blind, and as a result more even-tempered. Not looking to engage in fights. -After about a year, completely blind. Cataracts and some scar tissue cover both eyes completely. -Finds Noa's orb, the stag has been reborn as a fawn inside an egg at the base of the Twin Gods' statues -Falls with Medusa deep into the catacombs below the Ruins, reintroduced to the pain of great injuries but also learns more about the area she calls home. -Meets Moriko and promises to to care for the dying doe's coming child. Aids in the birth of Sayuri, buries Moriko. / / Art "Art by Me" "Art by Others" / / Misc. Things Inventory: -Seeds gathered from flowers around the forest -Bones from rabbits, frogs, bats, and birds -Was raised amongst the Weaver family, and as such, was raised with their stories and beliefs. Finds the Twin Gods distasteful and believes them to be modeled after demons, and despises being spelled with the Devout pelt. As time has passed, finds the Twin Gods a source of curiosity. / |

Proud: Cydae's eyes flicked open, her muscles taut. She had only been resting, changing positions every so often so her limbs don't fall asleep. The light footsteps approaching caused her to stand up, he wasn't close enough to smell, yet. Who was it? "Who's there? I'm warnin' ya, I got..." she faltered, what did she have? "...Teeth. I have sharp teeth and I'm not afraid to use 'em."

The Rahn often poked fun at his own weight, knowing he looked alot better as a man. Pushing his remark aside, he changed the subject: "How've you been, lately, Cyd?"
She's blind. Yup yup.

"Nah, you're fine. I haven't noticed any pudge." Cydae said, nipping at his ear. The small doe ran under and around his legs, much like a cat would. She was grinning ear to ear, happy to be around him. "I've been real fine. Content. Missed you, though. And what about you? You alright?"

All right, Kid. Let's scare
The stag nestled himself closer to the tree trunk, feeling the grooves against his fur. Real. It existed. Fur existed too. It was just as real. He was some...deer thing he couldn't quite fathom. He had never seen a deer with a human face before. He had never seen deer switch faces either. He assumed that only happened in his nightmares or visions. But that stag had insisted he was real, too. Just as real as the snow under his hooves or the wind blowing through the branches overhead. As real as the birds he enjoyed listening to. Everything was real, it was actually happening. It wasn't some bizarre dream stirred up by the sedatives that were shot into his veins.
"Real..." he whispered aloud. His voice was losing the hoarse edge it had before, now that he had more to say, or more to reassure himself of, it was coming easier. The shadows though, he still hated them and avoided them as much as he could. But now, he couldn't quite avoid them; they followed him wherever he went. Shadows were clingy like that. He watched them with a sense of fear mixed with uncertainty as something danced just outside his vision. What if it was another deer? What if it was another deer that claimed to be real? He had seen it from time to time, so maybe it was real? Maybe it did exist? Most of his hallucinations were just there. They didn't bother him with entrances, just sort of popping up wherever they saw fit. He took a breath and glanced down at his hooves, focusing on the way the hoof curved at the ends, just how sharp they were. Probably sharper than human nails, he mused.
Monster! a voice accused. All at once, Jay's head snapped up, his two different colored eyes focusing on what he had once known as simply, the old lady. Except now, the old lady had taken a different form. Plus, she was free of her rocking chair, but that didn't stop her from swaying on her hooves. Return to the Devil, you heathen! Return to the Devil! Return! She was a human faced deer, much like what Eve had said what could be the norm around the forest. She was ghostly pale, with wrinkled rotting skin and blood coming out of her eyes. Usually she berated him from her little corner, waving her knitting needles and smacking him with them if he should decide to calm her. Now she was free and she was going to take advantage of it. The old lady charged him, and Jay's spirit quailed at the thought of being confident, to withstand whatever she intended to do. Instead he lunged away from his spot tripping up on his long legs and flopping around in the snow until he remembered how to go about standing. Hastily, he got to his feet, feeling something like talons sink into his back as he tried to pick up his momentum and stumble through the forest. He could feel the blood from his imaginary wounds, could see other monsters that the old lady had unleashed. He could hear her cackling somewhere behind him over the ragged sound of air filling his lungs.
He wanted to stop, to go through his process of getting rid of them, but fear was something difficult to negotiate with. He tried as he moved along, tripping up over roots and feeling hands grabbing hold of his ears and claws raking down his sides. They are not real... he picked up his pace to a halting, stumbling run, nothing close to the grace of a deer. Laughs, accusations, voices filled his mind. Some of them he recognized, some of them were new to him. They do not exist. I am Jay.
DJ come home to us. That voice he recognized.
"Why? So you could lock me up as the son you never had? So you could send me off to get 'better' again? I am not DJ! My name is Jay!" he shouted at the air, feeling frustration get the better of him.
DJ we love you... He gasped as he felt something heavy on his chest, feeling as if he couldn't get enough air.
"No, you never..." he wheezed, shaking his head and forcing himself to pick up his stumbling run again. He had to get away. He had to get away from them. There must be some way to get away from them.
I loved you Jay.
"You are not real!" he cried helplessly between wheezing breathes. The pressure continued- or increased, he really didn't know, and he was hardly seeing anymore. He could feel something wriggling in his stomach, something trying to break its way out. He tried hard to hold back a whimper of terror, but that was difficult for him to do now. Not when they were assaulting him all at once.
God, I love these characters. I overdid it with this, but...I couldn't stop, and nothing seemed to be making him too scared. So I tossed them all at him. That'd get him into a panicking frenzy.
Cydae had been silently
