I downloaded The Endless Forest, after researching experimental games, and reading about one of Tale of Tales' projects in a magazine.

I expected TEF to be interesting, what with it's focus on communication through animal gestures, and free gameplay... But I never expected to be this enchanted, and entranced by the Forest, and the wonderful deer inside.

I've played other multiplayer online games, and to be honest - they irritate me terribly. Players are often ignorant, and are only in it for themselves. However, with the Forest it's a completely different story. There's a real sense of family between deers. Even deer I have never met nod their head in respect, when greeting myself and others, and entertain the fawns by casting spells generously.

It's something I've never seen in a game before - this sense of community, and support of eachother, and I am really impressed.

I don't know how often I'll update this blog, but for now I'm going to end it by saying this.

Thank you Tale of Tales, for creating such a superb game, and thank you for the players for making my first experience of the Forest what it has been. While the Forest would be impressive, no matter who is playing in it - I feel that the welcoming I've observed in game, and in this community is what makes it that bit more special.

1. As your deer calls out his voice gets lower each time he calls out until you cant hear him at all.

The buzzing was loud, annoying and right inside his ears. He groaned lowly, drifting back towards the waking from the insufferable insects deciding to make his ears their home.

“Bastard Gods," he mumbled, voice thick with sleep.“Don’t even have the decency to allow me peace after my death.” He raised a paw to swipe at his ears but his leg stiffened up, unable to bend as it used to.

His eyes slit open and he turned his head looking at his leg, oh that’s the reason, it wasn’t his leg. There was no paw or thick gray fur covering the muscles of a wolf’s leg. This new leg was a deer leg, all thin, gangly and hoofed.

It took a second for the reality to sink in and his eyes widened...A deer leg....He turned his head slowly gazing down the rest of his body. He was sprawled on his side in a bunch of leaves, back pressed to the rough bark of a tree, and he had the body of a deer. Well, technically a fawns, but it certainly wasn’t his.

He screamed and leapt to his new stick legs, they wobbled and twisted and he stumbled backwards. Wolves worked differently then deer, and he had no practice with being one so it wasn’t a big surprise when he fell. His legs came together, catching on each other and he fell, heel over head, down a hill all the while still screaming. Birds screeched and scattered, frogs croaked and splashed, and into the water he went. He came up coughing in the shallows, gasping for breath, his short fur dripping wet.

“Are you alright? Oh you poor thing, come on out before you catch a cold.”

His gaze shot up, meeting that of a does. They were clear, a mixture of blue and green, like the sea he had once seen in his younger days. He flattened his floppy ears the best he could and growled, it was pathetic he knew it, deer were not meant to growl.

She blinked; he could see her confusion and then she smiled at him.

Bounding about the rocks, or standing by herself overlooking other deers and fauns at play

Most of the times out in the open, other times amongst the grass

Info:
She's quick to greet a fellow deer or faun by partly bowing her head, should she bow to you all the way it means that you have earned her full respect and loyalty. Once this happens she'll defend you nomatter where you are or what trouble you may be in, just call out to her and she'll come running. Most of the time she keeps to herself but there are times when a fellow deer or faun are sad and seem rather lonely causing her to stop and play with them till they laugh and no longer feel so down.

Forsaken wont hesistate to fight for a friend she feels is threatened and will show her agression by bowing her head and mooing in warning. Sometimes though she can just overreact out of fear of being chased away.

Today i saw a dear whith huge silver antlers and a orange pelt we had fun changing our antlers for a while we had a run around at the playgrond (not forgetting i dont know who this guy is ) but ater at the pond he went of strange or what enyway he was lots of fun

Yeah, I figured I would give it a shot. Unless you have a specific scenario in mind, these'll likely just be little random scenes with one of my deer and however many of your deer you want. If you want to do an RP through another system (email or messenger or something), just let me know, I'll be happy to do so. So, if you wanna RP with one of my deer, post here saying which deer you'd like, and we can start something. I'm not sure how I'll keep this organized, but I'll do my best.
