Here here! 100% agree. I wonder though what would happen if everyone handed in all but one picto to M&A? Maybe people might consdider doing this to help?

I don't even know how someone could do that. I can understand a massive amount of pictos being registered on the day of the gen's release. That's expected, really.

But most of them by one person? Why would you even want to keep track of so many? I get why people hoard to an extent... but not to such an extreme like that.

I thought at first when I read it that it was saying there were a thousand registered by everyone together...but most of them were by one person? Selfish much.

Mannn... I'm looking for the 'perfect' pictogram atm, that I plan to use.

I think it's shocking that many of them were registered by one person... if everyone who was online when I was yesterday (there were about 80ish) registered 10 pictos each, that's still only 800! I don't think anyone should feel guilty about getting a couple, though, because from what I've noticed from talking to people from first gen, it's very different compared to those who came to tef during the 2nd gen.

First Gen know what they are looking for when selecting a new pictogram at this stage. You spend a long time simply looking, and let perfectly lovely ones go back into the mix because they're just not quite right for you. There is some kind of agenda in most who are looking too, about what they intend to use the pictogram for. It's not just "oh that's pretty, I'll take it."

In second gen users it's completely different, there's a lot more excitement about it and it's very noticeable! This isn't a bad thing, I just want to point this out. 2nd gen pictos were... let's face it, a flop. People were exchanging art and things in order to get a first gen, M&A were forever changing account names that had been traded etc. From my point of view it seems that M&A realized this and went back to the old style (albeit different shapes) to stop this, which is great.

With that being said, I'm not going to blame a second gen user for wanting to replace or "upgrade" their character pictograms that they were never quite that happy with.

I do however think it is counter-intuitive for anyone practicing picto-hoarding and not learning from the arguments on this site before about it.

jala - A system in the account database would have needed to be in place at the beginning for that to be able to happen, I should think. I think what M&A means is that to treat account registering as a forum if this becomes a big problem. So, an account is attached to your IP address, and therefore it is possible to limit 1 account per IP and block you from trying to register again.

A thousand pictos registered by one user? Why would you even need that many? Just, wow..

Yes, you can go and ask them to delete your accounts and the pictos do return to the system on most occasions.

Thats really insane, I only have four, and 3 of them are from last year!! One in 2010 I think. I dont want anymore anyways!!

I agree as well. I started playing 4 weeks and now 6 days ago and with the 2nd generation I spent hours trying to find a picto that didn't look like toddler scribbles. I didn't make a second deer till Gen 3 came out, and I made sure to only make ONE for this very same reason. And even with this I had a hard time finding a decent one because I made her only yesterday and I'm sure the 1,000+ were already claimed.

Iaurdagnire- I'm a generation 2 user, but I made sure to do my research and searched all the forums regarding the new gen when it first came out. Hearing people say thing like "I just looked for an hours, they're all so pretty" helped me not hoard and stack up on them. I took one, because I had two pictos, and three characters.

Yeah thought that this would be a problem. I did not make not one new 3rd pico deer u_u Tho I have too many deers, I should delete few of them. Those who I really dont use ever.

Like parrotspinapple said, it would be great if the option of surrendering pictos back.

But I mostly came to this blog because I've seen 2 pictos with identical partners when I flipped through the registration. Um is this... Bad? Or was it just really really lucky I got to see that? /or bad as it might be (?)
