Will yew tell me...? Quill's question burned his very soul. Tell her?
Tell her what?
Tell her the truth behind his insanity?
About who he really was?
No, that was not him. Even in his weakest of moments, Cypher needed to remain a secret. Typically he could remain cool and collective but the water always won over him. To him, nothing was worse than knowingly watching his life end before his very eyes. The voice squealed with pleasure at his inner pain. It loved it. It fed off of it. It begged for him to explore the suppressed memory farther for it hungered for revenge against him for his night of socialization.
"No, it's fine," he quietly replied. He sat his vest down on a rock near the water's edge as he began to remove other forms of clothing. First was the tie that slide off easily from around his neck. Then came the button-up shirt. And finally the fedora. With all the articles removed, he could begin to properly wash them, but he kept his eyes fixed on the pond's center.
Just in case.
"If yew say so. Memories
A flash of a knife. Somebody was yelling. Somebody had grabbed her, was holding her--
Quill shook them off too. They were just dreams, right? Maybe a little bit vivid, but that's all they were. The feisty little deer wasn't about to let some stupid dream haunt her. Picking up her head after realizing she had lowered it, she trotted into the water near Cypher and grabbed a drink as he took off the clothes. The water went down icy cold and she winced.
I am sorry.
Which, of course, Quill figured was a lie. The little red deer laughed to herself and rolled her eyes, walking back to her friend. Lowering her head to sniff the clothes, a wicked idea suddenly crossed her mind. Maybe it'll lighten the mood... she thought to herself. With a flash of a grin, she grabbed the fedora and took off with it towards the Twin Gods. Once there, she pranced and threw the hat onto the top of her head with a flick. The fact that it succeeded surprised her and she laughed, still grinning wickedly as she waited.
"Yew want yer hat back, Cyph?" she called out, taunting him and following it with a little wink.
He had dipped the vest into
"What the bloody hell?!" he blurted as he let his accent slip again. "Quit pissing around."
He rose to his feet as he watched her tease him from new the statues. His hat was bigger than her whole head. It dangled over the side as she gave him a playful wink. A cross look embraced his face, but yet.... the corner of his lips raised slight.
Had he.... Did he...? No he could not have had...? Or did he...
... Just smile...?
Quill let out a loud burst of
"Yew don' seem to be racin' ta get it back, Cyph. Mebbe I'll jus'...keep it." Quill winked again, letting the hat flop off her head. She picked it up in her mouth instead and winked once more, prancing by the statues. With a rear, she took off down the hill, racing past him with the hat somehow in her grip. How she managed not to trip over it was practically a miracle.
This time she paused across from the pond and threw the hat back on her head. It was rather hard to see now, with it at the wrong angle. Stumbling, she managed to tilt her head and fix it in the correct position so she could see him. A wide grin spread across her face as she called to him.
"Yeh, I'll definitely keep it!" she cried.
Clearing his throat, Cypher
"Yes yes yes... You have had your fun," His eyebrows were twisted about on his forehead. "Fun" was still foreign to him. He was unsure if he had used the term correctly or not and seemed confused as to how to read her new body behavior. "I shall take that back, thank you very much."
Leaning towards her direction, he snapped his teeth at the hat.
"Too slow, Cyph!" she
"Yew see, I gotta teach yew how ta have fun! Tsk, tsk. Come on, Cypher-stick-in-tha-mud. Yew won' getcher hat back by standin' there an' makin' weak attempts." With a wicked chuckle, she took off in the direction of the Oak, still wearing the hat like a trophy, despite it looking utterly silly covering her entire head.
She wasn't about to give it up easily. Not until Cypher lightened up a bit.
Once she hit the Oak, she started looking around for a good place to hide it. Now where wouldn't he see it if he looked...? Suddenly, she nodded. Perfect.
{{Ah, poor Cypher. xD}}
Cypher stood ankle deep in
What choice did he have though? To simply put it, Quill left him without a choice.
"Goddamn it..." he mumbled as he heaved himself out of the water, looking back to ensure his outfit was securely set in place by a few stones. He would have to return later to retrieve them and dry them.
His bleached pelt glistened in the sunlight. He began to chase after her. He reached the Old Oak, that greeted him with a blaring sound, and began to look for her. Knowing that she had been here, he figure she could not have gone far, but she was no where to be seen.
"Quill?" he called out. His head turned side to side as he began to circle the ancient tree. His nose winkling at its tip while he tried to catch onto her scent. "Where the bloody hell are you?"
(Also, I just got MSN not too long ago. Do you use it?)
(I do, I'm just not on
Quill finished hiding the hat just as the stag approached the Oak. With a wicked grin, she came out of the very front of it, her head tilted to the side.
"'Ey, somethin' wrong, Cyph? Yew look a mess. Hmm...Mebbe you lost somethin'?" The teasing tone edged her voice, but she attempted to keep her eyes innocent. Her ears pulled forward as if she were listening for a response. With a blink, she sat down, looking around as if she could spot whatever he had lost. Her small body hardly covered the entrance to the Oak, but it did provide a small block.
"I ain't seein' it, whatever it is...Hm. What could it be? Mebbe I could help ya look fer it, Cyph? I gotta say, I'm pretty good at findin' things..." Quill whistled a soft tune, glancing around. She heaved herself up and began to look around. Suddenly, she glanced at the Oak and widened her eyes. As if to betray that look, she winked with her back turned to him.
"Oh! Cyph...I remember somethin' strange in there somewhere. Mebbe it's whatever yew lost...?" she asked, eyebrows rising and flashing him her characteristic wicked grin. All of a sudden, she realized his clothes were missing and began to laugh. To her credit, she tried hard to stifle it, but it burst out anyway.
"Yew goin' in tha buff, Cyph? 'Course, doesn' really count 'round here..." she snorted, managing a sort of girlish giggle that was incredibly abnormal for her.
(Yeah, I don't expect myself
"Oh god!" Cypher yelled while he somewhat rose to his hind legs. His front legs batting away at the air in attempts to defend himself against an airy enemy. Years of being forced to endure paranormal phenomenons left him somewhat on the edge. Despite his suave attitude, he could be easily startled. It was a fact he was not pleased to admit. Someone of his age and with his background was always seen impossible to surprise, but in the right conditions, he could be caught off guard. "Quit fannying around! he scolded as he caught his breath. His pale cheeks gaining a small shade of color from embarrassment. His blackened bangs hung down above his forehead as he continued to peer at her.
"You know damn well what I lost, you little thief," His face brightened from more embarrassment as he realized she was not much different than him. A thief stole from a thief, how ironic the world could be at times. His ears flattened against his bushy fur as he let out a frustrating sigh, "Goddamn it..."
As he brooded over the situation, the doe's laughter erupted before him. His head tilted to his side in confusion as his brow rose. It took a second for him to realize the source of continuous giggles. He looked down at himself. Fully exposed minus the mask he still wore around his eyes. His head lowered as the pressure weighted down on him. Fan-bloody-tastic... I must look like a bloody stripper...
Inside his head, the voice crackled with amusement. It was not use to this type of pain - the pain of social shame. It enjoyed it. Lapping up every drop of his humiliation like a vampire sucking on blood.
"I hope you're pleased with yourself..." he crossly looked at her.
Cypher's performance made
"I don' remember stealin' anythin', Cyph...Nope. Mebbe yer just hallucinatin'." Quill appeared to look shocked, as if she believed he really was. "Mebbe yew need ta lie down, Cyph." With a look of concern, she leaped up, trying to shepherd him towards the pond. "Mebbe yew've gotta fever. Better getchew ta the pond right away!" she mumbled, letting out small bursts of laughter every once in awhile.
When Quill noticed his embarrassment, she smiled more kindly and rubbed up against his leg. "Don'cha worry. Yer jus' gonna attract all them straight lady does in the surroundin' area like that. Eh, wouldn't wanna lose yew in a cluster of squealin' does now!" Quill laughed softly, rolling her eyes. Leaning her head on him to reassure him, she motioned to the Oak.
"Jus' havin' a bit a fun with yew, Cyph. Yew need ta lighten up someday! Yer hat's in there, but I'll get it if yew don' wanna go back in, " she offered.
The stag stared at her as she
He winced as the tree's hum drummed within his ears. In the shadows, he could see his fedora's silhouette outlined by the few rays of sun that slivered inside. Grabbing it, he tossed it into the air and caught it upon his head before exiting the tree.
"Do not fret. I took care of the duty that needed to be done."
"Only missin' yer long line
When he came out, she faked doe eyes and said in a breathy voice, "Mah hero! So brave..." After which, she winked and laughed loudly, returning to her normal look. However, her eyes glittered with warmth. All he needed was to lighten up and he'd be just fine around here.
After glancing him over, she looked back at the pond.
"We better get yew dressed or risk yew gettin' jumped by some fanatical wimmin," Quill stated, smiling again. With a flick of her tail, she began to bound towards the pond.
(Fuuuuuu I minimized the
Quill's playful swoons only caused the stag to sigh in humiliation, "Yeah, uhuh. Let's just go."
The two trotted back towards the pond as he pouted. By the time they had arrived, his clothes were fully clean but were sobbing wet. They would need to try before he would be able to wear them again. Using his teeth, he tossed the shirt and vest into a near by weeping willow tree and stretched the material out across the sagging branches.
"It will take awhile for them to air dry. What shall we do till then?"
((I wondered what happened!
Quill rolled her eyes. "Yer a nutcase, Cypher," she muttered. "Really nutty."
As she followed him down the embankment, she noted exactly where he put the clothes. With a grin, she leaped up, but unfortunately fell rather short of her goal. With a pretend pout, she splashed into the water and grabbed a drink, thinking.
"'Ey, I mentioned mushrooms...Mebbe I could innerduce yew ta spells?" Quill asked, once she lifted her head from getting the drink. She looked at him sideways, waiting for his answer.
"Spells?" Cypher looked down
(Damn that's a short reply. I have no idea what else to say.)

He watched and saw the blue stag rise to leave. A small rush of guilt stabbed at Cypher. How rude of it of him to be so blunt with the newcomer. "Cypher," he called out towards the figure wandering away, "My name is Cypher, and who might you be, good sir?" He through the question onto the end of his sentence, trying to make amends for his lack ethics. While he might have been in pain, it was no excuse.

I have made some adjustments to the biography, including finally udating his personality to match what he is now compared to what I imagined he would be and giving a better physical description of him. Fan art has been updated on top of the relationship tab. A fighter's chart has been included and I added a "writing" section.
Carry on!
