Do not Think I do not see you. [Sasha]

He was never one to have patience with the foolish, but this one was exceptionally childish.

It would stand there dancing on the edge of his vision and has been circling for the past ten minutes.

The body language said "I fear you."

Commonsense and prior knowledge translate this behavior into "PAY ATTENTION TO ME! HEY LOOK OVER HERE I'M AFRAID OF YOU!"

He sighed softly and turned his head again to attempt to ignore the pest, and yet again it ran up to ensure he was aware it was terrified of him.

He was annoyed, short tempered, and unwilling to put up with the female's bullshit.

"Do not think I do not see what you are trying to do."

It wasn't a shout, but if she did not shove off and find someone else to beg attention from it would be.

It answered with the normal stereotypical screams, cries, and cowering.

Ooh no its a little mini deer with bright colours and itty bitty little antlers.
My god it's *terrifying!*
Hide your fawns, hes a killer.
Sitting right there in a sun spot, alone, not making any attempt to get off his ass to socialize.
Clearly the greatest threat the forest had ever seen.

Ah well. Didn't hurt to take the bait occasionally.

She wanted something to fear eh?
He'd give her something to fear.

A few spells sneezed off and he was promptly ready to raise hell and harrass her until it took off the mask and smiled.

Or threw more of a tantrum.

Either was a viable outcome when it came down to it.
Even bad publicity was publicity.

Day 1

Today I have downloaded and registered in the Endless Forest. I am worried though because I cannot see anyone else, nor can I see my pictogram, or name. I click to round button and go to 'networks'. There is nowhere to input my log in information. I hope the people who got me into this game can help, since I'd love to play it with everyone.

[Sequence 3] - Choice

“See?” Sky said quietly, "You haven't been forgotten."
Cloud looked at his brother and frowned, “I don’t want to leave you,” He said quietly.
The young whitetail smiled sadly and nuzzled his brother, “I’m not as far away as you think, even if it feels like it sometimes.”
Cloud nodded slowly, “I’ve decided. I choose life.”
Sky breathed a sigh of relief. “I’m afraid that you won’t be able to wake up just yet,” He added, “You did take quite a hit to the head.”
The gray buck nodded, “I’ll be fine.”
Cloud got to his hooves. Instinctively he seemed to know the way back, almost like a sort of tugging on his very being. He took one step then paused, turning back to his younger brother. “Sky,” He said.
“Hmm?”
“You’ve saved me once now, it’s only fair that I return the favor. I’m going to find a way to bring you back…you and mother.”
Sky looked surprised then saddened. “I’m afraid that it’s too late for her.”
“What?”
“She can't come back now. She's gone on passed this place.”
Cloud thought over Sky’s words, “You…haven’t, though, right?”
Sky just smiled.
Suddenly, Cloud felt as though he was being pulled away by a great force. The light was fading and so was his brother. He was falling again. “Sky! Sky, wait!” He cried desperately.
The light was gone…and so was Sky.

Cloud yielded to sleep.
~~
Thank you, all of you. Cloud will live.
He will sleep for three days and wake up on the fourth…maybe a bit different than how you remember him.

Good luck, big brother.

[Sequence 2] - Plunge

Days had passed since the nightmare yet it still hung on Cloud’s mind like a weight. He wondered what the dream had meant; he hadn’t ever had a dream like it before or since. Maybe it’d just been another nightmare, nothing more and nothing less? Maybe he was just overreacting?
Cloud shook his head and tried to concentrate on where he was going, not that he ever paid much attention anymore. Nowadays, he always felt like he was going in circles. His direction in life was lost...and he could not find it. It was as if he was trapped with no way out.
There are ways, His inner voice muttered, there are many ways.
It was then that he realized he was standing on cold, hard stone.
He stood at the edge of the precipice again, looking out across the forest from the top of the tallest boulder of the playground. Cloud backed away from the edge as before. He wanted to run, to get away from this place, but he stayed rooted to the spot. His heart beat furiously in his ears, drowning out all other noise.
Jump, His inner voice whispered poisonously, it will all be over and you will be free.
Cloud laid his ears back. “No…”
What do you have to lose? What do you have to live for?
Cloud took a breath. “Nothing,” He replied, his voice sounded dead and cold, “Nothing at all.” He stepped back and raised his head, “But I won’t jump.”
There is no stopping the inevitable. You want to jump.
“I. Will not. Jump,” Cloud repeated, biting off each word with defiance.
You cannot change fate.
Suddenly, a flurry of birds rose from the forest floor right in front of the buck and took flight with a great commotion. Startled by the sudden movement and noise, Cloud reared up with a frightened bellow. As he came back down, a large portion of rock came loose beneath his hoof and threw him off balance.

The Trade [short story]

This was a collab between me and Kali, who owns Osias. We finally just finished this! I have to first say that this was a 'what if' kind of story, so no, it hasn't happened. But I wanted to explore another side of what could have happened. Osias likes to play games with Kaoori, because she is a deer that thinks with her heart above all else. And it gets her into trouble. I know this sounds bad, but comments are love. We worked hard on this. Smiling She did the final editing, so she did most of the work.

---------------------------------

There was an unsettling presence about the forest, even when well lit by a
rising moon. Stars flickered mindlessly, lending their light upon the
forest's ruins, gray stones slated with moss and the spirits of those long
gone. It was held sacred by many, who so often came to pay their respects
to the departed with bows and poppies. Others, however, watched over the
graves with other sentiments. One such figure sat stoically upon his slab
of stone, the consistent hum of wings lingering about his ancient form.
His name was Osias, the Lord of the Flies. He observed the insects with
hollow eyes the very color of onyx. It wasn't until a figure in the
distance perked his interest that those eyes narrowed and followed.

A lone doe was approaching the ruins, from this point a safe haven for
her. She had never thought of it to be anything else; it was quiet and not
unwelcoming; friends were at rest here, where she could come to talk to.
Dark navy fur covered her body, toned with gold stripes, and the markings
of the stars. Her gold hooves made a soft clicking sound as she leaped
upon the stones left from whoever roamed in this forest before the deer.
Ears topped with gold flicked from side to side, and her nostrils flared
as she registered something strange here that she had never encountered
before, something that didn't seem to belong.

Subject #5236 – Codename: SideWinder (Part One)

Chapter One – The End

He could remember nothing. Well, almost nothing. His mother was a blur, a shadow in the fuddled clouds of his memories. He could, however, recall the warm caress of her tongue. He remembered the rhythmic motions and velvety feel of it across his back. He remembered her life-giving milk that she so generously gave him, and its faint taste of hazelnuts. His mother was a good doe, as he recalled. Her lovely golden pictogram floating atop her head just as his did. They looked so similar, yet so alike. The symbols were their names, for spoken names were deadly in the endless forest.

His life had been normal, wonderful and delightfully normal. His mother would take him on such long, meandering walks, taking large strides as her son would run to keep up with her. They would walk all day and sleep all night. Then the next day, they would keep walking. They walked for such a long time, for his mother always told him that she wanted to see “The End”. He never had understood what she had meant by that. That was, of course, until they had found it.

They had been walking countless days when they had found “The End”. Oh, and how lovely it was! Bright sunlight peeped though the brambles surrounding the forest. He had never seen such a dazzling display of light as the two fearlessly marched through it! “We have found The End to The Endless, my son.” He remembered her say, her sweet voice still clear in his fumbled mind. He remembered the shining smile on her human-like face, and the sweet smell of her pelt as she had said,

"We are free…
