A Cake in the Endless Forest (shortstory)

Kinsha trained in the Forest one day, honing in on his ninja skills. He hid behind trees, scanned the area, and moved swiftly and silently. On a particular day, he happened to see something odd in the middle of an open area.

A red velvet cake sat on a plate in a patch of sunlight. Tilting his head, the ninja approached the strange object, sniffing it curiously. "What is this doing here?", he questioned. Inspecting the cake, he was very tempted to taste it, but he shook his head, "No, I must practice my discipline. I will sit here and watch this cake, and maybe I will learn it's purpose here."

So he sat and meditated by the cake. He reflected on the white icing, wondering how it tasted. But he refused to give into temptation.

During this time, Marik trotted by. Stopping, he looked over at the ninja and the cake. "A cake? Is this some kind of trick?", he questioned, and approaching, he asked Kinsha, "Is this your cake? It looks quite good..."

Kinsha shook his head, "It does not belong to me, but...", however before he could finish the statement, Marik had quickly taken a bite out of the cake. Kinsha watched as the other swallowed the chunk of it and wiped his mouth with his leg. "Mmm...a little dry. Oh well...", Marik spoke, and then walked off.

The inside of the cake was now exposed, and Kinsha was more tempted to try it now that someone else had taken a bite. But he waited, now nervous that the owner of the cake would blame him for it having a chunk missing.

At this time Quad noticed the cake there. He approached and bowed to Kinsha, then speaking, "What in the world is this?" Kinsha tried to explain to him what a cake was, but he tilted his head. Looking at the strange human delicacy, his mouth watered. "Just looking at it makes me want to try some. I know this isn't mine but since someone has already eaten some it wouldn't hurt to try a little.", he spoke, and bending down, he ate a piece of the cake as well.

Seed's Poetry Corner: The Deer who Sleeps in Water (For Scape)

This is a little something I wrote when thinking back over the years to my very first friendship, and it stands in honor of that.

The Deer Who Sleeps in Water
There's something of the water about you:
something of the hills that roll like ocean waves,
that you come flying off of to hover, point-perfect, in the air;
Maybe it's the river-running water, mixing blue with staining berries
dripping like sweet and giddy wine off of your lips.

Could it be the tears of mine
that you've endured, letting them pool
into the fur of your neck, patient as a stone?

Or the water that we rest on, eyes heavenward,
floating downstream like the sticks and leaves,
laughing at the world that's pooled out around us?

No, it's just the water, still clinging
as I cling, to your ankles:
the water that you met me on that day,
ripples pooling about our hooves, the future mirrored beneath us...
The future where you were my brother,
that formed in our reflections that day.

There's something of love about you,
hidden like your sleeping-stones,
shining through the water.

((This was another incredibly bromance-filled visit to Seed's Poetry Corner. This was also a gift poem for Pega, Request Yours Today!))

Woden's Transformation

“It was in a dream that he was awakened. It was in a dream she had spoken to him. And it was in a dream she had given him her gift.”

((So this is my “RockHound” story. I tried to do justice to Quadraptor’s original idea but added my own vision for the forest lore and Woden’s history. This event is supposed to have taken place during the attack on Nekumbra and the deer who decided to give her aid.))

The Beginning of Darkness (Iugulare's Origin)

Writing response for my Character Questionnaire after getting feedback that Iugulare needed more background info. Enjoy Eye

-----------------------------------------------------------------

The surface of the planet seemed barren. A red sky covered iron-rich soil, giving a look very similar to that of Mars.

But this planet was anything but uninhabited. Many structures rose from the ground, though very hard to see. The creatures would rise up and enjoy the surface during the night hours, and during the day they stayed in their underground cities, illuminated by glowing crystals.

Venterm was a planet inhabited by creatures made of pure viral infection. But despite their nature, they were a peaceful race. The Goxi were a race of researchers, their bodies taking the shape of various alien creatures they had found throughout the galaxy. Through peaceful negotiations, the Goxi would travel to various worlds and offer moments of peace for the alien creatures, letting them sleep for short moments of time within their infectious bodies while they learned everything they could about the new species. They often brought some back to Venterm for further research. Those who did not have a host creature they infected used crystals deep within the planet to live off of. The crystals contained the perfect elements for them to use, and often their eye color was determined by the crystal they held within.

This was a safe process for the aliens who volunteered to come to the infectious world...that is, until they met Iugulare...

One of the Goxi walked into a chamber where many of the research aliens were comfortably held. They consented to the research and slept here, having beautiful dreams created by the infection as it entered into their brain.

*Note*
This takes place in the poppies at roughly (-56,99) on the map... a place I call Aureia's Garden. This area has all kinds of flowers and saplings and trees.

The Caged Stag

WAIT! DON'T READ THE
STORY YET!

If you have not read The Monster yet, please do so now. If you have, then read on.

(btw, this story is based off recent events)
------

The peacock stag was tired of being depressed. All he wanted was a day where he can actually stop crying for once. He sighed as he looked at his reflection. Then... he heard dancing and laughing. He turned and saw Phobos, Honeyfur, Nanetta, and some moose called... Moose, all wearing the red pelt, hanging by the Crying Idol.

Maybe Peirce could join them. Actually have some fun. Be friends again. Happy ending. He walked up to them, hesitating a little, then saying "Hi!" All the deer turned around, looking at him.

Phobos scratched the ground. "We don't want you here, Peirce." Honeyfur snorted, Moose started trying to shoo Peirce away, and Nane... well, she was so small, the only thing she could really do was yell at him to shoo.

Peirce was shocked. He was not expecting them to reject them. "Guys... I didn't... mean... any harm..." He started to back away. Phobos started to taunt at him.

Stop it! Do you know how hard it is to shoo away the monster?

But the orange stag could not read his mind and kept shooing him. He started to rear.

...That.... is....it...

Peirce started to shake with anger and rage as the monster clenched him. He roared a raged moo, and charged at Phobos knocking him into the river. He got up, shook, spraying droplets everywhere, and reared, a warning for Peirce. But Peirce didn't respond, because he was trapped inside the body of the monster. He knocked Phobos over, smashing him to the ground. Dust flew everywhere. Suddenly Peirce felt hooves and antlers. Moose charged into his side and Nane was attacking his legs, making it nearly impossible to move. Then he saw Honeyfur. He saw her rear.
