Updates september 27th, 2022;

Fixing a lot of stuff around on bios while I try to get back into things <3
Tried to get back into TEF last year as well, but then my dog's health declined and in the beginning of december last year she had to be put down, my best friend for close to 15 years.

This took such a heavy toll on me and I think was a major reason for why I was unable to get back into TEF. But yeah, new attempt! So if you ever spot any of my characters in the forest, pls don't be afraid to say hello to them or poke me on discord or something <3

Heh, yeah, I think she figured he wasn't so dangerous after all, now that he is lacking those large wings. xD
But yes, it was very nice. It'll probably happen some more in the future, now that she trust him more. ♥

Poor Fawn, Malik's bored and wants company whether she likes it or not |D

Snowsauria's picture

One ear twitched and she

One ear twitched and she nearly jumped as the stag spoke to her. Fawn's nerves were already tensed, she was alert and ready to flee if the stag came too close to comfort. But for now, he seemed okay.
"It...it feels s-safe in...there." She replied, her voice barely more than a whisper. And it did, despite the fact that she had already experienced being trapped in there once. Fawn turned her head to cast a quick glance at the stag, before she withdrew her gaze, rather shyly.

( Pfft, Malikorin. xD Well, he is in luck, because she isn't as skittish as she usually would have been around someone with such large antlers. xD The last time she was in the forest she met a large antlered skullface, and he turned out to be really nice, so... she feels a bit safer around large antlered deer, I guess. For now. xD )
Apparanza's picture

Malikorin's olive gaze slid

Malikorin's olive gaze slid sideways just in time to catch her brief glance. It was almost comical - she, tensed and prepared to leap to her hooves and run far away with the slightest hint of danger, and he, completely relaxed and composed. "Maybe so. But... doesn't it also feel like a prison? Imagine, you trapped in there, your only escape route blocked, teeth snapping at your face. Does that feel safe to you?" His tone was nothing but calm as he spoke, and he barely looked at her.

{LOL 'for now' xD}

Fawn listened silently. The

Fawn listened silently. The stag's calm voice was almost soothing, but she didn't dare to relax. It could just be a trick from him, an attempt to actually make her relax before he attacked. But why would he wait, it would have been an better opportunity when she was hiding, becaus the stag was right; it was much like a prison. A cold shiver ran along her spine at what he wanted her to imagine, at the thought of being trapped like that. Fawn quietly shook her head as an answer to his question.
"It feels...felt...safe in t-there because no one would...would notice me. Usually." She then said, her voice still quiet as she tried to explain why she had decided to hide in such place.

( Lol, yeah, I'm pretty sure something is gonna cause her to freak out again soon enough. Not necessarily Malik, though it might seem like I meant him. xD )
Apparanza's picture

Malikorin looked sideways

Malikorin looked sideways again at her, watching for her reaction. He got a shiver. Good enough. One ear swiveled to face her direction when she spoke. "Mm." Her words were true. He almost hadn't noticed the doe himself, her hiding place concealed from almost every direction. He had never even taken notice of the place itself before today, seeing her inside it. "I see." A pause. "Have you ever been trapped in there by someone else?"

{Ah, I see. Poor girl~♥}

By Leuvr
Snowsauria's picture

Fawn didn't speak again

Fawn didn't speak again immediately, partly because she didn't really want to answer that question. She would feel rather stupid, if admitting she had already experienced being trapped inside there and still she used it as a hiding place. But she didn't dare _not answering his question either.
"Once." She whispered, with a tiny nod.
"But..I wasn't a-alone then. There was an-an another doe there with me and I..I don't know if they were after her or..or me." Since they had been two hiding in there, they had managed to push their way past the one who had - perhaps unintentionally - trapped them there. Fawn really didn't want to experience the same thing while being alone, because the other doe's presence had given her enough strength to fight her own fear. She wasn't sure if she would be able to fight her fear while being alone - especially not if she was trapped by someone. Fawn swallowed, and tried to push the scary thoughts away.

( ♥ It's quite fun playing a skittish deer like her though. xD )
Apparanza's picture

Malikorin waited for her

Malikorin waited for her response patiently. He had all the time in the world. He wasn't expecting to hear that she had indeed been trapped inside there before, and he turned his head towards her a little bit when she said so. One ear remained facing her direction to clearly catch all that the doe had to say.
"What if the next time it happens, you are alone? What will you do then?"
The stag shifted into a more comfortable position, turning his head to face forward again while an eye remained on Fawn.

{I agree, playing Liange is fun too C:}

Fawn shifted as well, but not

Fawn shifted as well, but not to sit better. She shifted because this conversation made her feel uncomfortable. Why did he want to talk about this, and why did he seem so sure she was going to get trapped there again? Fawn swallowed silently, before she turned to look at the stag again, suddenly with a surprisingly determined look on her face.
"Then I would have to fight." Only a slight shiver in her voice gave her away, a shiver that told she wasn't as certain as she wanted to give the impression of being. But it was all basic instincts, wasn't it? If running away was impossible, the only option possible was to fight. Fawn really wasn't the type to get violent, not unless she was desperate and panicking - which she might as well could become if trapped again.

"No point, he is not here now." The fawn shrugged, her facial expression not revealing how shaken she was after the attack.
"But it's easy to tell. It was not a deer, it was....scaly and ran on two legs. Like a little dragon without wings." This was the easiest way to describe what she had seen, she had no idea if Sax knew what a dragon was or not.

"No." Bluntly, calmly. Maskless, it was possible to see his teeth sink into his tongue, keeping him from spilling harsh words. "Misunderstandings. They end now."
Snowsauria's picture

"I must ask you to enlighten

"I must ask you to enlighten me then, because - being the ignorant cow I am - I am not quite sure what kind of misunderstandings you are talking about." Illrose's voice were calm too, her face was turned to look forward, away from the bird-deer.
cicadia's picture

Offended. Of course she was.

Offended. Of course she was. "My intentions, of course."
Snowsauria's picture

"Your intentions? Weren't

"Your intentions? Weren't your intentions to 'fix' him?" Her voice slightly harsher now, although she still didn't look at the bird-deer, her head rested instead on the torn body next to her, in an attempt to keep him warm and sheltered from the snow and cold.
"What I see and what I'm told makes me doubt on your 'fixing', so I suggest you find a different method, one that doesn't involve destroying him completely first."
cicadia's picture

"You know I didn't do that,

"You know I didn't do that, don't you?" Eyes flashed briefly in their direction, before settling ahead of him once more. "Didn't touch him this time."
Snowsauria's picture

"I know." Illrose replied

"I know." Illrose replied shortly. She had already talked with Jack before he fell unconscious, and knew the reason for his wounds. Her head remained lying gently on the stag's back, but her ears were pointed in the bird-deer's direction.
cicadia's picture

"Then you should also know I

"Then you should also know I will not go that far." The sound of shifting, as he settled himself on the stone wall. Quietly, he chuckled, his voice slipping into its common rhythm and pitch. "Foreign c-concept, yes, but...heh...bird may just may give a shit...what happens to him..."
Snowsauria's picture

Finally, she lifted her head,

Finally, she lifted her head, turned it and looked at the bird-deer.
"Then why do you hurt him?" She asked, her voice now simply confused, perhaps a bit saddened.
"How is he going to get fixed if old wounds gets ripped open, if old memories is brought to the light? Isn't it better to let the past be past and help him move forward instead?" This was all her point of view, because Illrose didn't really know who was responsible for what when it came to all of this,. She didn't know exactly what Bright had said and done, or what the clothed stag had said and done, but she had seen the result of it; an physically and mentally wounded Jack.
cicadia's picture

He turned his gaze to her,

He turned his gaze to her, and subsequently made eye contact he would refuse to break. "No." Disgust flashed over his features, but it was controlled quickly, stowed away. Something more placid, almost apologetic took its place. "That is the ignorance, yes? Ignoring. Ignoring the problem." Slowly, he licked at the thick layer of dried blood at his lips. A useless attempt. "And it is a problem. No...mistake...about this, no..."

Never loosing sight of her eyes, he slid off the wall less than easily and paced unsteadily until he was alongside the two.
"He is building resistance, Rosedeer. Coddling will not help."
Snowsauria's picture

Illrose remembered. They had

Illrose remembered. They had been through this before. She held the bird-deer's gaze, waited for him to look at her with disgust and disbelief again, waiting to be called ignorant once more. She saw the disgust in a flash, enough to make her grit her teeth even though no insults came this time.
"Then tell me what the problem is." She said, her voice colder again, but her eyes still remained focused on his. Illrose tensed as he moved closer, but for now she wouldn't do anything about it. She just placed her head to rest protectively over Jack's back again, her eyes still on Bright.
cicadia's picture

At that, his head tilted, he

At that, his head tilted, he leaned toward her...Incredulously, his lips twitched upward, tugging and distorting his scars. It would be dangerous to put it into words, really. He knew this. Copious amounts of tact were need here, lest someone be offended.
"Anger." It seemed a safe way to start.
"So angry...at small things...so broken. So easy, to trigger. Nerves, without...out...skin over them..." His eyes dimmed slightly, his smile disappearing. "Unsafe. What if...Rosedeer was not around, eh? And he...self...destructed..." As he trailed off, the tongue made another brief appearance. His eyes unfocused as well, seeming to stare behind her rather than at her.

Snowsauria's picture

Illrose only tilted her head

Illrose only tilted her head slightly.
"Perhaps he wouldn't have been so angry if he had just been left alone, given peace and time to let wounds heal and forget everything that was painful." Was her only reply to that. Illrose still couldn't see how ripping up in Jack's past could help him. Sure, in the end it perhaps would make him stronger - unless he was destroyed completely in the process.
cicadia's picture

Still quite unfocused, the

Still quite unfocused, the bird creature raised and allowed his wings to fall in a sort of shrug.
"Unrealistic." Fell from his lips in a dull murmur. "Doesn't work that way, deerthing. Can't...expect t' keep Jackdeer away from all problems, she she? Heh...eh, no..."

Sharply, he shook his head, shattering the warped staring contest.
"Mayhaps...be glad jus' one those problems cares about him. Knows to stop."

Snowsauria's picture

"It should have been able to

"It should have been able to work that way. Especially in a place like this." Illrose coldly replied. But she then shook her head, a rather tired and hurt look finally reaching her face.
"Nothing of this is making me glad." And that was the reason she didn't want to get involved in this, not now that she had managed to fight away the pain of being left out. Illrose didn't want anymore pain and worries, but to be glad and carefree.
cicadia's picture

For a long moment, the bird

For a long moment, the bird was silent. Fighting with himself, shoving insults out of his mind before they ended up being said. He turned his back to her and slowly began to drag away... "Can't please them all," he murmured as he went, possibly to himself.

Rest was needed now. He would return later to check on the stag's condition...

"What is your name?" She then asked him.

Illrose remained silent for a moment. Did she really feel better? No, she didn't, because something always happened that brought her down again just when she tried to convince herself everything was okay. But Illrose had already decided she would stay strong no matter what happened, she didn't want to end up feeling like she had done by the river. Not again. So she smiled as she looked at the stag once more.
"Yes, I did." She answered him.
"Indeed I am. And it's nice to see you again too, Adriian. I appreciate your company."
