My deer
La is in the beta and doesn't get to encounter others very often. As a result, I don't get to interact with you other players, and that makes me kind of sad--especially when I see all the bios for awesome deer that I want La to meet. Anyone who wants to RP with La is welcome to jump in because
I'm so lonely we'll have a lot of fun!
[This is currently categorized under "Miscellaneous" because I'm not sure where else to put it.]
You up to a RP with my
La squinted to see the tall,
She knew there were many deer in The Forest, but it was rare for them to investigate her Ruins for more than a minute or so before moving on. If she wanted to make friends (and she did) she had to act fast before the deer moved on.
Her spindly fawn legs took her at an awkward canter to the stranger. La bowed politely, containing her excitement at the prospect of social interaction.
Kheiron looked up as he heard
His ears pointed in a surprised manner at the fawn. "Oh hello there, I didn't see you at first!"
Kheiron wasn't the most observant deer in the forest. He was often oblivious to what was happening around him, and it was quite often that others had to greet him first because he simply didn't notice them.
"I haven't seen you before. You new here?" he said in a calm but cheerful tone, pulling of a smile only Kheiron could do.
(I mostly imagine him without his mask in RPs btw^^)
"La," she said with a nod.
“Kheiron”, he answered when
He watched the fawn as she jumped and leaped around him. Normally he would’ve joined any fawn that wanted to play, but his body was still aching from when he… fell.
He watched her for a little while before he sighed; “I’m sorry La, I would join you but I had a little, uh, accident, and I think I should take it easy for a while.”
He looked down at her with an expression that told her he was truly sorry. He didn’t like letting any youngsters down like this.
La stopped moving about and
She queried, "La? Lala?" with the inflection of What happened? Are you alright? Genuine concern showed in her round brown eyes.
Kheiron had laid down and
"Oh, it was nothing!" he said with a cheerful tone. "No, really. I just fell. It's nothing, just a pair of bruises."
He tried to sound cheerful but didn't succeed too well.
"Uh, well."
He got up again. He didn't want to look completely crippled.

*curious track*
La had never seen a deer fall
"La," she said flatly. I don't buy it.

He looked at her, quite
His voice got a bit stronger, but it was still friendly. He hadn't expected the little fawn to oppose him, so he was just trying to convince her.
He was smiling inside though. This was a tough little fellow, not the average naïve kid. No, this one was clever.
(ahahah I don't want to say too much on this actually xD La might be wrong about him lying, and she might be right. See if she can figure it out 8D)
Me can haz RP? I am lonely
lonelyseeking fun too. Somehow the 3 RPs I'm currently participating of are inactive/cancelled. ._.'If yes, should create a new one or join any you've got there?

Yay I bet I can manage to kill Kheiron this time Oh wait I'm spamming too ahhhh((Eternal, would you mind
La interpreted his defensiveness as further evidence of falsehoods and as an invitation to be inquisitive.
"Lalala, la," she prompted. Explain yourself, and why you can't play with me.
She failed to notice that her feelings of entitlement to a playmate were rude, and that it was not her business to bother Kheiron.
(ahahah I love your fawn
Kheiron sighed. "I already told you! I fell, and now I'm hurt. There's really nothing more to it!"
He rolled his eyes. A little smile was hiding behind his lips and he actually found the situation rather amusing. What a cute little fawn. But I guess you're mostly words instead of act. Let's see if I'm right...
He suddenly took a few, quick steps toward the fawn, striking the ground in front of her with one of his front legs with a strict force. Not enough to scare the little one or to come off as intimidating, but enough to tell her that enough was enough. He didn't want to explain the matter further. He was simply too proud.
{Ok I got a problem, Lily is
Also, I don't want to disturb your fawn D':}
She bristled and flattened
More softly, she said, "La?" But you are okay right?
"Yeah, I'll be fine", he
He looked around to see if anyone was near, and when he saw they were not, he reached down near the fawn's ear and whispered; "...I'll might tell you what happened later", with a secretive grin.
He tossed his head and raised his neck proudly as he began walking; lifting his legs high above the ground to look even more proud. While, of course, he pulled off one of his recognizable smiles that was so big it almost reached his eyes.
He hoped he had made the fawn curious. Yes, yes, he had gotten a liking to this fawn already, and he wanted to have it's full attention.
He winked the fawn over to his side. "What you think of this place yet? You like it here?"
Probably a stupid question to ask a fawn, but heck. Kheiron knew there are a lot of miserable deer in this forest, and he hoped this fawn was an exception.
(aw sorry for a non-creative reply, but I'm tireed D8 forgive me. at least it was a bit lengthy? xD)
La's eyes widened at the
To his question, she nodded with a grin almost as broad as her new friend's. "La!" She said, drawing herself up to her full height. I love it here!
As an afterthought, she grunted and gestured with her head toward s squirrel, giving the arboreal rodent a cold look. "Lala," she said in a low voice. But I don't like those squirrels.
His eyes followed the rodent
He couldn't understand what the little one had against these little creatures. They had never bothered him, and he had no idea what harm they could possibly do - with them being so small and all.
They are fun to chase, though.
La indicated, with her nose,
She heaved a great sigh as if she was bearing the weight of the world on her shoulders and said, "la" in a quiet voice. Acorns.
"Ohh..." Kheiron hadn't
Kheiron hadn't thought of that before. But as mentioned; he was often oblivious to things. He didn't notice small things like this. If he approached a tree and said tree didn't have any acorns on it, that was just how it was and he would find another tree. He hadn't thought of why the acorns weren't there. Neither had he noticed that squirrels ate them.
But then again, he was tall and probably managed to reach up to acorns that the small critter beside him could only dream of reaching.
"Well, but the squirrels have to eat something, right? We can eat mushrooms and grass and pinecones, while they have to keep to the acorns. And besides, in the end there's more than enough to all of us!"
He smiled, tried to sound cheerful and thought himself that he succeeded well with it this time. "Heh. The Twin-Gods provide us with all the food we need, so don't worry. You'll eat more acorns than you'll dream of if you're patient enough."
He reached up to a branch on an oak besides them and managed to obtain some acorns for La. He gently placed them on the ground in front of her and pushed them further towards the fawn so there were no mistake that he was offering them to her.
He smiled. "Consider it a... uh, welcoming gift?"
He chuckled. That last sentence wasn't very well thought-out. Oh well, he had only good intentions.
"La," she said, grudgingly
What he said was true, about the Twin Gods giving what was needed. La reflected on that and knew that her gift was The Book. It was still in the cellar of The Ruins. She resolved to show it to her new friend.
Voice muffled by the acorns in her mouth, she indicated ("La! Lala!") that Kheiron should follow her to The Ruins.
Kheiron watched as the fawn
The words that left his lips were so quiet they sounded like whispers among the trees.
It was clear that La was heading for something, but Kheiron had absolutely no clue for what it could be.
"Is there something you want to show me, La?"
He got more and more curious, but waited for La to show him whatever it was she wanted to show him.
"La," she said. Yes. The
Without looking behind her, La went to the big hole in the middle of The Ruins, what had once been a cellar. She jumped down with practiced ease and went to what remained of an old, subterranean wall, where part of a shelf was intact. On the shelf there rested a red leather bound book. La's special book. She removed it from the shelf awkwardly, wishing she had thumbs like the humans she had read about.
Kheiron saw La disappear in
But then he noticed something he had never seen before. And a small, thick, rectangular object laying on it.
And it looked so detailed and... complex. (and he still doesn't know it's possible to open it...)
He felt a bit embarrassed for not noticing this before, but it was dark down that hole...
His ears straightened forwards in excitement and wonder. "What is... that?"
He felt almost stupid for asking, but he had never seen something like that and he really had no idea.
And it sure seemed like it had great importance for little La.
-curious tracking of the
She used her nose to open the
It is called a book, was printed neatly in large letters. It is used for keeping knowledge safe.
La turned the page. It said, What do you think?
{Okeyz Lily rested for two
Sunlight hitted the grey stone, darkened the black shade and lighted the green shapes...
...reflected by young oak leaves that danced on the collapsing stone, challenging the dark shadow.
Sunlight also made visible a black, white and blueish-grey sillouette laid between three ruining walls and the trunks of two oaks: a thick, tall and brown one hiding the inner part of the walls with its shadow and a young one on its left, blocking the rest of the entrance to any creature larger than a fawn. The young, small grey doe had been invisible under a stone slab that perhaps had worked as a seat, table or shelf in past times.
Lilly blinked blinded by the sun, and shaked the fur insecurely. How many days had she been in there? The bark-mushrooms from the grown oak were all gone.
Reflecting about the happenings, she wouldn't have found better shelter to rest in the condition she was back then, right after the second time that mad stag had attempted to kill her. She was great at dodging, her small size and agility had saved her life, but that also meant she got tired faster than him and got caught once or twice by blade-sharp antlers. As she limped around, resisting the vertigos while looking for a familiar face, a silent and large Nightfall pelted buck with a sword-like pictogram found her and took her into that corner of the Ruins.
It was perfect; only a small sized deer or a fawn would be able to get in there easily and move inside confortably, and even if that stag tried to get in his powerful antlers would get stuck between the two trees or become useless in the narrow space. There was also the mushrooms stock and a hole from which she could drink the sweet sap of the younger oak. She couldn't remember how many times she had stretched to them delirating from fever and pain and go back to sleep.
The pain stabbed her wounds no more if she stood still, despite the morbid looking of the infected but healed slashes on the right flank, the inflexibility of the ligament of the right hind leg and the rigidity of the muscles of both front limbs. To sum up, she couldn't feel any better. ~Oh my Twin Gods... it's such an amazing day!...~ Catching the scents the breeze brought, she was surprised by the sight of someone with the eyes at the same height as hers, the muzzle some centimetres away from hers outside the shelter.
{Bwahahaha. Poetic flu, too much? My descriptive Rothfuss-like english is confusing+mispelled alot up there.}
Eternal, is there any chance
(Okay, little problem here.
As La turned open the book, Kheiron's eyes widened remarkably. What... what is this..., he thought for himself.
He saw some symbols covering the page; small, organized symbols that reminded him of some of the things he'd seen carved in on e.g The Ruin walls - or simply on deers pictograms. But he had no idea what they were. Decorations? ...magic? Or maybe the symbols held some sort of information, like the pictograms? Anyway, they didn't look like pictograms. These symbols were... simplified. And different.
He cleared his throat, feeling like a complete nitwit; "Uh, La... You need to explain this for me..."
(as far as I know, the symbols used in the pictograms aren't part of a written language, so I couldn't make that excuse either. And even if they are, Kheiron would't know. xD he cannot read the names of other deer by their pictos; he asks for their names and remembers it)
Yas, sure, I understand,
La felt foolish for assuming
She worried that her message wasn't getting across. The real point of showing him The Book wasn't even really about the words. It was The Book itself. She thought about what she wanted to tell her friend, and turned the page delicately with one of her hooves.
A picture of La in The Ruins. Her pictograph is clearly visible in the illustration.
La in the underground cellar area finding the book in the remains of the shelf.
La turned the page hesitantly, looking for understanding in Kheiron's eyes.
Kheiron watched carefully as
"But.... but... It's you!"
He pointed his hoof at the picture in surprise. This shouldn't be possible... No, absolutely not.
He almost felt dizzy because of all this thinking and he didn't really come anywhere with it.
"I don't understand, La... Why... why are you in this thing? It looks so old... Certainly older than you are. And that's not possible..! Or maybe..."
He stopped. Thought for a second before continuing: "Maybe this thing came from The Twin Gods... They have knowledge of everything... They could make this thing possible... I guess. Yes, yes..."
He quickly turned back to the page filled with symbols. Put his face so close to it his nose almost touched the page.
Maybe they mean something... She tried to tell me what they meant, but what? Maybe... maybe they are some kind of a key. A key she managed to break. Maybe if one compare them to eachother... Yes! Here's another one, identical to this one. And this one. And this. But why would someone put identical symbols near eachother? Our pictograms don't work like that... They are completely unique... But wait... Some of the pictograms have similiar structures. Huh... Oh, see! Good Kheiron, you're understanding it now! Look, there's small spaces between the symbols. Maybe they are part of a entirety, like our pictograms are. Maybe the symbols between the spaces are one... Maybe they are built up with the same pieces but when you put the peaces together you get a whole new thing. But oh, wait. Here's another length just identical to this one. That doesn't make any sense, why would one do that? That's like putting two deer with the same pictogram together and watch the chaos it'll make. Multiplying, repeating... That'll just start confusion. Wait... Maybe this is all a hoax. Maybe it's pagan. Maybe it IS magic. Oh shit.
He shook his head. Too much thinking, too much...
"Uh, La... Are you sure this thing is worthy to keep a hold of? I mean; it is really old and it's just filling our heads with gibberish anyway."
La was speechless, more so
The fawn confirmed wonderingly, "La." Magic. She looked adoringly to the book on the floor for a moment and offered a clarifying babble of "lala la." The good kind of magic.
Kheiron quickly drew back and
Idiot. That was rude.
He hadn't expected that reaction from La, though he knew he should have seen it coming. He was only being careful... He didn't want La to cluster herself into something that wasn't good for her.
"Alright... I could've been wrong... I just don't understand... But... are you sure..?", he whispered, afraid he might upset her again.
"And... and where did all the symbols and picture go..?"
For a minute he thought La could decide when the content should be visible or not, but he wasn't sure. That would make sense, because the book should have been found long ago considering how many deer pop into this hole.
La grudgingly accepted
She turned her attention back to the book and concentrated, exaggerating her focus so the stag would get the idea. She had to work hard to make pictures appear--it was so much simpler with words. When she had formed a good image, she turned the page.
On the page there is a picture of Kheiron and La looking at a book on the ground.
"La! Lala!" she exclaimed. I made that.
When he saw the picture of
He decided to settle for the last one. This was starting to make him more curious as ever before.
"So, you control the content of this book..? You made all those symbols? But... what are they?"
He shook his head. Wanted to understand. "Is this thing filled with your... thoughts?"
He looked around them, then back to La. Continued with a tad more faint voice: "Would it be possible for me, you know, to do that? Make a picture appear in this thing?"
She nodded and pranced in
She nudged the book toward him, hoping he'd be willing to give it a try. Having read much of what had been left in the old volume by deer of the past, she was confident that anyone who wanted to use the book could do so if they put their mind to it.
((BTW, This is how Kheiron
Hope you like it!))
(Oh, wow :'D that's awesome,
He quickly got her message and concentrated really hard. Tried to imagine a picture in his head. Concentrated so hard he didn't think clear on what he was imagining. Just got a picture in his head and focused on it.
Then - just like that - he felt he was done; like he had "outthought" the image in his head. He turned the page without further thinking, and his eyes opened wide when he saw what was on the page. He quickly threw his head back, looking really scared for a second.
It was a fawn. A cheerful fawn, actually; a fawn that hopped around somewhere in the forest, smiling broadly with a small light accompanying it. A small light that floated in the air, leading the way for the fawn on the picture.
A small twitch became visible in the corner of his eyes and then a smile quickly covered it up.
His expression then changed back to normal and he suddenly proclaimed; "I made it! It worked!"
(and yes, I do realize there's some grammar mistakes here and there. Forgive me, English is not my first language)
((No, I don't mind if you put
La grinned broadly at Kheiron, hoping that he had felt the magic of The Book as strongly as she had when she first used it.
She looked at the picture that her friend had created, and her broad, excited grin faded to a more quiet, pleased smile--that of a teacher proud of her pupil's work. She rubbed her head against Kheiron's orange leg to congratulate him on a job well done.
The fawn was fascinated by Kheiron's illustration, and she wondered who the fawn was. Had he conjured the picture from memory or fantasy? She pointed at the fawn with one hoof and asked, "Lala?" Who is this?
He hesitated at La's
No way.
"Uh, I don't know. I guess it's just a random fawn. Maybe a friend from my fawnhood."
He was so relieved the pictogram didn't show up on the image. That would have made his explanation a lot more... awkward.
No, he wasn't ready to tell her - or anyone - about this yet. The fact that this image had popped into his head right now actually bothered him. That should not have happened.
For the good news, he began relaying more on this object. He had indeed felt the magic when using it.
"You understand this thing, right, La? The symbols? Do they tell you anything? Like... do they hold any information?"
I'm fighting so hardly the
La nodded--she was completely
Half of the page is covered in writing. The other half shows a large church. Young oak trees are here and there, and a human in a black robe with a white collar stands in front of the structure.
La mumbles, "lala la," this page isn't mine. She rears up on her hind legs to indicate The Ruins around them, and then points to the picture of the church. "La," she says. Here.
(Eternal: What? xD he's not
Alison:
Kheiron was pleased that the fawn didn't ask more about the picture he created. She didn't need to know.
He quickly recognized the structure even if it had changed since the image in the book was created. Kheiron was good at memorizing things he have seen; almost like some form of eidetic memory.
He wasn't quite sure what the shape standing in front of the structure was though, even if there was something familiar about it.
"What is that?", he asked curiously. "It kind of looks like some sort of creature, though I've never seen one like it before. Still, there's something oddly familiar about it... You know what it is, La, don't you?"
La nodded. The fawn was
A bigger picture of the human, big enough to see the face clearly. Two eyes, a nose, a mouth. Very similar to the faces of The Forest's deer.
She looked back up at Kheiron to make sure he followed. "La? Lala..." Do you see? It is like us.
The next picture has many humans, some females among them. They are inside the building that now lies in ruins around La and Kheiron. Some are sitting on wooden constructs.
Another picture, of many humans. They are standing around rocks, pulling the great stones so that they stand up straight. Some of these stones have carvings like faces.
A detailed drawing of men and women collecting small rocks and building the bridge.
La was forever fascinated by the humans' exploits, their ability to carry things with the strange things called 'hands.' La envied them.
