Name: La
     Alias/Title: The Archaeologist of The Endless Forest
     Age: Adolescent; Arrived in The Forest on August 24th, 2010.
     Gender: Female/Doe
     Pictograph: La's Pictograph can be seen in my avatar. It is comprised of a large circle with a smaller, non-concentric circle inside accompanied by two isosceles triangles, one tall and one wide. The wide one occupied the top, the tall one occupies the bottom left. La has put a great deal of time into researching the nature of pictographs and their components.

     Appearance: La has only recently grown up. She is lacking in the set department. The ultimate goal is MONARCH ANTLERS, HANDPRINT MASK, and SPACE BELUGA PELT. My picture above is meant to communicate the sort of handprint pattern she will display. La's research into humans has led her to idolize their hands, and she has hand-like marks in her pelt. If you see La, please help her get her set. La does not have a human form, but if she did she would look like a nerdy little girl.
     Species: Chinese Water Deer, a species notable for its tusks. To my knowledge, La is the first Chinese Water Deer in The Endless Forest. Bucks are the only ones with tusks in real life, but in The Endless Forest, I'm just gonna say that does grow 'em too. La's tusks are small. If ever you see her behaving aggressively and nodding repeatedly, that mean's she's baring her tusks.
     Voice: La has a severe communication disorder, characterized by her inability to form coherent words or sentences. She has no issues when listening to others, reading, or writing. The only word she can vocalize is her name, although she can laugh and make other noises. Kheiron has begun to try to teach La to speak, and in turn she will teach him to read human languages. In roleplays, words from La's book are written in this font, Lucida Console, while the narrative and her vocalizations are in the normal tEFc font.

     Friends: Vipin kept La company on her first day in The Endless Forest. Flyleaf and Ourania were also very friendly and willing to romp with La. She was exploring the "Quiet Forest" (the beta) and was quite alone until she found Priya to play with. On another occasion in the beta Forest, this kind stranger watched over La while she slept. A few days later, La ran into that deer again while it slept, and she watched over it. La once helped Gustiro when he got himself stuck in The Ruins. La loved playing with Priya (who is now called Dechtere Cundrie) when they were both fawns. They have not seen each other since they grew up. La played briefly with Ravus and thinks she's great fun. Lilly taught La how to play Spell-Tag. La is fond of Kheiron, who appears to have many secrets that she wants to learn and he doesn't mind her company. She likes sharing her secrets with him and is learning to speak from him.
     Family: None, but she is coming to think of Kheiron as a big brother.
     Mate: None. La may or may not begin seeking a mate until November or December. When she does, it will probably be male and her choice will be based upon how intelligent she perceives him to be, not how well he fights, and will probably be monogamous. La never intends to be a mother.
     Antagonists: No individuals are currently La's enemies, but anyone who opposes knowledge or the advancement of wisdom is a sworn enemy of La's. I feel that every good character needs a foil, so if anyone has a character that would be a good antagonist for La (for any reason--they could be evil or simply have a conflicting personality) let me know. It could make for a good roleplay as well.

     Origin Story: La woke up in The Endless forest with no idea how she got there or where she is from. Her first day in The Endless Forest was terrifying. La soon made it her goal to investigate The Ruins and identify their secrets.
     La's Book: In The Ruins, in an area that may once have been a cellar, La found a convenient plot device an old, red, leather bound book with blank pages. Upon acquiring the artifact, her pictograph appeared on the front cover. She found that, by focusing on a subject she wanted to study, she could make the book divulge libraries' worth of knowledge left by other deer (and a few humans) who had possessed the book through the ages. She learned that she could leave her knowledge behind in the book, and has been using the heavy volume to share her knowledge with other forest occupants. It is too heavy to carry for more than a short distance, so she keeps it in the cellar. She fears that a malevolent deer might try to take it from her, but none have thus far.
     The book does not give La any kind of useful on-the-spot knowledge and cannot be counted on in a pinch. It is not easy to use, and specific things cannot be researched--for instance, if La wanted to read about The Pond, she would have to sift through pages about water as a chemical, the formation of freshwater bodies, and the importance of running water to amphibians before she learns anything about the history of The Pond. The plot device book is integral to La's character and represents my real-life research into The Endless Forest. It is also the only way I could think of that a deer with a severe communication disorder in a forest could learn about human stuff and share her findings with her peers.
     Professional Life: La has investigated outside of The Ruins. When she realized that The Ruins were the Point of Origin, she was even more fascinated, and soon expanded her research to study all sorts of Forest Relics. On one occasion, La encountered a strange version of herself.

     Personality: La is curious and happens to be a very good listener. She wants friends very badly and approaches strangers near The Ruins and tries to get them to play. If there are many deer in a group nearby, she watches from a distance. She is affectionate, but behaves skittishly if there are loud noises around. All of her major judgments are made very carefully and only after Holmesian observation and deliberation. She rarely behaves with spontaneity. La would like someday to be considered the greatest archaeology in The Forest. She is wary of The Old Oak and she likes all animals in The Forest except for squirrels. La enjoys butterflies. Being a Chinese Water Deer, La is an adept swimmer.

     Body Language: La typically greets deer with a respectful bow. If the bow is reciprocated, she approaches and sniffs. If they shake their head or behave aggressively, she backs off. La tends to interpret signs of excitement as signs of anger.
La will follow the lead of another, as long as he or she doesn't take her too far away from the ruins. If she rears, it means she's excited--not looking for a fight. La's favorite game is to run around, leaping and bounding in circles. She likes to chase and be chased (provided everyone involved knows it's a game). If ever it should come to fighting, aggressive behavior from la accompanied by nodding means she is baring her tusks.

La's Bio will be updated as her character grows. Leave a link to an RP and La will happily join. I have no problems being in multiple RPs at once and I don't mind if more than two people are RPing in the thread. La will be interested in any kind of plot you have in mind, although she doesn't have a human form. Currently I am looking for an antagonist for La.

Since La has grown up, all RPs with her as a fawn will continue to be so until it fits the story for her to have grown. New RPs will have her as an adolescent.

Additionally, I got some CSS working. I wanted her page to look extremely clean and simple, like an essay, because that's most fitting with La's personality. I am using the same CSS for all of La's "research projects."
