Note - This chapter mentions several countries and is not intended to criticize, mock, or otherwise insult them or anyone who lives in them. I tried to go through each country with little detail to prevent this.



The message hung in the air for a few seconds before the deer took in the reality - they were going to leave their sanctuary. None could believe that the Twin Gods had abandoned them, but they could not speak up.

Magnet nodded, "It's settled then.", he said to Silent and Laruna. The deer slowly began to group up, finding the pictograms they knew so they could walk together. Some of the others began to call out in random directions, attracting any other deer to the area, letting all who weren't present know that something was going on...and that they would be left behind if they didn't come.

Quad closed his eyes. He couldn't believe that any of this was the Twin Gods' doing, but he, too, wondered if they had any part in the events that led to seven deaths in the Forest. Something touched him on the side, and he opened his eyes and saw Christine petting him. She seemed a little scared. He nuzzled her and told her what was discussed.

"Don't worry about the deer.", he said to her, "They know not to hurt you. Besides, you've got me here, I won't let any of them harm you." He looked around for Creek, who had vanished into the crowd. About that time a few of his friends came out of the crowd - Scape, Quamar, Rev. Jelly, and Trois. The five discussed the situation in the deer language, Quad occasionally turning to Christine and letting her know what they said.

Hi everyone, finally I finished chapter seven! I think this was the hardest chapter, because I didn't want to repeat to much of HF. Again, I picked the most important pieces and added them. I just hope it looks alright. I have the feeling the quality isn't as good as it used to be...

Have fun reading it anyway!

P.S. Skokey, I hope I got your characters right. Skokey isn't that hard though, because I just copied and pasted from HF. Hope you don't mind, but it was the best way...

CHAPTER SEVEN

It had been another few weeks and Fenqua tried to let Skokey socialize with the other deer. After spending so much time alone, she thought it would be good for him to meet some new friends. Most deer weren’t very pleased to see him, listening to all the words that were spreading. Some of the deer even said he beat up his mother, who left him when he was a newborn. Thanks to his reputation, it was hard for him to make a good impression.
But, one of the stags didn’t seem to care and they had a long conversation with each other.

The next morning, a gentle breeze awoke Skokey from his sleep. He noticed Fenqua was still asleep, so it had to be early. He decided to get up anyway and dipped his head to graze. A butterfly that was circling around his head tried to land on his nose, but took off every time he moved. After a while he spotted something in the distance, a young fawn that had almost reached adolescence. He slowly walked over to her as she came closer. The fawn had large, sad eyes and ears hanging below her chin. Her face was wet and her tail was slowly sawing from side to side. Skokey looked at her black eyes, but she soon looked down again.

‘Hi…’ she said very quietly.
‘Hi.’ he replied, bringing his head to her level. ‘What’s the matter?’
She stared at him for a while and suddenly noticed his pictogram. ‘Skokey… my brother.’

Author's Notes: *falls over* It's 5:30. AM. I had this half-done a few weeks ago. I just spent the last hour finishing it. Yes, the last hour. XD I seem to write better at strange hours.

Chapter 11

The sounds of chirping filled the air as birds called out to each other from the treetops. A breeze sent leaves twirling in mini tornadoes. One strayed from the group, landing on dark fur.

Groan.

The stag’s ear flicked away the annoying leaf, his eyes opening a second later.

“It’s about time.”

He squinted at the bright sunlight. ‘…wha..?’

Pink wings fluttered as the dragonfly landed on his Orca mask. “I’ve been waiting awhile for you to wake up.”

Scape let loose another groan as he slowly climbed to his feet. He shook his head to clear it the rest of the way. “What happened?”

The insect flitted into view, landing on his mask again. “Don’t you remember? You were sent back to your old home, to find your little brother and bring him to the Endless Forest, since he is unable to receive instructions like you were.”

Scape froze, staring at his surroundings.

The trees were more tightly packed together in this forest, with bushes dotting the ground in between – but that’s not why he froze.

Images were flashing through his head at an alarming rate, so fast he nearly felt dizzy.

“I remember…” he whispered.

The dragonfly twitched its head, gazing at gray eyes. “What?”

The stag refocused on the insect. “Everything just… I remember my fawn-hood.”

I see you ^^

My deer's colors were based on their personalities.

So yes. I do realize their colors make for a rainbow that matches an inverted rainbow is loveliness.

Human Creature hasn't let me out much, but for good reason. My heartbeat, I feel it when I walk alone in the forest. I hear it, and imagine things that only sister knows. Hangman spoke to us this morning of a Great Cliff, a mile high, and the Lemon Deer always ran towards it. The elder, the twisted, the hurt and the tainted Lemon Deer. It makes me shiver.

And I still hear the heartbeat, echoing in the depths of my knowing.

And I cower at the dropping of their fragile teardrops on the soil.

And I'm scared to death that I'm beginning to hope...

I have tamed my eyes to the sun now. I can smile truly now, I'm not certain why. I believe it is because of the tales that Hangman has been speaking.

He told me, in private...*holds his head low and whispers*...that the fae wasn't real; though he had no recollection of the story, and doesn't know what he's talking about, or who the fae is, now.

I'll rest my head to this tree tonight, knowing the Twin Gods shan't harm me for being what I am. Or...or, at least, for being a vampire.

My lady seems to have gifted me with her rhythm and rhyme, and for that, I am thankful. I can hum my sadness away in gentle time...

Not all sadness can be departed from my heart...but at least the ache is bearable...
