The Endless Forest 3.30 released with new feature “De Drinkplaats” -

De Drinkplaats

Download The Endless Forest here. It’s free. Like, for real, not as in “free to play”.

We have upgraded The Endless Forest engine and added a new feature to the game for the occasion of the exhibition Fantastic Illusions which opened in Kortrijk last week. It’s an exhibition of work by contemporary Belgian and Chinese media artists that explores the idea of immersion (there’s two games in it: The Endless Forest and Flower). The show ran in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Shanghai in September and can now be seen in the Broelmuseum in Kortrijk until February.

The Broelmuseum collection includes several paintings by 17th century Flemish painter Roelant Savery, many of them featuring animals very prominently. One painting, entitled “De Drinkplaats”, or “the watering hole”, served as the inspiration for the addition we made to The Endless Forest.

The Diary of Lemon, Nov 9

November 9

Days like these are the fortitude of my very existence. There are times when I can only question the reason I am here, when nothing about my life seems to fit together. Sometimes I feel like a puzzle with all of the wrong pieces. But days like today serve to remind me that my pieces fit together quite well...

I had found a place on the ancient ruin, perched demurely on a high rise of cold stone. The rain had been falling in torrents for nearly two days – a gift from the Gods. I have always been fond of rain, and of water. Needless to say, I was not about to go hiding in the forest, seeking shelter from the gentle caress of the rain. I was going to soak in the feel of the droplets against my skin for as long as I possibly could – and I was pleased to find that I was not the only one with this notion. I was in good company, in fact; for, though the forest was still and silent, the ruin was teeming with life. Deer lounged on the various levels of the ruin – one perched above me on one of the mossy arches, another rested against one of the stony graves. I could not tell how many others joined me – but to be in their silent company was well enough. The world was at peace, soothed to a sleepy tranquility by the careful touch of nature's hand. There was little more I could desire, in that moment.

::Ask of Me What You Will:: (Ask Myu...things >3)

Why in the hell did I decide to do this, despite the fact that RPing is not my forte?

Bleh, a combination of things I guess. I'm bored. I'm restless. I'm in the mood to write. And I'm curious as to how many people are actually gonna respond to this. *BRICK'D*

Basically, it's the same as everyone else. Just ask Myu anything you'd like; I'm not limiting the questions at all. And it doesn't matter whether or not she's met your deer; she'll answer to anyone. I prefer an RP-style, but you don't have to ask in such a fashion =) Also keep in mind that the responses might not be the greatest; I have very little faith in my writing, and depending on the question asked, it could be either as long as a sentence, or as long as over 9,000 paragraphs *SHOT for crappy joke xD;*

ANYWAYS.

So go ahead, dun be shy~! Ask away~! xD

Fly me to the Moon...(Break for me, oh yeah >3)

...and let me play amoungst the stars.

I'm SO glad the community is back up. I can FINALLY post this heads up.

Not that anyone's gonna care, but whatever. I'm in a good mood.

This coming Tuesday, I am going home for Thanksgiving break. There is no internet at my father's house. Which means Myu and I are going on a break from the Forest. Myu will still be in the Forest up to Monday night, I'm just giving a heads up.

I MIGHT be on at least once, depending on what my sister decides to do; I plan on going to her house this week, but we might end up going out instead of just sitting around the apartment with the doggies and bunneh >3

I will be returning to the campus and the Forest late Sunday afternoon.

Take care guys~! Be safe and happy while I'm gone~!

Love,
Brittany and Myu <3

Black Ear

HA and this is the first thing I post when the site comes back up. Well enjoy~

Black Ear

De Drinkplaats, a mystical new appearance in the Endless Forest. Deer from all around had flocked to this fountain in order to experience the new magic. It was a new place for deer to gather, for them to socialize. But deer weren't the only creatures to gather here. Animals of all kind came, doves, ravens, bats, frogs, squirrels, and rabbits.

The exquisite fountain lay atop a smooth, flat rock with a slight indent in the middle, where the water collected. The rock was surrounded by full, thick blueberry bushes, their fruits sweet and ripe in their endless season. Faint, sparkling lights arose from the mystical water, visibly showing that it had powers given by the Twin Gods. Around the area was a fairy ring, extremely large in circumference. Blue mist emitted from the large mushrooms, and it had the power to change the deer that entered the circle. The deer became basic, natural. Their magic spells and special pelts melted away, their masks disappearing, and their antlers becoming that of a true deer. This place was indeed filled with magic.

This place is my home. And this is not a story you will hear from the viewpoint of one of those deer. I am not one of them. I am not a spirit, nor a passer-by. I am but a simple rabbit, by the name of Black Ear. My name was given because of my obvious mark, my left ear which is darker than the rest of my body. All rabbits are named either for what their parents' first see or by any birthmark on their body. My mother's name was Willow Leaf, my father's Red Patch. My size is decent, though I may be large to some. And I have an ornament on my left ear, given to me by a strange goddess.
