Friend

I frolicked in the forest when I met a deer who adorned me with a beautiful rack of antlers. We gamboled through the endless trees, nibbling mushrooms and eating fallen pinecones laden with magic.

I bestowed him a warm marbled coat and sleek auburn horns and we danced together in triumph and gratitude.

In the circle of magical mushrooms where curious water flows endlessly, I became a dove while he, a raven. We circled each other, white and black feathers fluttering as the other deer lay in the shafts of sunlight, watching us with sleepy, soulful eyes.

We hailed each other in the graveyard ruins, playing kings and loyal subjects. He taught me to jump atop a broken pillar and made me a king as a deer with feathered antlers watch us curiously.

I fell off the pillar again, my dark hooves unaccustomed to the uneven unnaturalness of the marbled stone. Then I watched as he leapt gracefully onto the pillar once more, folding his legs and settling down comfortably.

He lowered his head against his flank, curling up and slowly closing his eyes.

And he started to fade.

I pawed the ground in alarm, shaking my antlers and jumping helplessly as I tried to scramble up the pillar. "Don't go!" I wanted to tell him. "Don't go just yet!"

Then in a gasp of dark smoke, he was gone.

I stared at the now empty pillar, shoulders hunched in sadness.

He was my first friend in the Eternal Forest.

We are deer.
We cannot speak.

Would I ever see him again..?
How would I know it is him?
(He has my face. I gave it to him)

But we deer, shed coats at the touch of another, crown each other with new antlers and gift new faces. The only sure way to know is by our names.

I wish I remembered the glowing symbol between his horns.

His namesake.

I made my way out of the ruins and towards the old oak, nestling down beneath its dark, humming hollow.

Searching for a player for a deer. |D;

Origionally I would've needed two players for two deer, but I may have found someone who'll take one up. The other though needs someone who isn't already swamped in OCs.
Due to the plot with Scythe, members of Darkweaver's family will be revived sometime around Halloween. Namely, Laghodessa, Adrastos, and Laoise.
Turns out, I need a player for Adrastos. <3

Let me know if you're interested. Also, I highly request if you take this character on, to use a gen 2 or earlier picto as I can't see the gen 3's.
Some character details:

Adrastos is Darkweaver and Laghodessa's second born and second son. He (like his siblings) were born outside the forest, and his birthplace in specific was somewhere in Russia. The bulk of the herd they were in were essentially exiles from the endless forest, who fled in search for a real god on the premise that the twin statues were idols of devils. Their herd had lived a nomadic life, traveling the entirity of europe and much of the 'old world'. He died the same day as his mother and younger sister Laoise, at the antlers of devout pelted 'zealots' after the herd one day returned to the forest in hope of being able to live in peace. (Or rather, deer many centuries ago who were devoted to the twin gods and saw Dark's old herd and family as demons needing to be destroyed. I'd provide a link to the entire backstory but I recall I never totally FINISHED writing it. XD;;;;;;;;.)

At the time, Adrastos was a fairly young stag, not fully grown up but not a fawn either. Laoise was a fawn. For the past several centuries Adrastos and Laoise have been traveling as ghosts, housed in their necromancer brother's antlers.

As far as personality goes, I've always seen him as being a somewhat snarkey individual, yet still having respect/loyalty to his family.

Crying Idol mask???

How does one get that mask?

Is it just through random spell casting, or a certain something?

Do you play a fawn?

Okay, time to spill the beans I guess!

My idea is, at a basic level, a herd for fawns. While originally my idea was that my Castallion was going to be the leader....I think it'd be more fun to not have an actual offical leader, rather a self-proclaimed title that others can ignore. It shouldn't be as organized as a herd- if you get sick of whatevers going on, just walk off.

But anyway. My idea is that this group of fawns are basically going to do everything they've been told not to, go wild and possibly make stags cry. This would involve rolling in mud and other smelly things, casting spells on unwary grown-ups(including shapeshifting spells), dog-piling grownups, pretend 'fights'(maybe an imitation of the rut without the actual real purpose involved?), challenging/mobbing adults, swarming areas or blocking them off....you get the idea. More suggestions are very welcome!

There should be two rules; disobey grown-ups, and stick together. But then again rules are made to be broken.

If this was to go ahead I think we'd need to treat it like an event; we'd need set times, maybe multiple so that everyone can come at different points. Or maybe just....see what happens.

I'd like to hear people's ideas/opinions/suggestions!

If you currently play an active fawn, please comment with their names/biography if they have one!

I just want to see how many are out there at the moment. I have an idea, and I think people are going to like it! lD

In which I don't know what I'm doing

Uh, hello *w*

I've been a member of TEF for a couple of months but haven't been brave enough to do anything but lurk around the forums until now. I didn't log in for quite a while because I was busy with other stuff but now I've really got back into it again.

Apologies...Kinda XD

I won't be able to spend as much time as I'd like in the forest as currently my college course requires a lot of my attention but also because I'm working on a book. It isn't anything really to do with the game so I'll refrain from posting excerpts of it here though it is set in a forest and although it is a war book I've found that wandering the forest does give me inspiration (I came up with the idea while in the forest!). The seed for wanting to write properly was planted by my uncle who suggested it a few months back and as I usually got good marks in junior and senior high for my stories I decided to take his advice and attempt to turn my idle daydreams into a proper story. So if I'm a little inactive at least you'll all know why. Smiling
