White Out ((Open Role Play))

Warning: There may be mature content here. ((Depending on the role playing posts)) This relates to language, subject matter, or violence.

Season: Winter
Time: Late evening, becoming dawn. The sky is slowly lighting up, but it will still be a while before the sun actually begins to rise.
Setting: The forest is covered in thick snow, everywhere. The pond is a serene mirror of ice. We'll start there.

I decided to make this role play due to the lag in the game. I got kicked out a few times. :'D Oh well. Let's have fun with these settings, shall we? As for the title, interpret it as you please. This may even help you write out your response.

I will be using my main character, Sabel.
Now let us see what type of tale we can spin.

-

The moon and stars were hardly visible, a soft pale hue painting the sky. It was a few hours away from dawn- the gentle purples and blacks becoming soft blues and grays. Dancing flakes of white were quietly falling and blanketing the world of pine needles and dead leaves below, the trees bare. And nearby, a lone figure was jumping around rather fondly on top of a very thick sheet of ice. Laughter echoed with the loud clack of hooves upon the frozen pond, filling the air. Yet these were the only sounds available. No twittering of birds, no soft chirping of crickets or other bugs. The world seemed mute. However, the dark blue and white creature leaping around on the ice appeared oblivious to it.

A large elk-like being came from the darkness of the tree line, his eyes an icy blue in what little light the late-night sky offered. He ducked his head down to avoid getting his tine tangled in the frozen branches. However, a tine hit with a crack that lightly echoed out towards the lake. Snow fell from the vibrating branch onto his head. Tochza snorted in agitation, shaking his head hard to rid himself of the clumps that clung to his long winter fur. The stag continued forward, stopping mid-way between the pond and the trees, to watch the figure out on the ice. He was rather impressed as she seemed so happy without a care in the world, her laughs and giggles lingering in his ear.

Hearing a loud echoing clack in the distance, the happy doe continued to tremble with laughter as she skidded around on the ice, stopping and spinning in a circle. Dizzy and a little disoriented, she came to a stop and stood perfectly still, her long neck stretching a bit as she glanced around with her eyes perceptively. 'It's so nice to hear something besides myself. I wonder what it could be?' A soft smile etched its was onto her face as she recognized it, the echo dying and fading away within the white forest. 'Antlers. Bone. Something full grown...' She mentally noted. The doe's long white tail was swishing carefully along the ice, making a wing n the snow that had fallen onto it. It didn't take very long for her silver-grey eyes to rest upon a large buck, who appeared to have been there for a while. Her smile widened into a grin as Sabel quickly began trotting the stranger's way.

He hasn't been in the forest yet. Just waiting for his picto to grow up before doing that. I want him to start already an adult. Still a work in progress. My husband thought about coming here to take him over, but I already told him this guy is mine, haha. He might join eventually.

He didn't smile back, as it was difficult for anything to make him smile. He watched with soft eyes as the uni-doe approached him. He could sense the magical blood in her veins, not unlike himself. A unicorn with no horn? No, a halfbreed, like himself. Internally amused at finding another similar to himself in this strange wood. Tochza stepped forward once she came close enough, bowing down on one knee with his antler nearly touching the snow before standing upright again. "Greetings, miss. I hope I didn't disturb you any. You looked like you were quite enjoying yourself." His voice was mature and a little on the deep side, but not quite baritone. It was smooth and flowed well, warm with kindness. His cool eyes contradicted his tone just slightly.

Curiously, Sabel allowed her eyes to roam over the stranger before meeting his eyes. He had a very []unique[/i] fur pattern. It almost looked like something a butterfly would have- something to create an illusion. His stoic nature stood out, as she had recently been meeting less closed off deer. Less reserved. And he was exactly that, from his posture and his lack of- or hidden- expression. This was familiar. knelt forward in a bow, returning his greeting and keeping eye contact. Her ears pricked up at the sound of his voice. It was warmer than his steely gaze, which reflected a contradiction in the way he was expressing himself. Deception? This too was familiar. It could sometimes make another's emotions and thoughts unreadable. Yes. Very deceptive; reserved.

The doe stood back up, thumping her tail in the snow playfully as she allowed her eyes and smile to soften a bit. "Fun, yes- and even more fun with company. And to know that it is real." she replied cooly, comfortably sitting in front of this stranger. "But it is also a good idea to know who I am in company with. I am Sabel- who are you?"

He quirked an eyebrow at her

He quirked an eyebrow at her statement. And to know it's real? What? Everything is real. At least in his mind. Facts. Yes. Still, he also took a seat where he stood, letting his guard down just a touch and to show he wasn't a threat. "Tochza. I guess you could say I'm new in these parts. You are the first I've spoken to here." He lets his eyes wander over her lovely coat before turning a cautious eye to the dark deep in the woods. He knew he wasn't usually very approachable, but he was working on it. A bit socially awkward, perhaps. He turns his gaze back to her. "But it is nice to meet a friendly here." his gaze then turns to the ice, looking over her tracks left in the snow. He didn't understand the concept of fun. It was a very foreign feeling to him. "You say sliding on the ice is... fun?"

A solitary shape nervously picked its way amidst the brush and fading light, stopping every now and then as if to listen to the forest around them. The young stag hastily darted from shadow to shadow, trying to make his way to the stream that fed the Pond, his dark blue fur helping him blend in with the evening hues.

Atiq had been hiding away almost all day, the forest was abuzz with the Twin Gods' antics, changing the weather seemingly from moment to moment, and all the Forest's residents were rejoicing.

Atiq wanted none of it.

He had been on edge for quite some time, and all he needed now was for party-goers to revel about him. Atiq gently shook a creeping chill off his shoulder, causing the light to catch his gold markings.
Golden eyes pierced the twilight, looking for the bridge that marked the mouth of the stream. After spotting it, he sighed in relief and began an easier going trot towards it.

I can't remember the last time I had a drink...

Nearing the bank, Atiq's ears twitched towards the Pond, picking up the sounds of someone still hanging around after the impromptu festivities. He noted a dark blue and white shape frolicking around the fresh sheet of ice on the water-"Wait a minute...ice?!"

Atiq carefully slid down to the stream only to find that sure enough, the water had frozen there too. "Ah...damn. Well, there's no way I am going to lick it and get myself stuck there, perhaps I can break it..."

Atiq reared up a little, ready to drive his hooves into the ice.

Unfortunately, he misjudged the thickness of the ice and the strength in his legs.

When his hooves struck the frozen stream they slipped out from under him, his momentum carrying the rest of him down to the ice as he continued to slide downstream to the Pond...

Something honest came out of

Something honest came out of his expression. Curiosity. Perhaps if she piqued his interest enough, she might get him to open up more. He seemed like he needed it. "Nice to meet you Tochza. Welcome to the forest!" the doe greet rather ecstatically. Her eyes followed the movement of his head and face, as his attention was shifting. "It's quite enjoyable- especially with someone else." she explained, standing up yet again. She shook out her body, removing loose snow and drying off a bit. "And it keeps you warm!" she laughed, prancing in a circle around the buck before sprinting back to the pond. She glanced back, grinning. "Come along now, I'm sure you'll like it!"

As she came to the bank of the pond and leapt into the air, a figure went sliding on the ice under her. She landed with perfect balance, skidding to a halt and watching the other deer slide across the pond with amusement. Pushing off, she began skating to him and used a hoof to gently guide him and slow his speed. Bother of them came to a thicker part of the bank, just barely sliding enough to touch it. "Hello!"

His attention returned to her

His attention returned to her as she spoke, a look of confusion and curiosity evident on his features. He stood when she did, also shaking out the bits of snow, taking a quick moment to look at the now-bare spot his heated body had created. His eyes then went back to her, head turning one way then the other as he followed her track around him and out towards the pond. He hesitated at her invitation, then let out a soft sigh and stepped forward. May as well try to appease her. She seemed nice enough, and he needed practice being nice in return. According to the Gods, anyway. He stepped up to the edge, head held high as he glanced down at the frozen water. He knew the first several feet would be solid to the ground. But out in the deep...? "Are you sure this is safe? My weight won't crack a hole?" He was very unsure. possibly afraid? He wasn't quite sure how he felt about the act. He looked to her tracks again. She had been all over and not a single bit was broken. Then again, she was much lighter than himself.

Atiq's not-so-graceful flight

Atiq's not-so-graceful flight across the ice was brought to a gentle halt at the other edge of the Pond. He heard his giggling savior giggle a greeting to him as he began to struggle to get his feet under him. He groaned, the fall on the ice had aggravated his bum right shoulder a bit, but he tried to shrug it off as he looked up at the doe.
" mmmppf-Hello there, miss."

Gently, Sabel used her tail to help prop the stranger up by snaking it under the stags belly and hooking it around him, carefully lifting him up so he could get his footing. Though, he was a tad bit heavy for his size. "Well, you are certainly welcome." the doe chuckled, her voice coming out in a soft coo. Glancing back at her other companion, she gave him a confident smile and tapped the ice with a hoof. "It's rather thick and solid. But if you truly feel wary, calmly step onto it and test what it can handle." she called over.

Tochza looked over to the other stranger as he slid. Clumsy. He rolled his eyes, stepping out onto the shallow part of the ice. He was willing to look a fool for her when they were alone, but not now that another male is in the area. He held his high posture even moreso than before, trying to make it look easy to walk on the ice. His footing was very careful. Letting her have her time with the other male, Tochza tried to understand how walking on ice was fun? Of course, he wouldn't let his hoof slip even a bit. A sign of weakness in his eyes. But even as he mulled this ice thing over, he kept an eye on the doe to make sure this new stranger wasn't a threat to her. Being that clumsy though, he hardly seemed a threat.

Those dark eyes of hers continued to follow Tochza as he stepped onto the ice, noticing his posture changing. Hiding. Fear. Pride. His change in demeanor was noted, though she kept her expression the same. Her smiling features glanced down at the smaller stranger who now stood beside her, having gained his footing. "Sabel is my name. I'm glad to have more company around here." she replied, releasing him. She pushed off from the bank, moving foreward rapidly as she spun around and around. "Wheeeeee!" the doe cried, flinging past Tochza. Her tail latched onto his side, causing him to slide along with her. "No need to be so uptight! Have a little fun~" she giggled, knowing full well he probably didn't want to be taken out of his calm stature. "Surely you don't fear humor?"

"Whoah!" Tochza cried out as she slid him along with her, his legs spreading a bit for stability and his hooves splaying for traction, but finding very little. Much like Bambi on the ice, but as a full-grown adult. His expression stayed surprised, fighting to keep some control over the fear creeping up his spine. The hairs on his back bristle slightly. He wanted to back off, to fight out of her tail's grasp and get back to solid land. But no, that would be cowardly. Only the weak would turn tail and run over something as simple as sliding on ice. As they got over the deeper end, he heard the ice creaking under his weight. No breaking though. He gave an inward sigh of relief. It's thick enough, if only just barely. He watched her as she pulled him along, seeing her joyous expression. Is that what fun is? Tochza slowly attempted a smile, showing omnivorous teeth with slightly elongated fangs. Looked a bit more like a snarl than a smile, but he was trying for her sake. "I umm...I'm really not used to this kind of thing."

As she did so, she slowly released her hold on Tochza and allowed him to slowly slide over to the other stag, who appeared to have a small smile forming on his features. The smile on Tochza was... well, charming. It seemed new to him. One is not quite so reserved... Sabel thought to herself, skating over towards the pair and coming to a halt. She thumped Tochza on the back with her tail in a playful manner, giggling. "That wasn't so bad, now was it?" she asked, prancing in place.

Atiq blinked at Sabel's question. "Aaaah apologies. It's Farsi, my native tongue. Sometimes I fall back into speaking it." He looked slightly sheepish, then glanced back up at Tochza, "It's a polite greeting,", he said, attempting his warmest smile.

Sabel's surprise reverted back to that rather calm, warming smile that she seemed to constantly wear. He was rather amusing with the way he reacted. "You've nothing to apologize for. As for your 'native' tongue, it sounds rather lovely. Does anyone else speak it?" she asked softly, walking on the ice with a slower and much less energetic rhythm. How curious. He was probably from a land outside of the forest. At least, that is what it seemed like. Who knows how many languages had been added here while she'd been 'gone'.

Her eyes flitted back between Tochza and Atiq, carefully surveying how they were viewing one another. Her hoof steps made quiet, eerie clacks on the ice within the short silence that had been created within the conversation. She took a seat in the snow beside the two, watching the ice rather carefully.

Tochza nodded at the foreigner. Then again, he, himself, could be considered one. No threat. Toch got off the ice, sitting on the edge of the bank close enough to still be considered part of the group. "Your accent is one I haven't heard before. I actually like it." He tried making a compliment. Be polite. Practice practice practice."

Atiq felt a little taken aback by the sudden spotlight put on him, after so long spent in hiding it felt quite odd. Yet it wasn't a bad kind of odd, really, he decided. For me it's just been something that I've always known..."

Tochza seemed to be distancing himself for a bit. How unfortunate. But then again, he didn't seem entirely open to being social. 'I feel the need to remedy this.' Sabel thought, giving him a slight nod of acknowledgement. Her full attention was on Atiq now, with her silver-gray eyes perceiving his trembling as unease. She chuckled at his response. "Perhaps you may find someone who knows it as well. Lately I have seen many who come form outside of this forest arriving here. Some of them do not even know from where they came, or how they arrived. All they know is they were not here to begin with." she began explaining, giving some light into her prior curiosities. As they continued to converse, the snow began to fall in heavier amounts. Not the type that would come from a storm or a blizzard- such things were usually foreign to the forest, lest the gods be angry or something disturbed its balance. It only seemed to be forming a thicker blanket, shrouding the pond and the three deer from the rest of the world. it was like.... a bubble.

"I was born here... and recently have become interested in the outside world. Away from the forest." she explained nonchalantly, swishing her tail trough the snow and clearing it away from the ice, which was becoming harder to see under it. "Do you know how you entered?"

Tochza sat and simply

Tochza sat and simply listened quietly, keeping watch for... well... anything. But all he could see now was snow and darkness. even the little bit of light in the opening of the pond was shrouded in darkness. It made him uneasy. It was too quiet. He tried not to think too much of it, keeping an ear on the conversation. When she asked about how the stranger got there, he started thinking about his answer. What he would tell them, against the truth. If he were to have any chance here, no one must know of his pre-forest life. If you could even call it a life.

Atiq watched as Tochza

Atiq watched as Tochza settled himself into comfortable observation, and tilted his ear to catch Sabel's words. As he listened he shivered once again, a little harder. He noted the heavier snowfall and internally grumbled a little, but was brought back to the present with Sabel's question.

"Ah I'm afraid I do not. I have no memory outside of this forest, I just...woke up here one day, just as I am. I'm just like many others that end up here, as I've come to find out. It makes me wonder a bit if this Forest is more than it seems..." Atiq trailed off a bit as he looked out at the snow.

Aware of Tochza's lack of an

Aware of Tochza's lack of an answer, Sabel felt little surprise at this, though she had hoped for something. Deception was what he held himself with, and thus he would not so easily give away anything. She wondered if she had anything that she held so closely as well. Perhaps not... not that she could remember. Her eyes flickered away from him towards Atiq, the soft barely audible sound of his reaction to the cold drawing her attention. Perhaps it was because she moved around often or had thicker fur- despite how thin it might look- but she found the cold enjoyable and hardly ever bitter. Only during storms of rain, hail, and ice did she ever truly waver. Carefully, the doe stood up and quietly walked over to where the stag sat, earnestly listening to him. Sabel sat beside Atiq, lightly allowing her tail to gently fall upon his shoulders to halt his shivering. "I see... you are very similar to someone I met recently. they too have a lack of memory for how they came here. But they did mention they came from a world of sand and hot weather!" she giggled, comfortably allowing her eyes to drift towards the snow falling above them. It had returned to its hazey lightness, and almost seemed as if it would stop after a while. But that was still a long way up. the sky had also taken on a very light purple shade, with the tiniest sliver of orange peeking above the ground. Not enough to highlight anything, but enough to make the color change noticeable. Dawn was approaching. Sabel's chuckling died down a bit and she batted at the air playfully, trying to catch some of the flakes with her outstretched forehooves. "It is a happy dream, for you and I. No sorrow or loss or memory. But should you want for that memory, that will be your only loneliness." she laughed, treating it as a little joke. Yet her words held some truth. For the moment, she paused with her forehooves in the air, standing on her hind legs. She was contemplating remembering. Yet when she did this, nothing came. And thus the deericorn stared off into space, leaving a strange silence to follow that little monologue.

"Memories are a very powerful thing. Sometimes, it is better to not remember. Sometimes, one regrets remembering something they wanted to forget. Only good memories are worth keeping in order to keep one sane." He tried to hide a small sigh. "I will openly tell you that I do not come from a place of good. My home was...dark. This forest is so peaceful and good. I don't want to taint it." He looks back down at the ice, their tracks from earlier now well covered. Lumps could still be seen where the snow hadn't been disturbed.

Atiq continued his survey of the eerily silent Forest around them, mostly out of habit, while still keeping one ear intent on the others as they talked. Seemingly satisfied with finding absolutely nothing amidst the trees, he turned back towards the doe and the larger buck.
"This place is indeed quite peaceful, and so full of memory itself it's almost tangible. No matter if you came here carrying your own memories or none at all, the Forest soon replaces them. Whatever past there may have been, under these trees it no longer matters, only the moment you are in does. I've been here a long, long, time...I would know." Atiq flashed another warm smile their way, before shaking himself as if to rid himself of the sudden somber mood. It was too cold for wistful nostalgia and philosophy.

"I wish the sun would hurry up and rise, the night is too cold for my tastes." As the dark stag sent a glare towards the stubbornly falling snow he paused, "Is...is it just me, or was the snowfall not lighter just a little earlier?" Atiq frowned at the sky.

OOC: I see o: Well, the mind can certainly be a battleground. Sometimes even coming up with one word out of many will put you on a stand still. I find it enjoyable to just... sit back and let things sit for a few hours. Then I can think freely.

Leaning back down and standing properly on her hooves, Sabel nodded. "The weather is fickle today. I like it though. Never stays the same for too long." the doe replied, meandering over to pace between the two stags. "Good or bad, you came from somewhere. And with what lurks in the forest already, you would be surprised to find little can ever taint it." she explained, using her tail to splash snow back onto the icy pond. She pranced in place, making soft crunching noises in the snow as her mind returned to a recent event. "You'll notice that strangely, through the peace there are still predators. Preying on little fawns and others. Some of the strangers lurking here are bigger than anything I've ever seen!" she said in an elated voice, as if still in wonder about such a thing. "Giant crows and bunnies.... all sorts of strange things! Even giant deer with wings!"

As she continued to describe other inhabitants of the forest, the doe casually wandered back onto the ice and began heading for where it broke off into the stream produced from the Crying Idol. "Forgive me, but staying still does not seem to be agreeable today. Move along with me if you like; but I'm far too energetic to lay or sit." she called back, quickening her pace as she began to near the bridge.

Tochza turned her words

Tochza turned her words around in his head, pondering on them as he rose to his hooves and casually followed after her. He didn't bother shaking the thin layer of snow off his coat. It would just pile up again. If her words were true - and he had no reason to doubt the other - then perhaps living here would be easier than first thought. Plenty of opportunity to stay on the good side of his nature, to make sure he disobeys his father and stay here rather than to go back 'home'. "I don't mind moving about. It keeps the body warm in this cold air." He wasn't used to even mild cold, but his body adapted well to it anyway. Toch looked back, making sure not to leave the smaller male behind too far.
phantomhelsing's picture

Atiq warily watched Sabel

Atiq warily watched Sabel happily skate off across the ice. He wasn't against fun and frolic, far from it. Him and winter weather, and all that entailed, just were not the greatest of friends. His normally deft and graceful feet lost all dexterity on the slick ground, and he was not looking forward to a repeat of earlier. But it was so cold, and he very much wanted to warm his chilled body. Besides, he couldn't leave the other two deer hanging, he was actually enjoying the company.

As Sabel continued her dancing and gliding across the ice, Atiq noted the larger stag patiently waiting for him to follow. He attempted placing one tentative hoof to the frozen pond, and while slippery, he braved putting the rest of his feet onto the ice.

"It's not that I am against moving around, it's just ah...I'm not the best....with all of this iiiiiiiiicccccccccccceeeeeeeeeee" Atiq's last word crescendoed into a mixture of a squeak and a hiss as he found himself beginning to slip on the ice. He ceased trying to move his legs and just allowed the little momentum he'd gained glide him comically slowly past Tochza and further onto the pond.

Sabel hid very few of her

Sabel hid very few of her giggles as she watched the unsteady, smaller blue stag go sliding past Tochza. Oh, how silly he was. She carefully slowed herself, allowing the stag to catch up to her and slide beside her. She began correcting his posture, using his tail to allow him to keep his balance. She rested it on his back, using a hoof to straighten his neck so his head was held higher. "Relax a little, timid one. Think of it like standing still or walking. Better yet, learning to walk as a fawn... you slowly find your center of balance by putting your hooves in the right places." She explained, her eyes and focus completely on the little one. She flicked her ears, signalling Tochza to follow them. The pair glided under the bridge, and began going along the ice at a slower pace towards the Crying Idol.

Tochza kept a steady pace

Tochza kept a steady pace once the younger stag passed him, staying close in case he should go crashing again. Sabel seemed to have it in hand, and so he left the ice at the creek opening, following beside them from up on the bank ridge. He keps his gaze down on them to make sure they were both okay, eyes only leaving them to scan the tree line for any other beings. The snow was almost too thick to see that far.

Atiq was again rescued by

Atiq was again rescued by Sabel the Safety Net, as she corralled him to her side once more and tried to instruct him on proper ice-related maneuvering. He allowed her to adjust his posture and his footing, too nervous to move himself, anyways. He put her instructions into careful execution, and ever so carefully followed her up the frozen stream. Atiq put most of his concentration on his hooves, only slipping a little now, but twitched his ears towards Tochza's vantage up on the bank, just keeping mental note where everyone was, and grateful for the vigilant watcher.

"Alright, so perhaps I'm not quite as awful at this as I thought," Atiq chuckled a little.

As soon as Atiq had his own

As soon as Atiq had his own Footing, Sabel quietly moved away from him to allow him to skate freely. They were just about to meet the Crying Idol anyhow. "It's not that you were ever 'bad'. but that you had never tried to be 'good'." she replied with a cheeky grin, hopping off of the ice and onto the snowy ridges of the narrowing stream, watching the little blue stag with great amusement as he continued on his merry way. It was a delight, with his little antics. Not that his clumsiness was unfamiliar, no; she had seen it before. but rather, she still had a hard time figuring out how to handle it. Her gaze traveled to look upon Tochza, who now confidently strode alongside the skating stag. An involuntary giggle escaped her, thinking about the fact he'd avoided staying on the ice very long. Clever.

Walking over to the Crying Idol, she waited for Atiq and curiously poked at the frozen water protruding from its eyeholes. Her forehooves clinked against it, and upon closer inspection she could see that water was still moving under the frozen surface- keeping the pond supplied. Glancing at Atiq, a mischievous grin fell upon her features while he drew nearer and nearer. But she knew better. they were not as used to the cold as she was, and it could harm them- the water, if they were wet for too long. she had seen this before. However, she questioned what had drawn Atiq here. She had assumed Tochza was passing by. Was it the same with him? "Might I ask why you came to the pond, despite the fact that it is now ice?" she asked curiously. Her question was directed at both of them, despite her assumptions.

Tochza circled around the

Tochza circled around the back of the stone, then settled on the opposite side he had been walking, looking down onto the two of them as he tucked his hooves under him to keep them warm. His antler was close enough to knock down the ice from the eyes to free the water. He seemed to pick up on what she was thinking.

"I was just walking around. This is my first time to this area. So far I've been to the spring in the birch, then found the huge slabs of rock, and now here." His answer was simple, and his tone soft to not pierce the silent snow too sharply.

Atiq was now confidently

Atiq was now confidently traversing the ice as he followed the other deer. He looked up as Tochza reached the other side of the Crying Idol as he eyed the frozen streams falling from it. He turned his gaze back to Sabel and her inquiry.

"Well I-uh...I was just out for a wander," he began, "but when I got here, I realized I could really use a drink. Everywhere else was frozen solid, and I was not quite desperate enough to just lick the ice..." Atiq nervously chuckled.

Noting Tochza's body

Noting Tochza's body language, she decided to put her mischief to good use. Quickly, she moved on the snow beside Atiq and used her tail to lift him up. He was a little heavy, but not enough to cause her to slip and fall. She put him down on the bank next to Tochza before circling around the Crying Idol, rearing on her hind legs, and slamming her forehooves into one of the frozen streams of tears in the Idol's eyes. The ice was thinner than that of the pond, and thus easier to break. As the ice shattered, water spilled out over the frozen stream, lacing it thinly and continuing to travel under it as well. "Easily fixed- but I wouldn't advise getting wet!" the doe laughed, leaning down a little to gt a taste for herself. She hadn't realized how thirsty she had been until the water touched her tongue. Withdrawing, she stood on her hind legs examining her forelegs. Wet from the ice shattering, but that was expected. Leaning back down onto her forelegs, she knelt and began rubbing them vigorously within the powdered layer atop the thick snow to attempt to dry them off. Even if she was not bothered by the cold, anything frozen could become a problem later on.

"Atiq and Tochza..." she said rather absentmindedly as she walked through the snow, back and forth- pacing. "I hope these names remain in my mind. It would be a shame to forget..." she mumbled, pouting a little. But her rather carefree grin easily returned as she started hopping in the snow, disturbing it and looking for any lively grass underneath.

(I'm falling asleep,

(I'm falling asleep, lol)

Tochza simply watched, the water forming a new layer of thin ice on top of the sheet already there, the rest of it flowing on before it could freeze. Probably won't take long. He watched Sabel pacing about again, amazed at how much energy she has in this cold. She really was an impressive being. He could learn a lot from her. Perhaps. "Well, miss Sabel, if you see enough of us, perhaps our names will start sticking to memory. I never expect anyone to remember after only one meeting."

(then you should take a break

(then you should take a break for the night Eye)

Atiq couldn't help the chuckle that escaped his throat as he watched the smaller doe break loose the ice from the Idol, sending a stream of fresh, ice cold water to the frozen stream below. With a satisfied sight, he bent to sate his thirst, feeling the cold water surge through his system, giving him a little more energy. When he was finished, he turned his gaze upwards, towards the open space next to Tochza, momentarily gauging the height. Keeping in mind the tips Sabel had given to him, he readjusted his footing, so the jump would be as easy for him as it was when the ground was not so slick with ice. Then Atiq sprang out of the ditch and onto the snowy bank in a single, graceful leap, his new-found energy returning the deftness to his muscles.

"It'd also be quite hard to forget us if we do not leave, the Forest is not that large," he grinned as he gently shook some ice and water from his hooves.

Sabel softly smiled at the two of them as Atiq joined Tochza on his side of the bank. They were so young in her eyes. And this caused a dreadful, sweeping feeling to over come her. Sadness. She did not allow it to linger within her eyes, nor to diminish her smile. But her body trembled a little, and she wrapped her tail around her hooves to keep still. She did not want to forget them. They were so playful and open... save for Tochza. And they didn't mind her own playfulness either. "Many things can happen in so little time. Many things can.... not happen... at all." she replied quietly, chuckling a bit at the sentiment. Her laughter was warm, gentle. But she felt as if this warmth might slip away at any moment. The doe cantered over to their side of the Idol and pranced in circles near the two of them, keeping herself from being still. "But it is best to avoid dwelling on what makes your heart ache. So let's get moving!" Sabel called nonchalantly, taking their lack of movement as an opportunity. Rather playfully, she swung her hips and used her tail to send mounds of snow flying at the two of them. Sticking out her tongue, she immediately darted away towards the trees- heading for the blue bowl of flowers that would now be a bowl of snow. Not that they would be able to tell.

Tochza could tell there was

Tochza could tell there was much more on her mind than she was letting on. He figured he would wait, and see if he could get her to open up to him if they ever got the chance to be alone. When she swept the snow onto them, he simply turned his head down and shut his eyes tight, as if she were brushing pebbles at them. He then stood, shaking off the snow in a big white cloud, then bounded after her. Part of him was concerned she was running into a dark forest without concern of what may be lurking in the shadows. Then again, he had always needed to be careful before this place. It was in his nature to be cautious. His form, though heavy, seemed actually quite light in his fast movements. It was only in appearance though. He made it look easy. It didn't take long before his antler got stuck in some low branches. "Fuck" he said under his breath, twisting and pulling and trying to shake it free. When he realized it was of no use, and the tree was too thick and healthy to break, he sighed. A thick cloud of iced breath puffed out from his snorting nose. 'Well isn't THIS great. I chase after a doe and look where it gets me.' Tochza is not amused.
