For fun and to keep myself on track with this work-in-progress. Expect slow progress, as I will be doing this between work and school. I am estimating no fewer than 10 hours once sewing begins, as I do not have a machine (but I do have two cats who enjoy playing with thread).

Pattern
-Design the pattern (done - heavily modified version of the free pattern found here)
-Cut out (done)
-Trace onto fabric (done)
-Cut fabric (done)

Sewing
-Markings (4/4 legs, 2/2 masks, 0/1 wings) (Wings cannot be sewn on until body is finished)
-Body (in progress - 1, 2, 3)
--Head (done - 1, 2, 3)
--Antlers (Left 1, 2, 3 - Both painted 1, 2) Unfortunately, the modeling clay is more fragile than I anticipated. I lost the antlers in the process of turning the pattern right-side-in. I MIGHT be able to save one, but the other is severely cracked and damaged. One or both will most likely have to be re-built from scratch.
Antler Update: Moderate success in repairing bothp antlers.

First order 'o business:
For those who've tried to interact with my fawn and it failed spectacularly- This is my picto(my fawn doesn't have a name or personality yet so its just kinda prancing around til its an adult). My laptop lags sometimes and isn't too quick on the uptake of "hit action button, make action happen." I'll press the same key dozens of times before something finally happens. So if you run into me and I just stand there and do nothing, that's why xD I don't hate you, but my computer does.


Second:
I'm sick and stuck in the house for the next few days. I've been going through my favorites on youtube and running through my media players all day, because I've read every book in the house and for as awesome as Doctor Who and Criminal Minds are, everything kind of becomes a blur after several hours. Having something new to listen to would be nice, so send me your awesome tunes, people! This will kind of be a music-sharing post for everyone.


A few things I've had on loop throughout the day...

Please note, this topic talks a lot about religion and my views. I want this topic to shed some light on a rising issue I have been noticing - religious intolerance. This is in no way an attack on anyone or any religion or denomination. Please understand I am only trying to help.

Yesterday I was a pall bearer for a funeral. It was for a boss of my mom's when she was 16, and she was a very nice lady named Helen who lived until her 90's. She died of pneumonia.

The funeral was at a Lutheran church. I'm Catholic but open-minded when it comes to other denominations and even other religions. I actively practice Buddhism and have a lot of respect for most other denominations of Christians as well as Hindus, Wiccans, Muslims, and most other religions. There are very few that I do not like.

Anyway, I've decided that whenever I have to do something like this where it's at a church other than my own and they offer communion, I have decided to take it without any remorse. I believe that I am worshiping God regardless of denomination. I know this will seem like a shock to some, but it's my view on it. I was very, very surprised at how similar the Lutheran service was to my own Catholic mass. I've been to a Baptist service but it was very different than I am accustomed to.

So after attending to the funeral, I have decided to be an advocate for religious understanding and tolerance. I don't like using the word 'tolerance' because it sounds like I'm saying there's something wrong with other religions or denominations of Christianity. This is what I really mean by all of this:

As Christians we are taught to practice unconditional love. However, I'm starting to notice that some denominations of Christianity express ignorance and hatred toward other denominations and other religions. I can explain this based on my own experiences from going to a Catholic high school - one of my teachers told us that Buddhists worship Buddha.
