How do you insert your deer's pictogram in to your writing?

I would like my Setless's name to be just his pictogram. I would also like to be able to insert it in to my writing as such, not just a link but the actual little pictogram. I've seen it before and wonder how you do it?

Example (Pictogram replaced by an asterisk*)

* woke up this morning, and stretched. He peered around and looked for his friends. "*!" Exclaimed his friend, trotting over. "You're a sleepyhead, *! Get up and come play with us!"

Deer surrounded me. Forest Deer.

Solidly, my Iphea was at my back, curled protectively close.
Mi, my developmental doe, was in front of my lower-legs, warming my feet.
Unduetu was curled in the crook of my legs.
The Setless was wary, but he lay close, forehead nearly touching mine if it were not for his antlers.

Sadly, there was room for one more. Only he was not in my bed last night, but in his own, in his room, and my characters knew that. They kept me company all night so that I did not think of my bed as being big and lonely without my Fiance. I have slept in his bed for the past near-week because I have been having trouble sleeping.

I guess sometimes your characters can comfort you in odd ways. Maybe it was my half-conscious state, a dream in there, but it was so worth it.

I've been researching this as much as possible, and I'd like to know what all of your spirit animals are (if youve found them) and how you found them. Maybe a story? I'm trying to find mine, and I just can't clear my mind; empty it of all the stress of school life. Maybe these might help.

I feel as if I can never KEEP a character. I want to only have 2 characters, one Doe and one Buck. I love Unduetu as well, but I am on the fence with her.

I hate that my ideas just COME OUT in to characters that only stay for one or two days before dying again. It's hard to keep from making so many of them. I think on this site I have made around 30 and only ever kept a couple for more than a month. Yeah, I have a buttload of pictograms at my disposal.

Well, to get this to the point:

I really have been trying very hard to develop a doe character. I really want one. I want one that will stick and stay, and I have been trying so hard to develop someone beautiful and natural in appearance. Someone that I want to draw as much as I want to draw Iphea. The does I have made in the past keep trying to mesh, but that only gives me a headache and a heartache that they can't make someone for me.

Otherwise, I wish I could just play a deer with no set, but I am worried people won't realize I am not a newbie and will try to spam me like they used to when I played my "just pelted" deer. -.- I really like the naked pelt. It seems natural and beautiful.

Oh I have no courage... >.< Doe or Setless? Both? I can deal with three characters. In fact, that would be more than perfectly fine with me to have three.

But should I just scrap Unduetu like the rest? She's beginning to get some publicity... I know you aren't supposed to play characters you don't love, though.... -.- I am at such a loss. Any advice from anyone? /smallwalloftext

I was just writing something that suddenly made me curious enough to ask this question (and as the Halloween season is coming soon, it seems relevant): do any of your characters have an IC response to the Big Zombie Deer? Does his (or her?) presence in the Forest mean anything to them? How do they view the BZD?

Just blatantly curious.

I would love to hear your responses (and if this will be your first Halloween in the Forest, feel free to say how your characters might react to the BZD when they see him).
