Little literature; Make a fairy tale!

Hello everyone c: I thought since this is a fantasy game, perhaps we could all write together to make fairy tales? I'd love to see what everyone can come up with. No, it doesn't have to be forest related. ((it can be, no shame in that)) I would also love it if we could keep them… simple and short. But yoou can still include as much detail and write for as long as you'd like. You can even continue someone else's story with a sequel or somewhat- keep things going. The only rule I have is that if you are to critique someone, please be constructive- as much as you give pros and cons, also give advice. And well, be kind to one another c: have fun! Here's one to start us off;

Title; A Fair Replacement

Once there was a beautiful princess, who was often pampered and got what she wanted whenever she asked for it. She was adored by her people and no one wanted her in a foul mood. Even when she threw a fit or cried she would get her way. However, one day a chambermaid was busy cleaning her room when the king said,
"You do not act like a princess. No, you act like a child." And thus, the chamber maid was brought forth. "If this chamber maiden can out perform you in your duties, you will lose right to be my daughter and the heiress to my throne."
And so it began. The chamber maiden was given a room of her own, had servants to tend to her, and was given fine clothes to dress in. The Princess was insulted by this gesture- how dare her father, the king, say she was not a princess! She would prove him wrong, and make that chamber maiden pay for even thinking she could out do her!

The chamber maiden appeared to be much kinder however, and did not complain if her duties were too much to be carried out or if she had issues with her clothes or room arrangements. Rather, she was focused on treating others kindly, and dealing with better arranging how things were done in the kingdom. Eventually she came to be much more adored than the real princess.

Somebody Loves You:.:.

Here's Odu and Tan's reunion finally!
With this, I planned to expose Oduvanchik.
You'll either love him or hate him.
Please tell me what you think!

I really like this story. I don't think I could draw any of these scenes very good. I wanted it to be a comic, but I'm afraid I wouldn't do it justice. I might try it later if I'm feeling particularly brave.

Seed's Poetry Corner: Carnival Dance

I was born, 6 years ago, not long after a Carnival much like this, and with confetti in the air...How nostalgic.

I'm not normally the sort of person to write a poem like this, but...Well. Perhaps just this once.

Carnival Dance

The blissful blizzard of color falls,
like brightly-colored fawnhood days;
swirling in a festival dance that enthralls,
crossing the mind just to tumble away.
The magic rushes through us, fresh and new --
Like a lullaby I've heard before,
The glittering whiteness, the shifting hues,
bounding gleeful into something more.
The dance of the colors, now, seems like a loop,
I never dreamt I'd have the chance,
To see it close it complete, all swish and swoop!
But here it is, as the carnival dance

Turns me round and I look backwards, seeing all I've been --
And with a laugh rejoin the music, all to dance this song again.

Nemophilist (A writing)

Psithurism filled in the little pockets of silence that the forest had between the groans of the trees. It was a white noise background to the sounds of deer calling to one another across the landscape. Each bird call or friendly bellow echoed off of the trees like a pinball bouncing in its machine, but always seemed to reach the ears of its intended audience. These were the sounds that Moss heard today as he lazed in a patch of violet flowers. The stag enjoyed the smell of these particular blooms. He thought it had to be their location both always being baked in the sun and close to the strong magic of a mushroom circle. He religiously moved from his home to this place for daily gokotta.

The sophrosyne stag blearily peered over the landscape. The pond glittered just over to his left like a blue gem. The brook swiftly moved from his right to fill it, hissing the whole way from the crying idol that silently mourned at its origin. He smiled, blinking away the last dregs of sleepiness from his eyes so that he could take a better look. A gust of wind rustled the tree above him, causing the leaves to flicker and the shadows on the ground to do the same. It made the illusion that Moss was moving, when in fact he lay still on the floor of the forest. He almost felt as if he were drifting over the landscape... only to realize that he had indeed fallen asleep and his mind was doing just that. Silently he watched others at play or at rest, occasionally stopping to check on one or two, before moving on. It was then that he realized that he was indeed a Nemophilist; a lover of the forest and nature. This place was the one place he truly loved and belonged in.

While his mind wandered the forest, his body slept. It was a gray mound among violet flowers. A smile graced the deer's face, a mask of pure contentment. A little flower near his nose flailed wildly with each breath or sigh. So was a regular day in the forest for a stag who slept long, but wandered constantly.

Seed's Poetry Corner: Two Valentine's Day Poems (2014)

I love Valentines Day, so let's have a couple of poems I wrote while wandering.

The Rosy Sky

The sky tumbles, cloud-line cracks
in the rosy horizon, peeling off
flushed pieces of heaven, sending
petals with the arc of the sky
in their veins cascading, cascading.

A Distant Valentine

The petals settle on my back and ears,
like rain, landing on my face
with soft touches, the brief brushing
like a whisper, like the full, rounded
tones of an an "I love you,"
colored like the flush of first love,
unexpected as a reminder, a love
you've kept inside so long as to forget.
And so the love collects around, like snow.

They fall in the arc of the sky,
tumbling over me in freefall -- over
the horizon, only in a brush.
They coat the bottom of the lake scarlet.
they're tissues for a weeping idol,
they're flowers for the dead.
The petals dissolve into koi
over the fountain -- and into
the mouths of the twin gods,
who whisper their love endlessly.

So I am sure: The sky is vast enough
That all our "I Love Yous" might somehow reach.
