I'm very new to the game, and my deer is an adult now. Since I have trouble with the no-chat gameplay, I don't have a clue how to ask people/deer in the game for a pelt or antlers or whatever. I end up mooing (thats what it sounds like to me) at people in hopes one of them casts a spell on me. That method doesn't work, obviously, since I still have the default pelt and only some flowers in my antlers.
I don't have a character for my deer at this time (didn't know I was supposed to have one), but I do have requests for a set for him/her (since I see people doing the same). I don't know how this works, so someone is going to have to take me by the hand and walk me through it.
The dark brown pelt, real deer antlers and real deer mask. I'm sorry if this is the same/similar to your deer, but then that means you have good taste!

You don't have to have a character! It's simply the way many players choose to play the game :3 Do what makes you happy!
Rather than mooing a lot, most players will understand a "point and lead" method. The roar/moo action is something usually used to get attention rather than to point at something specific. Use the orange icon (orange for action, blue for emotion) with the image of a hoof drawing a purple line to "point" and the blue head tilt/question/confusion icon and/or the orange nodding icon to ask someone to follow you. Then, lead that person to whatever object will give them the correct spell to cast (a mushroom tree, sleeping deer, pine tree, or fairy ring) and point again. Usually they will get the point. If they look confused, get the kind of spell you want and cast it on them - but only once or twice, and don't put a pelt spell on a mini deer. Most players will get annoyed with spellspamming unless it is being used as a game, and a mini deer cannot sneeze off any pelt spell you cast and they have to go through a good bit of trouble to get their original set back.

And thank you for the tips! I'm so used to using a chatbox I have trouble communicating. This will definately help.

I've started calling my deer Maggie, and she's a deer-cow crossbreed, apparently. Once I finish her character I'll probably post her bio.
I tried to get a screenshot of her to post, but when I paste it to a word document to crop it, all there is is an off-white box. I tried PrtSc/SysRq first, then Control + C. Anybody know how to take a screenshot right?
Use this to find out what
ctrl+p is how you take a screenshot, then go here VV
Make sure to click the compatibility files button to see your screenshots. You then need to move them to a new folder, upload them to an image-sharing site, and get the url to each specific screenshot to be able to post them.
