Heya, I had an idea but I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions for it.
I'd kind of like to write a series of Christmas stories for you all. And if at all possible, I'd love to get a little community involvement on what kind of a theme for each, who should be in them, ect. I haven't decided about opening up character slots for all of them or if a few will be generic stories. I'd like these to be a gift to everyone anyway
So here's what I'd like if you guys don't mind answering a few questions. And if you want to 'agree' with anyone's responses, please do so - it'll help me decide what ideas are popular and such.
1 - What kind of a Christmas story should it be? What should it be about?
2 - Who should be in the story? Should it be generic animals? Should it involve specific TEF characters?
3 - Should there be a theme or moral to the story?
4 - Should the story be based on a popular Christmas song? And if so, which song?
5 - Lastly, what suggestions or ideas do you have?
I'm going to write twelve stories altogether, so any ideas are greatly appreciated.
I'm planning on writing a few now and posting them starting December 1st. Keep checking this for when I have character slots available for stories, too! They will be in bold below
I officially have 12 stories now. Thank you to everyone who came up with suggestions. I could use one or two more deer for the Night Before Christmas and Rudolph stories but otherwise I should be good on characters too.

Ideas so far (striked out = I've gotten it written, but it won't be posted until December 1st or later, and ** = I started it but haven't finished yet) :
Quad - A deer walks in a dreary winter night, finding a town where Christmas lights seem to warm his spirit. A child in the town has a Christmas wish, and he hears it... *would be a generic deer story, non TEF*
Quad - What if a deer randomly found a Christmas ornament on a tree in the Endless Forest? What would they think? How would they react? Featuring Toukan, Cloud, and Aeis
Quad - A story where one of the most rejected/hated/lonely deer in the Endless Forest is shown some love by a total stranger.
Quad - What if the Endless Forest baddies had their own end-of-the-year party?
Terabetha - A story in the style of A Christmas Carol, with guest appearances from TEF ghost deer to play the roles of the different spirits, and a story where the main character learns an important seasonal lesson...
Characters taken - Scrooge (Verdy's Walter), Cratchit (ShimmyShimmy's Silence) Marley's Ghost (Zerg's Laghodessa), The Ghosts of Christmas Past (my Trunks), Present (CelticMystress' Mystress) and Future (Danny2610's The Creature), and Tiny Tim (Two's Caden)
Trigger - A 'Twas the Night Before Christmas' story where a Santa deer visits the Endless Forest, or perhaps...an Endless Forest deer doing Santa's job for him?
Eyestrain - A Rudolph-style TEF story.
Deer to be included so far - Chickenwhite's Raleigh, Zerg's Zergarikiaka, Pega's Scape, Ourania's Ourania, SnowSauria's Snow, CelesteLune's Celeste, Nix42's Deer (need info please), Vandettta's Tusse, and Halafax will be our 'Rudolph'
Eyestrain - A story inspired by the Carol of the Bells and featuring Brd.
PLK217 - A story inspired by Good King Wenceslas (Featuring Silun and Laruna)
Zerg - A Nativity Story (The three wise deer will probably be Mar Sart, Yorres, and Mystress, and Kaoori and Wesker will be our Mary and Joseph, with RedKora, Serendipity and Zephyr as 'shepherds')
Chickenwhite - A ghost story where a deer meets a strange fawn and shows them the Christmas spirit. Featuring Redd

Something else I thought about doing for this would be a 12 stories of Christmas thing, which would mean I'd be writing like crazy but I've done that before. Don't know if I'll follow through with that but it would be interesting to see what other kinds of stories are suggested.

As another idea, perhaps you could give an idea of an endless forest Santa visiting on Christmas eve, a bit in the style of Twas the night before Christmas? I'm sure to many forest deer the phenomenon would be quite incredible!

@Trigger - I think I'd rather
Of course I don't want this to be an "open slots and write one story for one character" kind of a thing, I'd rather it be more like "Let's take this theme and see who we can include into it". So I'd rather base the stories around a theme instead of individual characters, if that makes sense.
@Danny - I'll reserve the Ghost of Christmas Future for her, thanks!
@Everyone - Trying to decide if we need to include a Jacob Marley kind of a character, or if we should just stick to the Past, Present, and Future ghosts for the story. Also would it be selfish if I reserved the Ghost of Christmas Past role for my Trunks?
Do you know what else would be neat for this...what if anyone else who writes a story has it added to the collection? It would be a lot like my Forest Fables event. And anyone can add a story to add to the Christmas cheer!

Alright, one more question for everyone - would you care if I got to work on a story or two now? I know it's still November but you can always read it in December if you'd like.
I'd start with the two I came up with and by that time maybe we'll have enough characters for the Christmas Carol and Night Before Christmas stories. And hopefully there will be both more story ideas and stories written by others.
One more thing, I want to name this whole thing "The 12 ______ of Christmas" but replace "days" with something deer or forest related. Any suggestions for that?

But if you are in the need of characters, then I surly won't mind. (Honestly, I was thinking a little bit how would Silun look like the Good King). So I am honored if you want to use him, yet I don't think Foxbrow would fit in there. She is, as I call her myself, a 'ginger gigglet'. And besides, There never was any connection between her and Silun. They don't know each other. If you want, you may use her in another story (a mischievous little elf or something like that would be the best for her.)
I wish I could help you by suggesting someone. At least for this writing but since Silun is so secluded... Only deer that came to my mind, who is in a relation to Silun, is LaRuna.

Another update - I added another story idea of mine, and I need two important characters for it - a deer who is a reject, lonely, and/or hated, and a sweet and kind fawn. I could also use a few deer to be insulting toward the main character.
Lastly, I don't want this to be strictly for writing, so if anyone does any christmas artwork, it can be listed with the writing too.
Got the third story written now, not sure which one to write next...maybe the Carol of the Bells one, or maybe the nativity one...

Someone meets a strangely blue and cold fawn in the forest and warms it, shows it the spirit of Christmas by sharing what little food can be found in the deep snow and it turns out to be a lost spirit who can now find its way thanks to the help of the stranger~

Something else, I might go ahead and post up an official entry that would explain this event, that I would link to the stories when I post them. If I get it up now (or in the next few days), those who write or do art toward it can know what's going on and get a head start on it. It will be December 1st when I post all the stories I've gotten written so far, and after that, I'll post the ones I get written next. The only reason why I'm doing that is because it's not technically the Christmas season yet, so I don't want to jump right into it this early like department stores do, you know?

Okay, so my goal for today will be to write both Eyestrain's and Chickenwhite's stories (or at least get started on them). I think I have some really good ideas for both of them
Also, I kind of realized that the third story I came up with may be too similar to basically the Christmas Carol one and the last one combined, so I may remove that one and think of something different instead. Not sure yet, but I don't intend for these stories to have the same theme anyway.
Maybe I can just write one with a vivid description of a Christmas setting much like my Return to Nature stories...
I just had an idea, actually. What about a story where a fawn gets to celebrate Christmas much like how a child would? What would Christmas Morning be like for a fawn? What kind of presents would they get? What kind of meal would they have with their family? What would deer do to celebrate?
