Hi everyone, I'm Terra. I'm new to TEF, as I've just started playing yesterday, actually. I've started out as a fawn and I've noticed they don't have that great of a reputation. Or at least, new players altogether don't.

I have to say, that makes the game kind of intimidating. I don't want to come off as obnoxious, but I'm not completely sure of the way things work - both in the game, and on the community site. So I just have a couple questions that I would really appreciate having answered.

-What tips do you have for new players? What and what not to do?
-How do you get the image commissions?

Mainly, I'd like to know whats expected of new fawns. Thanks so much, please reply. :3

Nothing really is 'expected' of anyone here, other than to mind common courtesies and have fun! We try not to come off as intimidating.

Advice for new players can be found in the TEFc Directory, Help and Etiquette Blog, and various other threads. The TEFc Directory is also one of the best places to find answers for common questions, but if you don't find what you're looking for, it is perfectly alright to make a thread to ask. Eye

Image commissions are posted by players here and transactions are made offsite, usually through PayPal. A search of 'commissions' in the search function on the left hand side of the page usually will bring up many threads, both open and closed, that contain pricing and examples of the artist's work. It still doesn't really tell me what's expected of new players. Fawns and the like. I don't want to come off as obnoxious in-game, so if you could give some more specific tips?

Whoops, never mind! I didn't

Whoops, never mind! I didn't see that when I posted. Thanks again so much!

As a fawn you can learn and

As a fawn you can learn and the other players know they are "New" ...
They are forgiving towards fawns ...generally .
As long as you do ot "Moooo" constantly and cast spells to deer they don't want ....
Try to be polite and bow to deer you meet and play or dance with them ...
The most important thing is ...Try to have fun Eye

Everything that was stated above is definitely something to think about.

Always bow. That's the general greeting between deer. As well as sniffing.

As someone stated above, mooing is a big nono. Excessively anyway. You're totally free to moo to see who responds. There are plenty of deer who will respond to a moo.

It's okay to get into spell fights with other people, because thats fun! But if you are playing with a mini deer (They look just like adult deer, but are the size of a fawn) don't cast a pelt spell on them. Mini's have to go through a bit of a tedious process to keep their current pelts Smiling

But also another important thing to remember is that there are people on here who just play the game, while there are others who are in roleplay elsewhere, usually skype. So sometimes a deer is sitting and might not interact with you because they aren't looking (Like me because I am horrid at multitasking! D:). There are also deer who may chase you away. It's not meant to be offensive to you, just your character. They are roleplaying in game as well. Don't take it to heart Smiling

Watching other deer isn't a bad idea either. It's actually quite fun! To learn what others do by watching. They may even invite you to play and dance! And you're free to initiate play as well, but watching interactions is a good idea to gauge if they want to play or not Smiling

Another good practice would be to look at the map. -> http://www.endlessforest.org/community/current-map-forest

You'll see a bunch of picto's there. You can click on the map and TAB through the pictos you can't hover over and click on, because pictos like to hide under each other. But once you click on a picto, it will bring you to that players page. Sometimes it will take you directly to the players page with no information. Meaning, they haven't joined the site yet. But sometimes you get to a page that has biographies of in depth roleplay characters. That way you can kinda get an idea of the character you are looking at, rather than rely on the image of the deer in forest.

If you have any other questions just ask ^^ You're welcome to add me on skype if you need help too: tori-inazuma-phoenixen
