TEF Memorial Walk 2025

This year has been our first attendance in a long time. Its hard to believe that Fly has been gone this long already. Time feels strange.
It feels somehow as though he was just here, but at the same time...it also feels like forever ago. <3

We woke up early on the first morning to join the group in the first walk. But sadly, we missed it by only a few minutes.
I guess my clock was slow. We spent the morning in the forest walking quietly from place to place, visiting with the sleeping deer
and sitting with those in vigil. - Ohh how i wish, in my wildest dreams, that the Dev's would take notice in our memorial
days in the forest. And i wish they would make it night time for us. And i wish that they would lay out candles in the spots of
our lost love ones. I wish, i wish. (Big dreams, i know...) I will likely always hold onto this wish.


Later that day (5pm) We gathered ourselves at the first location, the spot for Run <3


Sitting there already were my dear friends Jeweleye and Widmung, as well as the wonderful Fjara and Atlas.

A few moments go by and then the time for our walk begins. Jeweleye and Widmung stay behind as
Fjara and Atlas and P all stand up and we begin our ceremony. We bow and snuggle the info deer and pay our respects.
All the while, we are filled with bittersweet emotions thinking about how special this all is.
We have one last bow for Run and then we start our slow walk over to the spot for Fly <3

P's hooves sink into the soft soil of the poppy patch as waves of emotions take over. Tears are in
our eyes as we each take our bows and embrace the info deer in sorrow and love. Memories of our
days with Flyleaf fill our minds. He was such a big part of our early days in the forest, back then it
was impossible to think of him not being there. Now here we are current day, and many years later.



Feeling so grateful for the experiences and the community that we share. I was so glad that Fjara
and Atlas were sitting with us for this moment. I think if we had done the walk alone, it might have
been almost too much for us to bear. We sat together as the wind blows through the trees above us.
P couldn't help but wonder if the forest would still exist someday when his player would pass on.

The three of us stood up slowly and gave a sulk of sadness as we embraced and bowed one last time.



We started our walk to the next location, as P looked back at the poppy field in gentle remembrance.

We reached Fincayra's memorial and there was a large nest of sleeping deer in their spot, all surrounding
the info deer with love. P made sure to walk extra quietly as to not disturb anyone and to respect the
location. We bowed and embraced and payed our respects as tiny birds landed on our antlers.



We rose together and gave hugs to the deer that were in vigil, and then we started making our way to the last location.



This has been the smallest memorial walk in attendance that we've been to, but the feelings were the same as we walked in single file slowly towards the creek of the crying idol.





We reached the location for Maria's memorial and bowed and gave our respects to them.
It was very quiet and the sounds of the creek running by was of a great comfort. "The crying
idol sheds tears for all of us..." P thought for a moment, as he looked lovingly at the resting info deer.
Small flutters of golden light danced through the trees and P felt at peace.

He remained at this spot for a while longer in respect, and then slowly stood. He thanked Fjara and Atlas
as best as he could, Being so thankful they were present on this day. With a bow and a hug, he then left
them to meditate by the creek. He took his time walking slowly back to Flyleaf's place, and once he got
there - he collapsed into the soil and slept. He slept there for hours. Only waking up for a moment
to shift position and check to see that the info deer was still in its place before drifting off again.
He remained there until the following day, and soon it was time for the second walk of the day to begin.

P stood up and walked across the field to Run's memorial, and when he got there he saw Widmung sitting near a grave stone.
They greeted each other enthusiastically and then gathered at Run's memorial just in time to start the 5pm walk. It was just the two of us.

After our walk we returned to Fly's memorial and other deer from P's player joined us.
(These deer are never seen all together in the forest unless they are attending this event)
Jeweleye also joined the group and we sat nested together in honor of our friend.

Later on that night, Widmung and P had a special play time together.
They romped around the forest and played silly games together in the pond.
They dunked themselves into the water and turned into fawns.
They laughed and danced and eventually made their way to P's home ...



...and then spent the rest of the evening nested warmly inside the old oak tree.


It felt appropriate to conclude the day in this way, by sharing the magic of this place...
just like we have for so many years and with all the ones we have lost,
as well as the ones we are still so lucky to have in our lives.
