Usually, the easiest way to tell someone in-game that you need help getting a spell is to ask them to follow you (tap the ground, nod, and walk towards where you're going - but don't go too far, make sure they get the idea and follow you), then go to whatever item will give the spell type you want (mushroom tree for masks, sleeping deer for pelts, pine tree for antlers, mushroom circle for animal/shape spells) and point at that object. If they look confused, you can try casting that spell type on them once or twice and nodding to see if they get it that way, but don't spell spam your helper! They usually don't like that And don't cast a pelt spell on a mini deer, because it's difficult for them to retrieve their set again.

Oh. And if you ask for help from someone in the Forest instead of on the community, you'll need to let them know when you have the spell you want. Have your deer shake its head 'no' for spells you don't want, and when you do finally get what you want, nod 'yes.' Some deer will also rear up in excitement and hop around :3

lol, it happens. Make sure you save your set when you get it (Press the escape key to open your menu, go to 'Network' and choose 'Save'), and make sure you have the set you want before you log out or whatever you're currently wearing will overwrite what you had saved. I'll come find you again.
