@Grammar Awe! RPing is just
Awe! RPing is just like writing a story, though with other people. There's usually some major rules(like no godmodding or talking for another's character) but really it's pretty easy to get the hang of! I'm not sure if Zash is going to be decent these days for meeting others, but I can always see. If not I've got others who would be over the moon to make a new friend. ^^
@Poppy

@Waning-Sun The writing part
The writing part I've got down without an issue. The problem that arises is my inability to focus on one topic for long periods of time. Plus, I don't know much about TEF yet, as I'm just a new baby-member. xP
For example, how do deer in the Forest normally behave? Why do they have different scents, and how do players determine what their deer's scents would be? (I've noticed this in a lot of profiles, but I don't have it in my deer's profile, because I haven't yet been in a situation where I'd need that information.) Would my deer be looked down on because he doesn't know anything about the Forest?
@Grammar Honestly, the
Honestly, the forest is interpreted a little differently by every player and even differs from character to character. It all falls down to you feel like interpreting it. As far as the different scents go, I think it's just a fun thing- personal opinion really, I'm not too sure either- that makes your character that much more original. As for choosing what scent your character has, that's really up to you. For my guys, I either picked scents of things I liked or thought went well together, or something that went with their past lives. As for not knowing anything of the forest, certainly not! A lot of characters have been in the same boat, but through RPing with other characters they gradually pick up information on the forest, or learn through observation in game. Best thing to do is just let your character run around and interact with the environment and other characters. Eventually you'll learn how they respond to things in their environment and the different situations presented by the characters they meet.
@Wolf
Okay...come on brain come up with something here.
The stag's breath clouded before his face, reminding him that the summer was over- as if the cold aching in his bones weren't reminder enough. Bleary eyed, he glanced around, blinking away the light as he tried to comprehend where he was again. Oh right. His brown gaze met the off white tree trunk that he had curled up against. Somewhere in the golden sea of grass in the Birch. I should have picked somewhere warmer... he thought, trying to curl up more, but ended up grinding his spine into the trunk. Fighting a grimace of frustration, Zash lurched to his hooves. It took him a few moments of shuffling around before he found his balance, and once he did, realized how pointless that was. He stared vacantly around at all the grass, trying to figure out where he felt like wandering to...or just...curl back up into ball and laze the day away.
He started forward without allowing himself a chance to ponder too much. There was no reason to, really. The grass tickled his sides as he moved, threatening to trip him up even more than his limping gait generally accomplished on its own.
At least the sun felt good....
A scent caught his attention as he crossed into the shadows of the First Forest, one that the stag had almost passed off, before stopping dead and wheeling about to stare at place he had just been. Confusion crossed the planes of his face as hope flickered in his heart. His head tilted to the side, bad ear flicking as he tried to process this.
"Shana...?" It couldn't be her. He hadn't seen her in...months. Hell, it felt like years, so much had changed since then...
He took a hesitant step forward, uncertain if his mind was playing games with him. It couldn't be Shana...could it? Could it? The Forest was full of strange miracles...maybe...maybe it was her. Allowing the flicker of hope to grow a bit, Zash started after the doe's trail, half hoping he would find an old friend at the end of it.
I'm so sorry.. Jud just has

The grass was autumnal and dry, snapping as she half-heatedly strolled through it. The low sun trickled through the birch tree's leaves, casting a dappled wash on the bracken. Shana's side rested on the damp, peeling bark of a birch tree, her eyes cast down to the ground. The forest felt colder than usual, the bitterness nipping at her bones, chilled air stilling the surroundings; it just emphasized her emotions. Wet undergrowth clung to her anklebones, dry dead grass in turn sticking to it, the doe felt like a plant… some kind of object, melting into the surroundings.
Ears swiveled around to listen to the ambience. A brief crackle - it didn't sound like much. There it was again, and again; but not like a normal deer's footsteps. A thought registered in Shana's mind, albeit vague, but she remembered something about that pattern. Some kind of walk? A certain someone? A friend? No. She tried to quash the thought. She does not have any friends - was her melancholic self assurance.
Nevertheless, before these 'footsteps' of some description grew any fainter, Shana assumed her raven form and took off. She felt like she didn't have the energy to awkwardly converse with an unknown deer or be ushered away once more by others. However deep down she felt like she needed the interaction, whatever the form may be.
The sound of rustling undergrowth and flapping wings permeated the forest as Shana made her way into the canopy, following the strange sequence of sound that grew ever fainter. Approaching the border between the two forests, she spotted a grey figure near the shadows. It took a moment to register… but Shana recognised that this stag was someone she new! …Zash? Zash! Yes Zash! A jolt of happyness ran through her, something she has not felt in a while. Does he still like her? Recognise her?
Not knowing what to do with herself exactly, Shana came to rest on the spindly branch of a nearby pine. She swivelled her head to the side for a better inspection. A twig came loose off her branch and landed right beside the stag.
Going to track this too! I
He is the sweetest thing.
Nice, this bio! Track
(Nireda is the crow who is with your group right now)
(Wall of text is always good!
Zash's progress was a slow one. He was never what anyone would consider to be a "tracker" by any sort of means. Not unless, of course, the scent was fresh and didn't stray across anything else to make it difficult to follow. He could track things, but the ultimate limit of that was in the human world, where trees, brush and grass gave way to buildings and side streets...basically things that made sense in his mind. In the forest everything melded together, save for the pair of trees split halfway down the trunk, the occasional sapling that grew in an arbitrary spot amongst its older kin. Those things he could remember, but the rest...no. It was all the same. Something that he either ran into or tripped up on from time to time.
Birds twittered overhead as the stag's limping gait carried him along, his gaze downcast as he tried to see some sort of path Shana might have taken, or at least something that said she had passed through there. Anything really.
Something small and solid thudded against the earth on Zash's blindside, causing the gray male to tense and try to hop out of the way at the same time. His body twisted around, noticeably relaxing when the potential murderer in question was just a tree branch. The breath that had hitched in his throat finally relaxed, becoming a quiet and uneasy chuckle.
"It's just a branch...nothing malicious or evil...Zash." he murmured to himself under his breath, taking a moment to regroup his thoughts. He noticeably relaxed as the seconds wore on, the tension leaving his shoulders and neck. Sighing, the stag brought his gaze skyward to stare up into the trees, blinking away his surprise to see a dark bird- a crow- staring back at him. He held its gaze for a few moments, trying to determine whether it was a deer turned bird or merely a sentient crow.
Just a crow...but, it seems so...familiar.
The brown eye blinked as he brought his gaze away, trying to return to the task at hand. It took him a few limping steps before Zash realized just why the crow seemed familiar. It was like getting smacked in the face with a tree he didn't know was there. Only better, because there was no biting sting of bark against his face.
Shana had a crow form.
The gray male wheeled about so fast he nearly tripped up on his own hooves, lurching as he fought to maintain his balance.
"Shana?" a hopeful smile crept onto his face despite his better judgment. There were millions of crows in the forest, what were the odds that this one was the one that Shana hid behind? But her scent...and the bird...surely there was some connection?
@Necrosie
Thank you for the track!
@Firefli
Awww, thank you! I love him to pieces too. He's a pill, but he's a loveable one.
@Deer
Oh! I think he's met her before!(Or Reate...or one of my other guys. Someone has met your gal.) And if not, then he's happy to have met her. He's sort of overwhelmed by everything and I'm a bit distracted, but we're always happy for the company!
I've picked up on how a deer
Sadly, it's usually only Nireda who would do that for a friend. Spartak has much testosterone and will go fast anyways; Oaxis is blind--he can't see you at all; and Nine just does her own thing, if you're with her or not. xD
Glad Nireda could get to know Zash a bit today!

That's a cute screenie! He's really happy and touched by her patience, as was I. She's a sweet character!(And I need to subject her picto to memory because I always seem to have problems with remembering it!)
@Red
Not a problem Red. Your character looked like a Nameless on our screen as well. I still treat it as "In Character" since Zash was either way and responded as he would if it was Snowflake who attacked him.

I honestly thought he was going to flail around and panic until he sneezed the spell off, but he just went with it. So...if he's going to be a bunny he's going to be a really super adorable one. xD
I'm thinking of letting him keep the bunny spell for a while. Or maybe go between the two. Not sure. All I know is he's really cute as a bunny and he has a blast.
I think he's the cutest thing ever too.

Spartak was having fun with some spells and decided to put one on him!
And idk why Eleanor seemed to be having fun with us until she got kind of aggressive and charged at you...
When I came up to her later she seemed a bit apologetic about it. xD
Spartak had fun!
Eleanor wasn't having "fun"--
o-o whoa. xD oh! still, it
whoa. xD oh! still, it was fun, though! Does she like to eat small rodents or other meats instead of grass or herbs? That would be very interesting, considering some deer eat both of such things!
Honestly depends on her mood.

An instant reaction to dart off caused her right wing to twitch as the stag's eyes met hers properly. This most definitely was Zash, one of the few deer who cared enough to converse and get to know her; maybe he still cared even. She must talk to him, for she did not want this opportunity to pass by. Seizing the moment Shana unfurled her wings and dropped down from the Birch tree's branch, and came to land slightly ceremoniously in front of the stag on a patch of shorter grass. The crow's conceited feelings dissolved as she reversed back to her deer form, finally giving a small smile.
"…Hello, Zash." Shana said, lightly avoiding eye contact, instead looking at the glistening trees beyond him.
@Serow An incredibly late
An incredibly late thank you for the track! Hopefully he'll run into Nevina sometime soon again.
@Wolf
The smile had flickered slightly as he held the crow's gaze, taking a limping step back as the creature suddenly dropped from the branch it was perched on. For half a second he thought he was going to be dived on, but those thoughts were dashed when the bird landed before him and transformed into a doe. His smile returned in full as he returned to his earlier spot.
A chuckle escaped him at the greeting, as if she hadn't been gone for as long as she had.
As if nothing had changed.
"Hello Shana..." a pause as the stag stared off into space a moment, collecting his thoughts. No doubt he couldn't hide how glad he was to see her back, but he didn't want to pepper her with questions or with how worried he had been in her absence. The brown gaze returned to the doe, "It's...it's great to see you again."
Hello Zash..i was very

Ah, so that was your Sirius!
I'll keep a look out for your boy the next time he's in game. Zash wouldn't mind keeping him company again sometime.
Gotta put a track here. :')

Squinting in the golden light, the doe collected her thoughts. She felt throughly lost at the current time, but what beset her more was the need to know how this grey stag was doing. Something didn't seem quite right with him even through her own haze of emotion.
"Ah… eh… I'm sorry I was gone… I… shouldn't have done that…" Shana spoke quietly "How have you been?"
She had scores of questions to ask but said nothing more.
@Snow askeofjemelmfie ;-; I
askeofjemelmfie ;-; I fail at everything. Thank you for the track!
@Wolf
Zash slowly followed after her, making note of her...weakness...? of her legs. Perhaps she had been a bird for a while? Maybe going from bird to deer made her legs weak? He was prepared to offer assistance if she started to fall, but she seemed to keep herself upright well enough. He simply came to a pause at her side, before motioning toward the ground with his stump of a limb, "...why don't we sit?" However he went silent at her words.
I shouldn't have done that.
No. No you really shouldn't have done that. Instead of speaking those thoughts aloud, the stag replied with a soft, "Some things cannot be helped," though he went silent at her question. "I've been...okay. Worse, possibly and better. Just sort of living day to day, you know?" He trailed off at that before adding quietly, "Though...though seeing you back is a wonderful surprise." I didn't think you'd come back.
Oh my goodness I absolutely

His sensitivity to portals is compelling, since La has been human-obsessed since her fawn-hood.
I'll probably be able to come
Edit: Aggghhhh. Never got around to this. So much stuff came up in recent months it just slipped my mind. I feel like I was waiting for this boy to stabilize a little more before I trusted him to RP. He's not a bad guy, he just might give your character whiplash with his emotions. In fact I sort of shut him down for that reason. La will be the first creature I throw him at when I feel he's alright again. He's just about there now, just a little sort of all over the place giddy from recent events.
