The blue and gold doe inched forward before she stood closer to the stag, lowering her head. She began snuffling all over him curiously, neglecting to answer his question. Canine-like whines left her as her rib-cage heaved with each sniff, expressing her worry through primal noises instead of spoken word. The realization of who this was had hit her upon hearing the voice speaking softly to her. Once she was done with her initial sniffing, the flat of the top of her muzzle was pressed gently to his cheek before she moved herself, laying beside him. Her head was lowered and lain next to his, a soft huff of a sigh leaving her. " Live..." Was all she said. It was more a plea than a demand, and she pressed her cheek against his in an attempt at softly comforting the both of them.
It was why Seed had changed
"Every so often, I write poems for places in the forest, and I leave them scattered about, with clues leading to them. However...I've done this several times. Most of the places that grab me immediately, I have already written for. So...I'm asking others, for ideas."
He wasn't sure yet how well this idea would work, and it showed up in his voice. Still, it was an idea.
@Farelia The gray was taken
The gray was taken off guard by her suddenly appearing at his side, but he didn't shy away from her comfort.
He tried to press his side against her's in reassurance, murmuring, "I'll be okay..." even if he didn't look like it at that moment in time. He appreciated her company, somewhat happy that soon he could be of a positive company than a sad or pitiful one. He just had to get better first.
@Seed
"That sounds like a lot of fun," Zash replied with a nod. He wrote poetry. The gray wondered if he would be up for reciting a poem or two...if only he was well enough to walk...or see...he could have gone and got a book or two of poems to read to him. "What places have you wrote about already?"
Seed thought about this --
"That dandelion patch I mentioned, the lotus sitting in the center of the pond, a pair of trees I liked, some of the rocks by the playground, some trees in a sunbeam, the blue bowl...Really, all sorts of places. There are 16 or so poems I've written for these events. Meaning is everywhere."
He said, eventually giving up on making a full catalogue using only his memories. They were places that seemed insignificant, many of them...But when you looked into their hearts, they became powerful and important. Because it was all in the perspective.
Zash pondered this, wondering
"That's alright. It's not
He delivered that with a warm smile. It'd be difficult to explain precisely what he meant -- but only that when you were someone, you saw things a certain way. Sharing what you saw could allow others to see it that way. Something like that.
"I haven't had a new person's perspective in a very, very long time, so I need it sometimes."
"But even with perspective,
"Yes, but with perspective, I
This was the thought that went into his asking -- that people who saw things differently might select different places to be beautiful or meaningful. They'd cast the dramatic events of their world in different places, under different lights.
"Actually, I've written quite a bit about those... But because of their temporary nature, they're not suitable for a scavenger hunt. This is different from my regular work, after all."

Elaine walked slowly through the forest, the dappled rays of the sun illuminating her tan-brown fur. She had only explored a small portion of the forest and she was already tired. She layed down in a particularly sunny spot not far from the abandoned ruin and rested her head against the forest floor nearly closing her eyes until something caught them. A deer was passing her by, if not approaching her. She raised her head slightly, flicking an ear and gazing at the strange male, her eyes darting around for a split second "U-um...hello?" Elaine stammered. She didn't feel particularly at ease. She was tormented by men in the human world, and will she be tormented here? She didn't like this place one bit.
@Seed "Oh..." he trailed
"Oh..." he trailed off, his chin flopping to the ground as he thought. He hadn't thought of how temporary those things were. "I always thought the Ruins were nice and peaceful, in some sense. How they held the spirits of those past. That hill that overlooks the Blue Bowl...that holds the resting place of two. I didn't know Eraline...but I knew Phaios...the Blue Bowl itself...I don't like that place..." he trailed off again, "Sorry, I'm not too much help, Seed."
@ToppledTurtle
(Should she be viewed as a doe even if her picto is a fawn?)
The Gray didn't really know where he was going. He didn't know much of anything other than he was limping about just to move. By the time he heard the timid little voice, it was already too late. He halted, feeling puzzled, until his mind caught up with him. He must have stumbled too close to someone. Zash's head tilted to catch sight of the doe resting in the grass, his expression softening a bit to not show his foul mood. He wouldn't dream of taking out on someone who didn't deserve it.
"Hello...." he replied with a faint smile, glancing about him, "I didn't mean to disturb you, I get airheaded sometimes, don't really realize where I'm wandering..." he shook himself, deciding on settling down, "I'm Zash," his head tilted, "What may I call you?"

Elaine tilted her head in confusion as his face softened. Was something dragging him down? Whatever it was, she wanted him to be happy. "It's okay..call me Elaine or Ellie or whatever you want," she said, shifting her weight on the softened grass. "Is something wrong? If there is, can I help? I don't like it when others are distressed." she said with a little, quirky smile. Elaine didn't know what it was that was making her so nice and accepting to Zash. Maybe it was his scars... she didn't like to think of anybody hurting anyone in that sort of way. She pushed that thought out of her mind and focused on his character instead.
(Lol, it's all good. I was
Elaine. He made a mental note of her name, but shook his head at her question, his smile barely flickering, "It's really...quite complicated, to be perfectly honest with you. There's not much that can be done to help at the moment..." his smile faded, his brown eye shifting to look at the ground while he pondered, "Are you new here? I don't think I've seen you around before..." his smile returned, "Then again, I could miss half the forest if I wander like that too often."

There was always something about the way they were sitting, where they were sitting, that her eyes, her mind, her soul, noticed - even if she herself remained motionless.
But it wasn't until another had stopped by that she decided to greet, to invite. Despite a quiet longing for close company, she felt distant, almost uninterested, in everything around her. It puzzled, troubled, and annoyed her.
But then she smiled faintly, eyes focused on him, ears pricked foward in curiosity.
You seem almost unwell, stranger. The words slid effortlessly through her teeth, refusing to cut corners. She was blunt, yet still tender in her delivery.
But instead of pressing further, she simply watched, patiently. There were far more subtle, far more gentle, ways of getting answers.

Hello. Sort of meant to write this earlier, got caught up in other things. You don't have to reply if you don't want to, she's basically a stranger to him, ha. He was quite nice. (: To clarify, the doe that he was sitting near a few hours ago near the Ruins (along with Lem) was one of my girls.

The Gray's head bobbed up to look at her, somewhat surprised to be spoken to, but welcomed it all the same. He studied her a moment, before giving a nod, "Just a fairly bad headache. They tend to crop up without warning..."
He gave a half smile, "It'll go away though, just no fun to deal with when I have them."

She was studying him too. Her hazel eyes noted every detail - for even the slightest change could hint at something important.
She returned the smile.
Have you attempted to sleep? They say it's the cure for everything. A front leg stretched out - no reason aside from mild discomfort in the bunched up muscles.
Ah, okay! He seemed to
He seemed to brighten a bit at that, "I have actually...brought my original migraine down to a headache. I can tolerate headaches over migraines. Those don't like anything making them go away." he shifted a bit when she did, good ear twitching as he repositioned his legs under him. He was used to discomfort or pain, from old injuries, but those were gone now. A fact that he forgot from time to time.
{Edit} Shameless bump for bio overhaul.
"Don't worry about it, don't
Seed tried to sound reassuringly enthusiastic. In the end, whatever use someone could be was good enough.
"I'll go looking at that hill sometime -- I don't think I've ever given it a thought. It may be worthwhile."
He said, with a thoughtful tone. He was already formulating ideas. He freed his hoof from underneath him and just sort of moved it in a circle around the dirt, musing on the topic.

A small and rather blue figure made it's way towards the home of many, slowly and a bit timidly. This 'thing' happened to be a doe, and that doe was not use to being around so many, so just thinking about it nerved her. She could see the liquid in the distance, and was almost there-- and then she realized that it was almost too quiet. Not a single soul lingered around the pond, which instantly made her feel better. It almost made her feel weird as well, but she honestly didn't care about that.
Ears standing and on alert, Ariana checked the surrounding areas for predators or other organisms, but only the croaking of frogs and chirping of birds was heard. Stepping forwards on never ending legs that were much too long for her liking, she'd allow her neck to crane forwards, sticking her nose into the cold liquid. It felt almost fake, the water. She then began to lap at it, though her eyes never failed to watch the area around her, tail flagged as if she were ready to bolt.

He nodded, feeling somewhat pleased that he could help, even if the topic itself wasn't a very nice one. "I'm glad I could give you some new perspective at least." he stated quietly, "I still feel it's not much help though."
@Bunnycorn
Zash held himself up against the trunk of one of the willows overlooking the pond. He was somewhat shrouded by the tendrils of the willow, giving him a quiet spot away from most deer that came to the pond. He wouldn't say he liked being alone. Sometimes he did, sometimes he didn't. More often than not he'd take the company of someone else over being by himself. Yet sometimes he liked to hear his own thoughts buzz around idly. He had already been listening to his thoughts buzz about for a good while by the time a blue doe came down to get a drink at the water. It was then that he shifted to his hooves, limping out of his spot in an attempt to give her peace- or at least let her know he was there. He didn't like making it seem like he was squirreled away and hiding from sight. He half glanced at her as he aimed for the shadows of the forest.

Zash glanced up, nodding as he did so. It had spooked him at first to see her, sure. It would have spooked anyone to see their dead standing before them again. It hadn't made sense at the time, but now that some time had come and gone, it just...made sense. In its own way...once he had a while to ponder it. "Of course, Keshi."
