A little thought nags my mind...

I am wondering do you 'discriminate' between work based on who did it?

This is a bit of a rant, so if you don't want to read, don't read it.

What I mean is, look at the writing section of the site: how many comments do most of the pieces have? Two? Three? Then look at Crimsongale's (this has nothing to do with you personally, it's just something I noticed and of course, I enjoyed reading your work very much <3) piece of writing... there are how many comments? Twenty Two. Perhaps there is another reason for this, but I have also noticed this in other situations.

I am just wondering if sometimes you could give some notice to people who may not be so 'famous' on the site. Their work is also often very good even though you may not be their best friend or they may not be very recognizable.

Really, do you discriminate between authors? What will probably happen now is that no one will read this. Ha.

I just needed to get this rant out, that's all.

Discrimination is all too

Discrimination is all too common here...
And not enough people can be bothered to change that.

yeha i noticed this too but

yeha i noticed this too

but actual... well it may sounds selfish but at the moment i have bigger problems to care about .. i even often to lazy/busy/unmotivated to read all the new entries, o posting comments (which will be all the same anyways 'i like this' 'woa this is cool'.. and so on... i always feel like the words lose their meaning then....)

/pointless comment

The only distinctions I make

The only distinctions I make between art/writing is those things I enjoyed and those I did not. Who the author is doesn't add to or detract from a work in my eyes. Still, I can only speak for myself.

Oh gosh, I've noticed this

Oh gosh, I've noticed this too~! Shocked Personally, I don't discriminate between authors/artists/anyone, and the only thing that stops me from reading and looking at and commenting upon every lovely post upon this site is the restrictions that a busy schedule at the moment presents in all it's icky time-consumingness. However, if I have the time, I always cruise around and look at and comment upon as many entries and enjoy as many stories and artworks as I can-this site is full of such talent, and it's always wonderful to see how everyone's styles and thoughts differ. I always find it awesome how the stuff upon this site never ceases to amaze me~! ♥

But yaaaaahs, I can see exactly what you're saying~! Oh, and I'm Zebbie, by the way-pleased to meet you! :3 I'm glad that I'm not the only one noticing this!

I understand what you mean by

I understand what you mean by time restraints because I have that too, sometimes you only have a couple of minutes of time.

I'm one of those bad

I'm one of those bad non-commenters.

I spend a lot of time writing for myself and actually going out and doing things IRL.

The problem is that...I can't write comments.
I feel stupid.
It's always "Hey I like this" "hey this line was good" "Wow that was really poetic" etc.
and I'm like "...do they really care if I 'like it' or not?"

I think they'll care.

I think they'll care. (:

Many people appreciate the positive feedback!

This may be silly, but since

This may be silly, but since I look up to your writing, Alec, I would be honored if you read my writing and said "I like it". I'm not saying you have to.. but to answer your question, maybe people do. ^^;;

Not that this changes the

Not that this changes the truth in your words, but just a random FYI- about 12 of those comments are my own.

But I do understand your point...

A lot of people write about

A lot of people write about their deer, or their deer's friends too. While it might be wonderful writing...not everyone feels inclined to read a story about someone they don't know. And trust me it's not always for lack of trying to get to know said deer ^^' Some people are friends and some arent, and, well, sure all your friends are going to comment on your story, and some people have more friends than others. Yeah, it's sad, but that's life >< As for people who write stories unrelated to forest happenings and such...this obviously doesn't apply, but those used to seeing only forest-based stories that have nothing to do with us sometimes don't look at all ><

-sigh- It's bothered me all

-sigh- It's bothered me all night, thinking that I may be one of those people. It makes me sad to think people aren't actually enjoying my works, that they do it because it's me. Or worse, that they don't because it's me.

I don't know what to think.
I feel bad about the readers I'm taking away from Alec and others..

@ Amazon/Kaoori-
Ah.
-dumbfounded-
Well I'll be sure to comment on them in the future. I actually did read your last story about Wesker & Kaoori I just can't recall if I commented due to how late I usually am back reading.

@Crimmy-
Hey now don't feel like that. It's not your fault you got here first and had a chance to build a rep. I mean honestly, I've been here what..4 months at best? I shouldn't expect to get a following until I've been a year or two and have had time to actually make a name for myself.

I'm happy with my two regular readers and the handful of ninja readers who occasionally post to say they read what I write but couldn't find a way to say so without sounding cliche or silly.

Gentle encouragement of the new writers on the scene is all that is necessary. Who knows? Maybe you could give one the "popular user bump" and get more readers trailing after them.

Mmh. I suppose I could do

Mmh. I suppose I could do that- though I am one of those ninja readers of yours and I never would've thought that one of my posts could possible encourage others to do the same..
I'm not popular XD

Still, I do love your writing, and will be sure to comment in the future (:
