WonderfullySarcastic- No problem, in my own opinion there aren't enough dragons with earth eyes anyways. Plus it saves having to hire a nest, why bother paying for that when you can just get matching brown eyes anyway. xD

I chose two names and put them together, so the combined name meaning is "White fire". I thought it was cool ^_^


Both my primary breeders (sadly still markingless), Quaddon, and Stormaga will be ready to breed in just a couple days. I don't know if I want to breed Quaddon with Stormaga. I might just to get hatchies to sell, see how they will turn out. Need to get Quaddon some markings too.

I know he's basic, but he's a wildclaw. I will eventually gene him up once I get the money to do so. Unless he has a really super pretty baby I need, I don't really want to keep an egg from the clutch, I just sort of need money and I'd rather stud him out than shell out money buying a female spiral or something...cause I will. There's a lot of pretty babies...

I kind of wish there was a minimum you could sell each breed for, that way people couldn't keep dropping the prices so much!

Yeah, I see beautiful double gene spirals going for under 20k. I remember joining a month ago and they were 200k and up. Probably even higher back before me...

Yea.. They're all getting that way. I couldn't even find a geneless Imp for less than 500k when I started, now... *sigh* Guess that's what happens when people are desperate for treasure and it's too taxing to get it from games..

Even for newbies, it's not that good. I mean, just.. the er, experience of having to really save to get that beautiful Spiral, or Snapper or Pearly.. Now it's like, 'Ok, I want one. *bam* I have one.' And the prices just get lower and lower. All of us non-newbies did that and it was exciting to finally have the dragon you were after and it was an accomplishment, of sorts..

What concerns me MOST about the prices of commons dropping is.. the prices of SD's and Imperials are not. Or Imperials for sure, not sure about Sky Dancers.. what I mean to say is the values aren't staying consistent in relation to other breeds. Now it's just THAT much harder to get your hands on a rarer breed - you make money by selling dragons that you used to get 100k a pop for, that are now going for 10-20k if you're lucky, maybe a bit more if they have nice genes.

Not to mention FR seems to love giving out 1-egg nests at the most inconvenient times, the rich get richer, so to speak.

Frustrating is understandable, but it made getting what you wanted so much sweeter. And I think the one-egg nests might be FR's way of trying to slow down the rapid drop in dragon prices. If people are just throwing together dragons to sell the offspring, and a constant high amount of babies are being born, then the prices will plummet.. I'm not saying that I like the single eggs, but if it helps the economy at all?

I don't think it's that expensive. To those who have a hard time saying no to a pretty dragon, or those just starting, sure, it's a pretty penny, but Imps again are down to almost 100k for non-gened, when the lowest ANY Imp ever was was a good 500-600k. They're slowly dropping too.

It has taken me until now to realize that Imp is "Imperial." /headdesk

Eh, just keep saving I guess. I'm someone who's pretty damn cheap though, so I prefer cheaper things. I understand that doesn't work out well on the internet, but...ugh. I'll just drop it here. Sorry. :/

Let's do some math.
I would have to sell 8 to 13 double-gened hatchlings to pay for her again. I'd have to sell at least double that to pay for the father, too. TWENTY SIX DRAGONS.

That's a minimum of 7 clutches, assuming some gracious higher dragon being smiles upon my cave and gives me 4-egg clutches every single time I try.
Add in cool-down times. What is it for guardians, 10 days?

That's 70+ days MINIMUM to re-earn the parents' prices with their offspring (meaning the dragons have paid for themselves and I'm earning profit instead of paying off debt).
Breeding to sell in the AH is no longer profitable. No wonder so many have become exalting fodder. I can make a profit if I keep them all until they grow up, quick-level them to 3, and exalt. I lose money if I sell in the AH.

Granted, part of the reason I play is to make pretty babies. But it's really difficult and frustrating that I have to scrape and scrape and scrape to afford dragons with the look I want, if I can even find them. I could easily modify some more plentiful breeds to look how I wanted, if I could profit somewhere other than games. There are only ever like 4 or 5 dragons with the gene and species I want, and never in the right color or gender. The gene pool is really small on some of the 'better' breeds, it seems like, and it's next to impossible for people to expand it because there's not much fresh blood coming in from scrolls.
