Scythe introduced me to this game a few days ago, and since then I've become addicted with it. So I wanted to make a blog for us TEF members who are playing. Basically, it's a game all about raising a clan of dragons and battling with them Pokemon style.

You choose from 11 different elements at the beginning, and depending on which you pick, your first dragons will be that element. You have your own dragon god and area on the map based on your element, and you can breed dragons to build your clan and trade with others.

Anyway, check the game out here.

If you're a member and want to be on the list, let me know your username and element and I'll add you. (A link to your clan profile really helps me for linking purposes

) I've got a bunch of TEF members on my friends list on Flight Rising but I'd rather you let me know you want to be on the list than just add you without permission.

Also feel free to talk about this game as much as you'd like in the blog. There's a lot to discuss XD

Aiv, gotta account for that lair limit, yo.
And it's not just people wanting a good deal on a nice dragon, it's supply and demand. With the huge influx of players, that's (what was it?) 10,000 new nests available to breed in with 1-3 average eggs per nest... Yea. FR could have thought about the site's economy a little bit harder and prepared for the horrendous dragon overload.

^ Yeah that's kind of what worries me too. Because we can't make profit from hatchlings required for things like breed change scrolls, which is what's been helping to keep fresh blood flowing and prevent inbreeding. Worried that we're gonna start running into that big old "SURPRRIIISSE THEY'RE RELATED WITHIN 7 GENERATIONS no breeding 4 u" crud. Sooner or later it's gonna happen and come breeding time.. welp..

lol, I thought about adding it in and then I decided I didn't want to work myself up more than I had to. Besides, I hate math. xP
But yeah... There's a huge supply of dragons folks don't want, and they can't get the dragons they're demanding without selling said unwanted dragons, and the problem is perpetuating itself, lol.

Edit: Xemi -- Seriously ;; But really, go look for Wildclaws with Circuit. ~~Only like 6 come up.~~[Editagain okay I just looked and there are 11] Even fewer if you try to find it paired with a different gene -- and some combinations don't exist at all. It's not even a matter of finding one in the right color; you can't even find the genes there, and there are no scrolls to put them in.

Yeah...4500 new members was what the last registration raked in. And of course, now they're more concerned with the server than the economy of it. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to finally be on the site, but they should have thought it through better.

I, personally, am on a mission to gene and scroll all of my babies exactly to how I want them. Personal mission and I'm going to get a hells lot os satisfaction when I'm able to honestly say that I made them as pretty as they are from my own time and treasure. :| Foolish, yea, but dang it, I need a goal!

I...don't even really see the point of that scroll. I guess those who'd rather just raises babies would prefer it, but...eh. /shrugs

See, for me, the issue is that some of the genes I really don't care for. Circuit for example. I'm just...not fond of it, unless there's a dragon with the perfect colourings that can make it work. Gembond is another one. The ones I've seen here are rather nice, but more often than not, it's just not my cup of tea.

I honestly prefer basics (Though I really fancy eyespots on Faes. And I saw a Mirror with some sort of wing pattern that was gorgeous auugh.). And though I really fancy some of the skin scrolls, since they're not breedable, I'll probably just...wait god knows how long before investing in those.

have to agree with Aiv; dragons I spent so much money on in the beginning now go for 20k highest sometimes. Kind of disheartening. Was hoping with the new crowd it'd get better, but.. :/ not that I'm not thankful for the new crowd but it's. just ugh.

The problem with the new

The problem with the new crowd of people is, if you've looked at the forums. A LOT of people are like "HERE! Have some free gene'd dragons for newbies!" And well that's pretty much murdering more of the already poor economy. You can't sell anything 'expensive' anymore and if you sell it cheap (As I tend to do) You risk having people buy it just to attempt to resell it. That's what happened to my 2 double gene'd spirals and my PC I hatched out.

Hopefully something will be done to fix it 8| If not I might just sell to you guys on here to avoid the risk of my PC's, Spirals, Snappers, SD's, etc. being bought and resold for a profit >>

I did notice that in the forums. And while it's a...nice gesture, it's a very stupid one. :/

I mean, when I first joined and posted my info here, two of you guys sold me some really cute dragons. You were able to make some money off it, and I got two new dragons for my lair. Meanwhile, people on the forums are getting dragons - rare ones at that - for free. It doesn't matter the waiting period, the point is it's moronic and hurts the economy.

I agree. We each start out with two free dragons ready to breed. I think that's enough. I can see maybe selling a few ungened starters to friends to help them get started with something but....come on, really. I was given one free dragon by Quad and I've bought the rest myself and am currently saving up over 100K for a pearl from Apel that I'm very proud of and paid to get first pick of another PC clutch. I'm working hard for my babies, like any good mama should. ^_^

Edit: Phew!!! Finally got the 130K for the Iri/shimmer pearlcatcher female off Apel. ^_^ That took a LOT of time in the games with my computer shutting down in the middle of 10 of them today alone. @_@

Now for 50K tomorrow and then that's enough for a while.

Eh. Out of all the newbies, only a handful will go to to the forums and an even smaller amount would have received a free dragon there. It's barely hurting the economy. Besides, they will want need a mate for their dragon, which encourages them to buy one from the AH anyway.

It's hard not to impulse buy

It's hard not to impulse buy on pretty little faes that are going somewhere between 3-5 each now. :I I feel like I'm saving them from becoming exalt fodder or something. I hate how cheap these dragons are going for, because there's no reward in buying them, but at the same time, that means those really expensive dragons are finally coming down off their god awful expensive pedestals. Yet at the same time, it's driving me crazy that one gene dragons are now practically worthless. I remember being so proud of snatching up one gene dragons- and even more so with two genes. I spent 120k on my first spiral, she's just got one gene. And now double gene spirals are sitting somewhere at, what? 30k? 25k? It's almost making me want to upgrade to a double gene because that's smarter-and waaayyy cheaper- than spending weeks saving up to get her the genes myself. Yet at the same time, it's sort of pointless in and of itself because its going to be quite a while before I'll see a profit from all that. It's conflicting...

I spent 10.5k total on these two one gene faes.

all the breed change scrolls

all the breed change scrolls for the commons are GONE. I found this awesome mirror and bought it with the hopes of changing her to Fae, but ALL the common breeds are out of both the shop and the AH. I can only find the rare-super rare breeds. No fae, no mirror, nada.

Hey everyone!

We've been hard at work on stuff behind-the-scenes this past week or so, and would like to move ahead with trying to re-enable some of the features we've turned off. Tomorrow morning, September 18, at 06:00 server time, we will be placing the site into a brief maintenance to test some optimizations we've made to our Search function.

After the internal tests (conducted by Lightsky) have concluded, we will be opening the site back up. For the 24 hours or so following the maintenance, we'd like you to use the Search feature as you would normally (no need to actually pound on it) and provide us feedback on the site's overall responsiveness. We will make a thread available for that discussion. If the maintenance period runs long, we will provide updates below. Thank you!

Finally bought a clown gene

Finally bought a clown gene yesterday for my crimson Ridgeback. I looove crimson clown. Now he just needs eyespots or seraph and he's done! Even though I can likely buy a dragon like him for 30k now. I bought him as a basic fae ages ago to change him up, and I'm gonna finish it >8(

And luck be with me, I won this gorgeous girl in a raffle! I love ridgebacks.

He definitly is~ I don't know though, their ranges aren't spectaculair. Would most likely become red primaries with green secondaries. I was thinking to get the guy a girl in a red primary range with possibly tangerine secondary so they'd make some fiery babies. And because clown gene in the red primaries is just awesome. But if I don't really get anything by the time he's off cooldown I might breed them!

Tomorrow my spirals their nest hatches. They got such cute previeews aargk. Noodles are too adorable.

And tundra's are so weirdly tempting >_> I've bred my clown/eyespot tundra pair that I just bought because they looked nice. Gawddang tundra's. I'll blame Apel though she's the one that started it >8(

Funny, I used to hate tundras when I first joined, I thought they were stupid and ugly looking for some reason but now I totally adore them. They're now my favourite starter breed. Funny how your mind changes like that..

Today was Imperial Breeding

Today was Imperial Breeding day for me and these babies already have homes but I thought I'd share the babies with everyone because they turned out beautiful! Scythe will hopefully eventually be getting one of these

I get shopping-happy every

I get shopping-happy every time I come to this thread o.o

Just did two breedings today. My primary pair for the second time, but now the male is a fae with different colors. Still markingless but can you imagine these babies with iridescent and shimmer?! Even basic they're pretty little water babies!!

Sadly they only had one egg this time ;_;

And the second is my Stormaga and Quaddon (the one Quad gave me). Quaddon is markingless, and between the two there's not much color variety, so I might just randomize him and get him markings. For now I still bred them, and they have two.

As you can see, they need a bigger variety.

Pretty sure it's 350 Gems. Last time I checked in the AH they were about 53k so it's at an about 1:150 ratio, may have gone down since then. ~~what do you mean i 'play too much'~~
