I had a lot of fun with you yesterday! Thanks for helping Quad get his gazelle antlers back - he looks really cool with them and the green pelt so I was glad you were generous to help me get them back.

I hope I get to run into you again, and I hope you get some really cool friends in the Forest!

Chapter 6 - Soft Words

Jaclyn's grip released on the doe's throat, the lioness stumbling back and turning her head to see a deep wound on her shoulder. Zephyr quickly sat up and gasped for air, shaking her head and trying to clear her vision. She saw Jaclyn lose her strength, collapsing to the ground and breathing heavily.

BANG! Another shot startled Zephyr, the bullet striking a tree nearby her head. She darted away, her eyes on the fallen lioness for the moment, and clearing the open area she leapt into a thick underbrush. The doe's peacock-like feathers provided camouflage as she turned and watched a human approach the lioness.

"Lost the deer...", he said to himself, "It's too bad. I don't know why the rangers are protecting the lions around here..." The man knelt and took another look at the lioness before standing and walking off.

Zephyr waited a few moments, making sure the man had left before she escaped. She started to walk off when she looked back at the lioness. She just tried to kill you., Zephyr thought, Just leave her. She deserves it. The doe took a few more steps before stopping and looking back again. "I must be out of my mind...", she said to herself, and quickly ran to the lioness' side.

The predator was still breathing, but she was out cold. Zephyr lifted Jaclyn's body onto her back. The lioness was much heavier than she expected, but she was able to manage her.

Walking uphill with her on Zephyr's back proved to be a difficult task. The snow sank under her feet faster, and she could feel her legs become sore. Still, she was determined to save her attacker, though the walk seemed to last for an eternity.

Would someone be kind enough to make an artwork of Zephyr? I plan to have her post her own screenshots and things on here and wanted to get something for her avatar.

Zephyr here! You would believe it! My little brother, Axie, was in the forest today!!

For the first time in a long while, I was really happy! I haven't danced and laughed in ages. Maybe I'm the happiest when I'm with my brother!

And look, screenshots of us together!


Axie sure has gotten bigger since the last time I saw him!


We look really silly!


I never realized how fun it was to dress up, either.


Axie had to leave for a while. I was heartbroken.




But then he came back. I think this is his set now.


We're absolutely inseparable!

Chapter 5 - Snow

The bitter winds howled, a flurry of snow and ice pelting the two weary deer as they continued on. They had been walking for hours, losing the ground to layers of snow and having to take each step carefully so they wouldn't sink into the blanket of white. Axie's eyes felt like they were frozen shut, and he tried to keep up with his sister, who shielded him from most of the storm. Her legs were numb, but she refused to rest...she refused to die here.

Axie cried out to her, "Zephyr! I can't...", but the doe glared at her brother and called in reply, "Yes you can! We're going to make it! Keep going!" The young stag hesitantly took another step, but his legs gave in and he collapsed into the snow. Zephyr turned to see her brother curling up, his eyes slowly closing. "Axie!", she gasped, and hurried to him. Slipping as she approached, she covered him with her body, warming him with her belly. "Axie! Axie!!", Zephyr cried. Her brother looked up at her, shivering and gasping for air. "Just let me rest...", he began, but his sister shook her head, "Come on, Axie!" Axie's head slowly sank. He had lost all hope, and began to give into the cold.

"Just leave me, sister. I'm a burden...", Axie said. "No! Axie, no!", Zephyr bent down and nuzzled his face. Axie pressed his face into hers, but said to her, "Just...let me...die..."

The world seemed to go silent for the two of them. Their bodies shivered together, and in that moment, Zephyr thought of her brother, all of the memories they made. She thought of her mother...and how devastated she would be if Zephyr returned alone. She thought about Axie never enjoying the Forest, and what it would be like without him...

Hey this is non-TEF related of course but we're getting a Wii. My cousins decided not to keep theirs, so my aunt is visiting and decided to bring it and all of their games. The whole package will cost $200.

We don't know what games it comes with but we're trying to get ideas for games we'd like.

Smash Bros Brawl is already on our list, so we don't need that suggested. We're also planning on getting Wii Fit (Mom really wants it) and Wii Sports. Other than that, if you have any suggestions, please let me know.

Edit - Just got the Wii today. It came with Wii Play, Wii Sports, Mario Galaxy, and Super Paper Mario. Can't hook it up right now, though, because my mom's watching Dr. Phil on the TV it's supposed to go on *facepalms*

Edit 2 - Has a blast last night. I played some Wii Play games with my mom and brother, and then got to play Wii Sports with my dad. He beat me at bowling but I whipped him in Golf.

Edit 3 - I picked up Okami today, and my brother got Brawl and another game called No More Heroes. We tried out everything...well he tried out his game, then we played some Brawl (I really like playing as the Pokemon Trainer!), and then I got to try out Okami. I swear, that's the best workout I've ever gotten playing a video game, and I'd love to play more of it but my arm and back are sore. Maybe tomorrow...

Chapter 4 - The Abandoned Ruins

The air was much colder than normal. The winds howled through hollowed structures that haven't been inhabited for years. A small town, once thriving with humans, had long been forgotten. The buildings were crumbling, the windows smashed or boarded up, and several old things sat in the streets, left for reasons unknown. The area had a strange feel, that could only be felt by two shivering creatures who were passing through.

Their hoofs echoed on the broken streets. Zephyr led her brother, who walked slower than normal and was taking deeper breaths. The doe stopped for a moment, "Axie?", she asked. Her brother looked up, "Can we take a break? I'm a little tired." Zephyr gave a slight smile and nodded.

The two found a spot of grass where a small park had been. Axie collapsed on the soft ground, grimacing as he extended one of his back legs. Zephyr sat and observed her brother. His leg had a gash that ran down the side. A small amount of blood had stained his fur, and the skin was darker and slightly bloated than it should be. Zephyr had never noticed that her brother's leg was slowly rotting. "Axie, why didn't you tell me?", she questioned him at once. The young deer sighed, "I thought it would heal along the way. It has only been hurting now...", he replied.

Zephyr at once had a horrible realization...that her brother may not make the journey. She turned her head, looking away from him as she shuddered and closed her eyes. He's going to die..., she thought to herself, and then couldn't help but start to sob. Axie knew that she was crying, and he tried to comfort her, "Sis, it's fine. I'm not in a whole lot of pain...", but he knew it wasn't helping, and her sister shook her head, still looking away.
