Chapter 3 - Through The Swamps

She tried to open her eyes. Everything was blurry and white. She squinted to keep them open as they adjusted to the new place. It all seemed so strange.

Eva was much warmer now, her body was wrapped in a blanket as she lay on an operating table. She wasn't shivering like before, but her delicate body was still numb from the attack earlier. She looked to see her belly was wrapped, and she was no longer bleeding. She wondered where her mother was, and tried to call out to her.

Her voice was soft and barely audible, but she tried. The sounds came out, and she listened.

"You idiot, Brutus!", a voice came, "The thing was going to be dead anyway. Why didn't you let me eat it?" "Quiet, Killer.", another voice replied, "The fawn is still asleep. I may eat meat but I don't torture young animals like you do." The two appeared in the doorway, one of the dogs blocking the other. Killer growled, "Let me in there, so I can put it out of it's misery." Brutus shook his head, "Leave the poor thing alone.", he said.

"Killer, shut up!", another booming voice came, and the man kicked the dog. Killer yelped again and fled. "Dumb mutt.", the man said, and turned to Brutus, "It's alright, Brutus. We'll leave the fawn here." Eva could barely see the man - he was a giant to her, and when his eyes met hers, she cowered and looked away. "Come on, let's go.", the man said to his dog, and walking off, called to Killer. Eva heard a loud thump, and then silence.

She called out again, this time her voice was a little louder. A new sound heard, a thumping that came closer. Another human appeared in the doorway, who walked up to the table and knelt to meet the fawn face to face. "Hello there.", the female said, her voice softer than the other human's. She reached out and caressed the little white fawn, and her hand was gentle and warm.

I have decided to write an Impressive Title fanfic, but I couldn't find a place to host the story. I know the TEF community site probably wouldn't mind it being there, but since it's IT and not TEF I didn't think it would really fit there. And the IT forums do not have a place that I thought would be appropriate for the story.

So Sluggs offered for me to host the story at the Shady Grove. I'm pleased to announce the story will be written there.

The story will be about my five characters in IT:



While this is an IT story, I may allow guest appearances from my friends in IT as well as TEF - as in your lions and/or deer may be allowed to appear in the story. (Don't worry, your deer won't be slaughtered )

I chose the name Guerra Della Fiera, which means "War of the Prides" in Italian.

Right now the only parts I need are members of The Endless Founders. If you were in this pride, let me know which lion you were so they can be included.

Thanksgiving is finally done and now we officially can put lights on our houses, have trees in our windows, hoarde reindeer stuff, and listen to holiday music on the radio and in stores. And for those of you lucky to get SNOW, I'm jealous! The Christmas Season is upon us!

My job (grocery store) is already celebrating with lights, wreaths, blow-up snowmen, ect. The businesses tend to get giddy about Christmas in November.

Anyway, probably tomorrow I will help pull down our artificial light-up tree, and maybe I'll get to put together the light up stag and doe that you put in your front yard. My family gave them to me for my birthday last year (which is December 30th), so we haven't gotten to use them yet.

I'm fortunate that I got most of my holiday shopping done already. I decided to go with giftcards this year, and I bought those Webkinz things to hold the giftcards. I just need to spend about $25 more and I'll be done.

A funny thing about tomorrow being Black Friday and all, last year the only store I went to was a thrift store! LOL I stay away from department stores after Thanksgiving.

So anyway, yeah...Mmmmmmoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!

And yes, Caribou are absolutely sexy!

Well, to make things easy for whoever got me, I thought I'd jot down a list of things I like. If you plan to buy anything for me, please don't let it be too expensive - I'd much rather have something cheap that has some kind of sentimental or special meaning to you. I'd prefer something mailed over artwork if possible. But anyway, if you needed any inspiration or ideas, here is a list of things I like - everything in bold is something I think would be especially cool :

To everyone who read the topic I wrote a while ago, I'm sorry you had to read that. I guess sometimes I feel like the world is coming down on me, but I know that things will get better and that I have a wonderful community that listens and supports their friends. I need to stop worrying so much, and I need to be happier, no matter what.

I think it will start with hugging Brandy at least once every day.



Thanks, Her, for suggesting this. It really calmed me down and I realized how much Brandy loves me, and how excited she gets when I come home. I guess we really were made for each other.

I also forget sometimes that Quad is always there for me. I think I've been neglecting him for Impressive Title and Guild Wars, so I've been getting him back in the Forest. I think he really deserves it.

And if I could, I'd hug him too. I love him so much and I'm so sorry that I abandoned him.

Jen, I'm sorry about your comment. You don't have to tell me what you said if you don't feel like it, I'm not in the same mind-set as I was yesterday. I deleted the topic after talking on iScribble. Please don't worry about that topic, it was stupid and I'm okay now.
