ATTENTION TO EVERYONE WHO HAS MADE A BIOGRAPHY RECENTLY

Please, please check to make sure your CSS is all "Under The Cut". No coding or fancy things should be showing on the biography page. It looks like it is leaking a little.

If you don't know how to put CSS under a cut, then please click the link below to learn.

Accepting The Value of a Brighter Person (Moss' pelt story; Not Canon)

It was just before dawn in the forest. The land was anticipating the sun to warm it, silently waiting with thick impatience. Birds had yet to break into song, although they did flap noisily between the tree tops. The sound was rather abrupt, almost rudely breaking the deafening silence that echoed in a pair of white ears.

Calm, cool, and steady against the anticipation, a stag stood atop the edge of a Birch Forest cliff. His eyes were closed, body rigid to stay on its pillars. The black and white being appeared almost regal, his antlers rising in a stark ivory crown rimmed with spikes. He too could feel the anticipation ticking the edges of the air, although he did not let it inside his mind. This was Moss' morning meditation, and he wouldn't let anything in that he didn't want.

Almost as if hungered for the stag, the light on the horizon began to rapidly edge toward him. It covered ground at an alarming rate, reaching to lap at the beast's fur within moments. Still, the stag remained unmoving on the outside. Inside, he drank in the warmth to slake his body's aches and pains that thirsted for it. He let his already warm heart beat with it, his pictogram flooding with light. This morning a conversion had begun, though nobody noticed.

Birdsong started like a leak of water: a dripping single note, to a trickle, to a slow and steady flow. The song flowed into Moss' ears and flooded him with a happiness that only it could give. In his mind's eye he could imagine each feather, color, and shape of those that sang the beautiful chorus. Outwardly, he smiled. A tingle had spread over his entire body, causing hair to stand on end and make him appear larger. The risen hairs allowed more morning light to reach his skin, warming even more what once was cold with the end of the night.

Finally, the being sighed and opened his eyes. A flash of light again momentarily blinded him, followed by children's laughter.

The Visit ( RP )

RP Guidelines:
Please be mindful that I have been RPing since I was 10 years old. I have come to have a 'standard' of sorts when it comes to RP. I will request that you be literate and show that you grasp an understanding of the English language. This means that you will need to use proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc. to the best of your ability when replying to me. Please also use a logical storyline when posting. This means that you can't just be talking one moment and in some life or death battle in another place in the next moment. Finally, please take the time to look at Moss' biography before posting. On that page, there is some useful information on how to go about interacting with him for a more interesting RP that won't just fall apart. If these guidelines are ignored, you will also be ignored. It's that simple.

Okay, now that that little spiel is over, please look below the cut for the RP itself!

Can we all show a little restraint please?

Please?

l have been seeing a ton of new characters being created by older players. I would be all for it as it's an expression of creativity, but the amount of third generation pictos being registered is causing them to dwindle at an alarming rate. I would just like to caution all current players to be careful about how many new pictos you are registering right now. It would be wise to really consider a character before registering a brand new account for them. Otherwise please recycle an old picto you aren't using at the moment. We can't have new players without pictos for them.

Disclaimer: I am NOT trying to be the "Pictogram Police" or anything, just putting a concern out there. Anyone who wants to argue about my post can contact me on Skype (just_ rae). Otherwise, feel free to post your thoughts below.

Tera also had some good ideas, please consider them as alternatives!

One thing that can be done is to create characters that are Community Site characters only. These are ones that do not have a pictogram. This sort of play works really well for characters that you can't represent, or due to an aggressive/obnoxious nature, don't want to play in game. I've used this before for two of my characters and ended up having amazing RP experiences with them and getting more meaningful contact than in game! Just because a character is fun to draw and RP doesn't mean they NEED a pictogram. You can draw and RP without one, using your main account! This is also a fantastic way to 'test drive' a new character, to see if you will actually continue to play them. If you find yourself growing bored of them within a few weeks, don't register a pictogram for them. If you find yourself really growing attached and the character is rewarding for you, consider giving it a unique account (if that character would benefit from being in The Forest itself).

Writing for Interaction.

Please remember that this character is still in the development phase. Because of this his interactions will be inconsistent and may be brief. We are still finding out who he is. Please also remember that muse is fleeting, so I may not continue an RP if I don't like where it is going. Please do not be offended, as I don't mean offense unless I let you know.

Could I ask something of everyone, please?

I've seen a resurgence in huge signatures on TEFc. Would people mind shrinking their signatures if they take up a lot of room, please? I know you love your signatures, but when they take up as much room as an entire post they become slightly distracting.

Smiling THANK YOU !

Ranting about stuff.

OOC means OUT OF CHARACTER and OC means ORIGINAL CHARACTER.
I mean, what would the extra O mean if OOC was ORIGINAL character? o.o

APOSTROPHES DON'T HAVE TO GO BEFORE EVERY 'S'! THEY ARE ONLY NEEDED IN CONJUNCTION WITH 'S' TO SHOW A WORD'S POSSESSION OF ANOTHER WORD! No, your sentence doesn't need to possess itself. Demon sentences running around would not be good. No.

And CSS... all of the CSS messing up everything all over is annoying too. Just put it under a cut already, or don't use it. Okay? And it's not just one person. But man. -.- It's a simple thing. Show some courtesy. PLEEEEASE!

And this girl ranting about things that might offend people? What a b****! Everyone should throw pinecones at her. Yeah.

Well, I should go find a shield so I do not get hit with too many pinecones. /rant

Female's Blog

November 21, 2013

I woke up today thinking maybe after a long rest things might be different. Maybe I could find myself today, maybe even find a new pelt to compliment my mask and horns. I'd look very pretty in the Antelope pelt, don't you think? It's got a darker pattern than the Kabuki. But nobody wears the Kabuki pelt anymore, so if I can't find someone to help me that's fine. I can be comfortable in my uniqueness.

I raced all over the forest to find sleeping deer, but there always seemed to be nobody near by them to help. Finally, at the ruins, I crossed paths with a fawn. It was playing 'stuck in the cage' all by itself. Maybe it could help me? But it didn't. I tried greeting, asking it to follow, casting a mask spell to show it that I wanted some magic help... but it just ran off. Sad

I was sad, so I found a deer to sit by. Peacock pelted deer are friendly, right?

This deer was just... standing by the big slab of stone at the ruins. It was almost setless, so I wondered if it needed help. But... the pelt I threw wouldn't stick! It had different antlers so I couldn't call it a nameless, so... I ran back to the sleepy peacock deer because I was confused.

A green pelted deer came walking by, rubbing every tree in sight. I thought I was in its territory or something so I got nervous... until I finally realized it was trying to find pinecones. Silly deer, they grow on PINE TREES! So after a couple attempts to find a pine that had ripe ones, I showed the deer where they were. They immediately began sneezing off built up magic... an array of spells, as if they couldn't make up their minds. Then they wanted pelts... my first pelt spell was a kabuki and it stuck to the deer just fine. So much for having a unique pelt. *sigh*

Then the peacock deer got up... and I got nervous and ran off to hide behind a tree. Then I peeked and it looked back at me so I ran away... found a nice place by the river to have a nap. I am such a nervous deer today.
