Into the Dawn Light (open interaction if you'd like)

{This is just something I wanted to do to re-introduce Atiq into the forest and maybe set the baseline for some plot involved with him.
Because unlike before where I kept flip flopping through half-baked vague backstory, Atiq did a lot of growing and some things...changed.
This guy is now going places. So yes, this is sort of just an introduction, but I'm very much open to this becoming an interaction hub}

White Out ((Open Role Play))

Warning: There may be mature content here. ((Depending on the role playing posts)) This relates to language, subject matter, or violence.

Season: Winter
Time: Late evening, becoming dawn. The sky is slowly lighting up, but it will still be a while before the sun actually begins to rise.
Setting: The forest is covered in thick snow, everywhere. The pond is a serene mirror of ice. We'll start there.

I decided to make this role play due to the lag in the game. I got kicked out a few times. :'D Oh well. Let's have fun with these settings, shall we? As for the title, interpret it as you please. This may even help you write out your response.

I will be using my main character, Sabel.
Now let us see what type of tale we can spin.

-

The moon and stars were hardly visible, a soft pale hue painting the sky. It was a few hours away from dawn- the gentle purples and blacks becoming soft blues and grays. Dancing flakes of white were quietly falling and blanketing the world of pine needles and dead leaves below, the trees bare. And nearby, a lone figure was jumping around rather fondly on top of a very thick sheet of ice. Laughter echoed with the loud clack of hooves upon the frozen pond, filling the air. Yet these were the only sounds available. No twittering of birds, no soft chirping of crickets or other bugs. The world seemed mute. However, the dark blue and white creature leaping around on the ice appeared oblivious to it.

The Endless Forest is 10 years old today!

Ten years ago today, on 10 September 2005, the first phase of The Endless Forest was launched at a fine art exhibition entitled "Tardis" that took place on the ruins of a medieval abbey. The gothic Saint Salvator church that was part of the abbey served as the floor plan for the well-known ruin in our deer Forest.

The game was actually based on a prototype that had been made in response to a commission from the Museum of Modern Art in Luxemburg in 2003. This prototype was presented in its online gallery in 2004. MUDAM would continue to host the server for the game until 2012.

The Endless Forest is the first game released to the public by Tale of Tales. Over the years that followed, the game has been expanded to its current form. Each iteration of its development has been supported in part by the Flanders Audiovisual Fund and Design Flanders. Additionally, Phase Two was created with the support of the STUK Arts Centre in Leuven and released in 2006. And Phase Three with the support of Rasa in 2007. Since then a few smaller additions were added such as Halloween for the Velocity Festival in 2007 and De Drinkplaats for an exhibition in the Broelmuseum in 2009.

As the game continued to draw players (20,000 registered deer by 2007, 50,000 by 2009, and almost 170,000 today), we've had to add new generations of pictograms to identify players in this wordless game.
