Divine Sanctuary - Chapter 2

Chapter 2 - Awakening the Great Deer

The two walked together, hand in hand, through a nearby park in their town. "Oh the leaves are beautiful this time of year.", Grandma Christine said. The fall colors were beginning to show on the trees, though it was still warm enough to wear light clothes outside. It was Francis' favorite time of year, as well as his grandmother's.

They stopped near the edge of the park, and the boy turned to his grandmother, "I wanted to show you something cool. I found a trail in the woods yesterday!", he said to her. "Oh? I'd love to walk it with you!", Christine replied happily. Francis smiled, and led her to the nearby woods.

He found the path again, and helped his grandmother climb over the vines and twigs underneath. "There is a path!", Christine said, "I never knew this was here!" Francis then began, "I...I wanted to show you something I found. It's not far." The old woman smiled once again, "Show me."

They began to hike through the path. He knew where he was going - he remembered the way the path was. He stopped at a sloping part of the woods, and began to climb down. He stopped to help Christine down the slope.

They reached the bottom, where she took a deep breath. "I haven't hiked this much in ages.", she said. The boy led her on, until they reached an open area. Francis looked to his grandmother, and said to her, "I think I found the deer in your story."

Christine took a few steps forward, wiping her eyes. "Quad? I can't believe it! He's here!", she said. She reached into her purse, pulling out an old plush deer. The statue of the great deer had not changed since yesterday - Quad was still sitting, a slight smile on his face. "Francis! You found Quad! This is wonderful!", she exclaimed happily, and then went to the statue and put her hand on Quad's face.

"Quad...", Christine began to say, "...what happened to you?"

:.{Death Scenes | Tybalt added}.:

[=10]So I was just thinking about stuff xD And I started thinking about how my deer would die, and decided to write it out here c8 This is simply imaginings, not really happening 8U And they aren't in order of death or anything like that; they're more 'preferred death scenes' I guess xD

Taliene : Deer

The morning's early rays of light filtered through the leaves, a large ray cast down onto a patch of golden grass. In this sunbeam there lay a doe; her pelt a faded brown colour, a once-pretty human face revealed by the removal of the mask she'd worn for so long. Her eyes were hazel in colour, but devoid of the clear brightness they'd once had. There were four deer crowded around her; her long-term mate, Gehirn; her adoptive son, Yori; her brother, Rutilus, and two close friends; Seele, and Oz. There was a small smile on Taliene's face as she moved her head closer to Gehirn's chest. The stag, his black pelt now a dark grey, was curled protectively around her, his red eyes gazing down at her with a terrible sadness. Yori had aged quite a bit, but his face was still young. He watched the doe that had been his mother for as long as he could remember with a broken expression, eyes wide and disbelieving. Rutilus, older than his sister, worn and tired, looked as though he was losing a part of his heart. He was. Oz, who had not known Taliene for as long as the others had, had his eyes closed, a mournful and pained grimace on his handsome face. The dark brown stag, Seele, blind and shaking, had tears streaming down his aged face. The entire scene was heartbreaking to watch. Their tears glistened as the sun rose higher in the sky, brightening the horizon.
"No tears," Taliene's voice was barely a whisper. "You're still alive..." Gehirn lowered his head to rest beside hers, his tears hidden from view by her fur.
"Taliene...Oh, love..." He choked out, forcing himself not to break down.

Stagleaf, and Endless Forest Blog on Blogspot, is Shutting Down

If you have been here for awhile, you may know about Stagleaf, an Endless Forest blog on Blogspot that I started in April of 2007. As time went on, I invited Laruna, Jen, and Wildbluesun to be contributors on the blog. However, after talking to the other contributors and months of reflection, I have come to the conclusion that it's time for this blog to be put to rest.

Since then, Michael and Auriea, the creators of Tale of Tales, created the community site. Since the community site has a place for blog posts, there really wasn't any reason to keep an outside blog running other than to bring in people from the outside. However, not enough people are reading it.

I am in graduate school. If you're unfamiliar with that term, it means that I am in a university program that one attends after receiving his or her Bachelor's degree. Grad school is very intense, time consuming work that leaves very little energy for non-academic endeavors.

That said, I can not afford to put energy into a blog that few will ever read. I have posted links to my blog numerous times, but not enough people have expressed interest in it for me to keep it up; however, I am not angry. That's life: Some things take off, some things don't. Some things, like Stagleaf, do well in the beginning and then fizzle out. This is just the way things are. All one can do consolidate energy elsewhere and move on.

If you're interested in what the writers at Stagleaf have to say concerning the Forest, follow me, Jen, and Laruna on the community website and forums. Wildbluesun can still be followed on deviantART.

I would like to thank Laruna, Jen, and Wildbluesun for contributing when they could to this blog. They are wonderful people.

If you have been reading it, I apologize, and thank you for reading.

Amary and Bastilion (some screenshots)

Not as many as a normal screenie dump. These are from yesterday, and go along with Amary's latest journal.
Prepare for cuteness.

they look like a family almost X3

After Dark left.
I was trying to get in a position that would make it look like Amary was resting her head on Bast's shoulder or something, but I settled for the same position she was in before. X3

I was doing something else (I think I went away for a bit, actually), so Amary fell asleep.
It's just too bad her antler is going through Bast's head. XD

Then Bast fell asleep. D'aw lookit them, so friggin' adorable! >w<
I wanted to get a shot from the front, but those blueberries were blocking the view. x.x

Ache-Heart Re-do

8D
Bayleen is going to have a fawn and I've decided to just have Ache-heart be the daughter when the fawns are born. Cool

I still have to work out all the details... but it is coming along. Smiling

Does anyone else get this problem on community site?

Where on many pages, it's difficult to get a page to load to show the comments on it... and in some cases completely impossable? Even after posting a reply, I can't see anyone's comments, including my own. This seems to happen on a lot of pages for me lately, and I'm wondering if this is a community site glitch or just my internet.

Lil' help yes?

I'm trying to add all the stories and writings that feature my Darkweaver to his bio page, but to do that I need to know what writings those include. |'D *fail*
Anyway, if possable could anyone who's involved him in writing provide a link? I do know I must have overlooked quite a bit...
Thanks in advance guys. <3
