I have not been able to be as involved in the forest near as much as I would like, and realized just how bad this bio sounded so decided to take it down. If I ever have the time to get back into the forest more i'll put up another (hopefully better) one. <3 to my forest family. Miss you all.

Nue?

Obviously I'm new. I mulled around for quite some time as an unnamed stag due to the lack of registration and the fact I couldn't seem to find someone to adopt from; but now I have a lovely fawn to grow up with all on my own. And that being said his namesake is also my own, and he is named Festschrift meaning: A volume of learned articles or essays by colleagues and admirers, serving as a tribute or memorial especially to a scholar.

I'm actually not sure why I chose his name, it just sounded like a proper deer name. He is mostly a loner, despite being a generally friendly deer. I'll be sure to write up his bio next, along with whatever else I can conjure up about him.

Pictogram problems?

Alright, so I signed up and choose my pictogram.
However, I was playing him in forest and his pictogram was different. He had a little ~ thing over the two circles on the pictogram, but it's not there when you click the link. Which made me a little mad, because I don't want it there, and that wasn't there when I registered. ><
Has anyone else had these problems?

Hello, I am new and helpless.

Or hopeless? I don't rightly know.
I have been browsing the community for a little while, and. . .consider the hell intimidated out of me. My stag's got the default everything, I'm terrible at art, and I'm a bit stupid when it comes to this internet thing, so feel free to tell me I'm doing it wrong. I don't think I fit the requirements to be here.
At least I've got a decent grasp of what kind of personality I'd like Muirenn to have. Unfortunately, he's not the most socially graceful creature.

. . .A ha. Ha. I am such a loser. D':

happy new year everyone x (:

I See Winter Has Come

I[=9] stepped onto the hard ground, patches of snow scattered over the forest. The leaves had fallen since I was last here it seemed like. I wondered if something special was happening... The candles and giant tulips weren't a usual occurrence. I wish I had been here for Christmastime- like I was for Halloween. They say it's the New year's eve. How nice, maybe this new year will bring something special.
I immediately found my way through the falling snow, to the bridge. If it was anything, it was pretty, yet I found no delight in the freezing cold. I sat in the midst of the candles, somehow remained alive and flickering despite the snow. It was warm, the heat reaching through my fur. No one I knew... Besides a few acquaintances I remember I met once. Also... There was something else. Some unfamiliar pictos... Of course, I do not yet pride myself on knowing all the deer here, but they were, well, frankly, somewhat different. In a different way. I must sound crazy, even to myself...
Though, I should probably explore this forest, in it's new mantle of white, despite the lack of heat. I stood, and trotted into the deeper parts of the forest, observing the towering purple flowers more closely. I observed two fawns, that caught my eye, keeping warm together where the 'Blue bowl' normally was. They unusually seemed to have kept their colors, but I can't be sure.
I stopped near the Great oak, and was quite pleased to see the large candle resting inside. Though I really have no idea where all the wax comes from. I entered, and curled up inside, listening to all the deer that 'played' outside, quite silly in this weather. I sniffed, partly from the ridiculousness of it all, and partially because of the affect of the cold. Speaking of cold, I do believe I might catch one. I frowned, closing my eyes.

Seed's Poetry Corner: Festival of Lights

This is such a lovely New Year's Eve, much more festive than last year. And a good party deserves a good poem. It will have to accept my offering, instead. Ha.

Festival of Lights

The little flames flicker
into the last night of the year,
sizzling against the cold of the snow.

As the deer amass,
their bodies tangle and weave.
they frolic from point to point,
antlers streaming like a comet's tail.
Bubbles arise from their voices
and reflect the irredescent, cool night.
They dance together, each bobbing to a song
sung in the rythm of the bright snow.

And they give rise to such light
that the mightiest candle
is but a faint, distant star.

((This has been yet another visit to Seed's Poetry Corner. In the text of the next few poems, I will be putting bits of a secret message. First person to post at the index with a message gets a special surprise! This poem's message piece is "Gi"))
