The red stag flinched, not so much out of fright but out of surprise. Did that rock just fall from the sky? There was a night not too long ago where stars were falling from the sky, yet never hitting the earth. This seemed similar. Perhaps it was a falling star.
With cautious silent steps, the hoofed creature would investigate.

<sup>An unusual sound had awoken the small fawn from his light sleep atop a familiar lily pad. Fragile head rose wobbly to stare into the distance. A empty stare, for no eyes were there. Koi's newborn legs pushed from under him, into a standing position. One wobbly step after another across the water. Ears would perk and swivel, whilst nose would twitch. An unusual smell, plus a few others near. Small while fawn brought himself towards the object, stopping before he ran into a cloud of fumes. Something didn't feel right. He stared blankly into the direction of the object. He didn't know what was or what it looked like. He wanted to touch it, but instincts kept him from it. He backed away a few steps. "...What... are you? Can you hear me?"

The sad thing is, he didn't know whether he was talking to a live being or an inanimate object.</sup>

<sup>Surprise flickered through Koi's body at the sudden spoken words. The smoke was gone, but now something else was there. What was it? Small white fawn wobbled towards the unknown being, reaching his long nose out to sniff at the creature. Another fawn? But it smelt weird. It didn't smell like the forest. Head retracted and cocked to the side curiously. "....You're in the forest." he would pause, taking another sniff in it's direction. "...What are you? You.. don't smell like here." he would ask in a shy, almost hoarse voice. Eyeless sockets stared eerily towards the fawn.

If only he could see...</sup>

The Deer finally decided to approach then, joining the crowd of curious deer who had stayed closer to the rock and the alien developments regardless of what dangers there could have been.
"You are in The Endless Forest. Welcome."

^{"...Trenton? Hi.... I'm Koi. What do you look like? ...Where are you? Do you know where you came from?"}

Myu strides carefully to the young newcomer, surprised at how he came into the Forest.

Such things were unheard of within the calm abyss of the Forest. But if it was one thing that she had learned, and learned well...

It was that anything could happen.

Laying down quietly next to the young fawn, she stares out at the Pond.

So many stories started and ended here. This fawn would know not the history of this Pond, nor the history of the Forest in its entirety. All those who would do harm to such a young being would seem like friendly faces to him.

But such is the price to pay when you've only been recently conceived.

She looks over to the young fawn, bumping his forehead lightly with her nose.
